Dorphin snorted and flopped on the ground, wondering if he'd be able to stand days with this group. It was just some artifact, what did he care? But that was the point - he did care. He didn't know why. He had been feeling so many strange things, and he couldn't even explain why he acted the way he did. Not anymore. Not since the change.

Nezumi looked about.
"Is there a better place available? Hmm? One of my companions should be meeting me here in a little while... So... I think, yeah, this is where we need to be. But if there's another place...?"
She shrugged, and looked a bit concerned.

"One of your companions is meeting you here? Then I suppose we should wait..."Frost said, shrugging. she could always set up an ice sheild if need be...though, without Chime, the magic requiered may strain her a little. oh well... she thought, sighing. She was already starting to wonder if she had been foolish to take this job. she had been getting along fine in this dimension. however, it's not like I have somewhere to be, or people that care about where I am... she thought bitterly.

"Aaaah, nice place here!" Chantre smiled and laid down under a tree, arms folded underneath her head. "Now what do we do?" She sat up and looked around. "What about food? When's your friend coming? Do you know?" (I love Chantre. She's like the little sister I never knew. Unfortunately, she comes with absolutely no character developement at all.)

Endorphin rolled over on his stomach and frowned at the females. "Why? Too much manpower for a little trinket. This is more dangerous than simple ruin-grubbing." He propped up his head on his hand and thought for another moment. Again, something new. Devourers shouldn't need to think so much, it used to be that the most he ever did was decide whether or not something was worth eating.

"Hmm..." Koumori glanced around. It wasn't much worse than anywhere she had been recently... But she would be damned if she would fall asleep around people she had just met. Besides, she had studying to do. She was extremely tired, but it was a cold kind of tired, which left her abhoring the idea of sleep.
She produced a large, blackbound book, and quill pen from somewhere within her swirling robes, and sat down under a tree to write in her notebook.
((Anyone who gets withing a foot of her now will notice an extremely cold aura emenating for her, which is odd even for practitioners of dark, or cold magic. If they stay there too long, they will start feelings weak, depending on their constitution. Just a note... ^^))

Frost glanced at the girl, saw that she was writing, and decided not to bother her. Besides, I can use this time to study, she thought, fingering one of her spell-books in her one of her many pockets. She looked around for a semi-secluded place to read.
(OOV: Soo...is there a semi-secluded place for her to read near-by?)

Nezumi smiled at Chantre. "My other friend, who is coming, has food. You may read, or, I dunno, sleep? Practise magics?" She turned to Endorphin. "Yes. This is a lot more dangerous than that. Mount Fukashigi is the central headquarters... For the demon king. I'm trying to steal his item of power."
((Pausing this roleplay. I'm going away for spring break, so this RP is on hold till I get back ^__^; Sorries.))
((Frost, you may go into a small clearing nearby,to the west, by a river, or another small clearing to the northeast. You may also sit in a tree, but that might be a little out of character.))

Frost spotted a small clearing to the west by a river, and walked over to it. she sat by the water and got one of her spell-books out and started reading.

Post by Rehiro on Apr 8, 2006 21:58:45 GMT -5
The demon formerly known as Krowin saw the world explode into a field of electricity before his eyes. The people around him were eminating electricity and the plants as well. The one named Koumori was filled with ice that spread and killed the things around it. The people were different from plants. They were filled with fire. Even the icy Koumori who shouldnt be allowed cold and hot at the same time. The Mark of Shame spread from Krowins feet. Purple jags ran across the ground and the others breathed fire on it to keep it back. The fire ate the Mark and it hurt Krowin. A man was standing in front of him wearing animal skins and people skins. He had no electricity. All fire. And fire wore like a crown around his head.
It was Rehiro. Krowin was scared. Nobody else could see him. It was the Mark. Make him see things that arent real.
Rehiro yanked a knife from his belt and dropped it. It fell and hit the ground with a thud. Pinning a piece of the Mark so that it couldnt shrink back into Krowin. The others breathed fire on it and the knife lit up like a torch. It hurt so much he wanted to yell, but he couldnt because it wasnt real. The electricity pulled back into the people and plants, as well as the fire and ice and the Mark of Shame. Rehiro was pulled backward and disapeared into the forest. Grinning and waving at him. Everything went back to normal but that knife stayed. Lit on fire and pinning a piece of the Mark right there on the ground. It hurt.
OOC: He's hallucinating.

(unpause)
A man looking about twenty entered the clearing. he had long, clean looking blonde hair pulled back in a low ponytail, and dark eyebrows formed a worried look over serious green eyes.
"Nezumi? I see you've had some success with the bodyguard hunt..." He said calmly. He figited with his white gloves, tightening them. He wore a long dark blue cloak with a green-blue tunic and white leggings underneath. Chain mail reached to just below his elbows, and only a small area of skin could be seen in the space between his mail sleeve and his white gloves. A large cloth package, long, but thin that widened at the bottom, was strung loosely on his back. The hilt of a dagger could be seen sticking slightly out of his left boot.
Nezumi turned to him, and her face brightened.
"Harukichi! You're here! heehee!" She let out a gleeful laugh and ran towards him, as to hug him.
He stuck out his hand in front of her face, stopping her in his tracks.
"Dont call me those pet names, please. My name is Haruko, not Harukichi or Harurin or whatever else you may want to call me." he seemed a little annoyed, but his intense expression was now a little more relaxed.

Chantre glanced at the newcomer with a suspicious eye; he looked dangerous, and not just because of his many weapons. But, it looked like he was friends with her employer, so they were probably safe from him; for now. She climbed a tree and reclined on a branch, wondering when they would leave THIS time.

Frost turned towards the man, noting the dagger and the chain mail. She sighed, then stood up and went over to her employer. "I take it we will be heading out now? Or are we going to stay here for the night?" she asked Nezumi, bowing slightly to the stranger.

Koumori didn't look up. She didn't need to. Her hearing was sufficiant. By his voice, he was probably in his early twenties. The way he walked suggested a more serious nature than the bouncy, amourous young woman who had hired Koumori. She would normally listen in more, instead of looking, but she remembered that she was supposed to be a human, or at least humanoid. Most creatures were afraid of the unknown, so if she kept her ears folded, and everybody guessing, she might have the upper hand.
She turned her blue and red gaze at the two, rolled her eyes, and decided to at least... try to be social for once. She stood up and walked slowly over to the newcomer, made a slight bow as was the custom, and nearly whispered, "Greetings."

Haruko looked at the two who had approached him. Making a tight little bow, he gave a small smile, but his eyebrows were still set, two serious lines.
"Hello. I am Haruko. And you are?"
Nezumi smiled and said.
"That's Koumori-san and that's Frost-san," she decided it would not be good to call them Koukichi and Frosty-chan as she had them dubbed in her mind,"Oh, and don't be fooled by Harukichi's serious expression, he's really just a big sweety!" She smiled, and then said to Frost. "I think we'll stay here, it's getting dark already.

(OOC: Frosty-chan? *snickers*)
Frost sighed. She had thought so... "Of course," she said wearily. "DO you want me to set up a sheild, just in case?" she asked, calculating how much power that would take.

Endorphin pointedly ignored the newcomer, and instead decided to focus his attention on the demon-man. He was acting all... twitchy. And he didn't like it. He'd pulled a knife without being provoked.
Finally, the tall Devourer snorted and stood up, shoving his sunglasses back up his nose, then strolled over to the new male. He inhaled, testing the scent. Dangerous, but not to him.

Haruko looked a bit worried at Frost's comment.
Nezumi said slowly, "What... Kind of shield?"
Haruko took silent notice of Endorphin, he was powerful, and his energy was strange. He'd have to keep an eye on him.

Frost sighed, then shut her eyes. A moment later, a dome shaped shield of ice appeared, cutting Frost off from the rest of the group. She opened her eyes, then sat her palm on the sheild and reabsorbed the magic, making the ice melt away. "That kind," she said softly. "I can make it invisable until a person gets close, too," she continued, shrugging.

Chantre watched Frost showing off. "Wouldn't it be simpler just to turn your whole body to ice? It's pretty hard to break if it can defend itself, you know..." she called down, grinning a little. "That is, it'd be more useful unless you could put up that sheild for more than yourself... Just an opinion..." She chuckled to herself, waiting to see the outraged expression her 'opinions' very often caused.

"I can. I was just showing Nezumi what kind of sheild i was talking about. I can make it as big as I need to, given enough water and magic to work with," Frost said, shrugging. She was confident of her craft, there was very little a person could say about it that would upset her. And if they did, well...she was very good at hiding her emotions.

Chantre sniffed at the cold woman. Party pooper. She sighed, plucking a leaf from the branch she sat on, watching the bright, healthy green turn to withered grey as she burned it with a touch of a finger. A sad expression fleeted across her thoughtful face, but she shook it away and looked down. "Are you SURE we won't be able to leave soon?..."

Nezumi looked at Haruko, and he nodded.
"I think it's gonna be okay. As long as it's not too much trouble, and umm... Haruko, you might wanna sleep outside of it, just in case, kay?"
Haruko nodded again, and bowing slightly, turnd and leaped into a tree just outside the clearing.
Nezumi sat down by a tree.
"I think we're gonna sleep, and leave early tomorrow, kay guys? Okay! Goodnight everyone" She smiled, and then took off her scarf. When she unrolled it, it was a blanket. Covering herself up, she began to go to sleep.

Chantre groaned to herself, and jumped down to the ground. "Don't need no protection from some stuck up witch..." she muttered as she passed the globe like shield, and curled up underneath the tree.

Odd... thought Frost, watching. Then, she sighed, ignoring Chantre's comment. After all, she was used to it. Grasping her magic, she created her sheild, extending it to encompass everyone but Haruko and Chantre, using water from the stream to strentghen it. When she finished, it was as if they were enclosed in a huge, upsidedown glass bowl. She then went and laid down close to the wall, the comforting feel of ice and magic lulling her to sleep.

Huh. Ice magic. Endorphin walked up to the dome, placing a hand on it experimentally. Well, that was actually kinda interesting. Certainly nothing could get in or out and...
His traing of thought broke off. He hadn't eaten nearly as much as he usually did! And the others were going to sleep? What it he needed a snack? There wasn't much to eat in the clearing besides foliage, considering that he couldn't start eating his companions. Yet. He grumbled - oh yes, ice-girl would be the first course once he started, this sealed it. Should have known that these human types wouldn't be able to feed him properly. He sat down next to a shrub and began chewing on it, still fuming. After a little while (and a couple shrubs later) he was able to flop down and start snoring, confident that his sense of smell would warn him of danger.

Koumori resolved not to sleep. She was tired, a rarity for her, but she had studying to do. The ice dome prevented her from trying her fire, lightening, and generally all distructive spells, so she sat back down against the tree and glared at an ant, which promptly took the hint and ran for it.
She pulled a pebble out of the dirt, and made it float. It drifted around in circles, like a cloud, before it exploded. Too much dark energy.
