Well near as I can tell there are two stations that run anime's all the time. But I haven't really looked into it. Been spending my time watching CNN, Discovery, and History Channels. Trying to catch up with the world. So I don't have to constantly ask my friends if the US is at war with Iran, Syria, or North Korea yet. I guess I should take this oppertunity to actualy watch Anime's...but none of them are in English. Daggertooth

I know a few real good places you can find animes one is animesuki, where you can download fan subs ( its not illegal) until the anime is released either in the states of where ever you live

I've seen bits and pieces of manga and anime and have been intrigued but never pulled into them. I saw Vampire hunter D and enjoyed it and saw most of Outlaw Star, which fast became my favorite Anime series...or only anime series I've ever seen. I missed the last few episodes and need to rectify the situation. Recently I have been introduced to alot of flash video's and stuff. Things from newgrounds and such. I soon discovered that my favorite list was full of anime music videos....must mean that I am a fan. My favorite being a video to Oingo Boingo's, "No one lives forever". One of my favorite songs. And was done for an anime called "Wolf Rain". Currently I am trying to do what I have never done before. Download an entire video. I'm just downloading one episode to watch it, then delete it and download the next. Nothing for a personal collection. Good'ol fassioned honesty for you that has nothing to do with the fact that I lack the hardrive space or the CD burning technology to keep any of the episodes. I'm using limewire since its the only thing I have....taking a good while and I don't know the video's quality. If anyone has a better way to go about this then I could use the info. Daggertooth

I watch a lot of anime on Youtube, and the one i'm really hooked on right now is Ouran High School Host club. I love all the adorable characters! You can get tons of episodes on youtube. I am also watching xxxHolic, and reading HunterxHunter. I just finished bleach! *loves* I also read Naruto every week when it updates ^^

Zolah, if you don't mind a few recommendations...^^; I really like Excel Saga, it's insane and fun, and well worth looking into. I've just started Fruits basket, but the first six episodes have me hooked already. My personal favorite, and first ever anime, Rurouni Kenshin, is a good all-around story. ^^; If you've already seen any of these, then fantastic!

Lol, ive already seen everything beside fruitbasket XD Ruroni is a very 'delicius' anime, i mean nice art. good story, mixed with comedy. I recently saw a really fun anime wich can be found at animesuki, its called Karin. its about a vampire, who are a ' blood increaser'. Its very fun, and you have many laughs, though its a little ecchi in the intro song, since they have half nekkid pics of the character quite deeicivng since nothing in the anime have ecchi content.

Serial Experiments Lain is the best anime I have, and will likely ever, seen.

Exel Saga is pretty funny! I read a lot of manga, but I mostly stick to Manwha <Which is korean comics [read from left to right]>. Also most people who borrow Manwha from me <I'm like a Library!> don't seem to realise it's NOT japanese no matter how many times I tell them. Just pisses me off...

In serial experiments lain, things get very weird very quickly, and they stay that way. A schoolgirl commits suicide, but several days later her classmates receive e-mail from the dead girl. One--an introverted 13-year-old called Lain--replies, and her correspondent claims not to be dead, but to have passed into the "wired world." Eventually, Lain must join her. What follows is a story that combines virtual-reality, nanotechnology, a host of other science fiction concepts, and a healthy dose of postmodern paranoia. It would be unfair to reveal much more about the plot, but the phrase "nothing is what it seems" applies to just about everything in this compelling anime.
That summary wasn't written by me, but it's pretty accurate. The art is amazing, the mood is enhanced by the music and not cheapened by it like many animes, and Lain is quite possibly my favorite character.

Well my attempt at going deeper into anime failed. I downloaded half of the episode. It crashed and nearly destroyed my computer. What was there was only in Japanese...which would have been fine if the video worked at all. *sigh*
I suppose its back to memorizing Kanji untill I can read the comics. Funny how its easier for you guys to get readable anime than me and I'm actualy in Japan. Course you all know where to look. :-p

groups.msn.com/ATU-BOTI/maturehellsing.msnwHellsing is in the mature section, because of the excessive violence. There's the link. And Lain only exists as an anime, there's no manga of it that I know of. The anime can be purchased as a dvd collection, and the dvds come with dubbing. I'm sure google can help you out more than me when it comes to buying it.

Never saw this topic ^^.
Manga: Off course all the webcomics in 'My Favourite'. Not real manga, but who cares. I'm too lazy to count but I guess it's about 30 or more. Hard to keep up with. In june I began to read Naruto (volume 1 and 2), and I love it XD. I'm addicted to it. Amazing art and so funny. Everytime I had to laugh, my dad's face was like this: o.0'....I'm reading them in English, they don't have translations in Dutch, but Dutch sounds boring. So, I don't mind ^^.
My first encounter with anime: Medabots (didn't like it, now I just find it boring) Digimon (same reason) Yu-Gi-Oh! (again same reason as above) Beyblade (this one I liked, for a moment....) CardCaptor Sakura (tried to follow it, failed) Samurai Pizza Cats (I remember it vaguely) Dragonball (I liked it very much) Pokemon (I hated it, but I've seen some of it) Sailor Moon (same story as with Cardcaptor Sakura)
I saw a short movie of volume 1 of Naruto....I'm guessing it was spoken in Japanese. Glad I read volume 1 in English, it didn't make much sense to me ^^.

my first encounter with anime was silver fang and other anime published in sweden by 'Cartoon', there we had stuff like... Sandy bell, the cave boy, oo9 and some others i cant really remember o.o ohoh! yeah, one more wich i love almost as much as silver. Towards the terra, its really good anime. most youve seen i count as advertisement anime, since there is so much things you can buy. i mean like pokemon etc, they have games, cards list is long... i dislike animes wich is made to advertise a toy... i wanted to strangle someone when i saw beyblade for an example... I think the first anime with somewhat advertisement for toys was sailor moon, lol i remember when sweden wass filled with sailor dools, pins, 'wands' etc... ^^''

I'm actually such a hypocrite. I hate Pokemon, but I do got a Pikachu-version of a Tamagotchi(?). Stuffed somewhere in a drawer full of old stuff, very old stuff ^^.
I wanted to get a volume from Naruto, so I would be less bored while I'm on vacation. But it won't be here for Saturday :[. And I leave on Friday...Crap...Should have listened to the voice in my head ^^.

Recently, I've been watching escaflowne I love it! I think you'd like it too, Zo-chan. Lots of pretty people with a good plot! Naruto isn't super long as a manga, but the anime has an eternity of fillers... I would suggest reading it, though! groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturnsThere's a no-download place to read it.

"Not super long"? It took me 37 hours without sleep to plow through it. And it was shorter then.

Hey, have any of you guys seen Naruto Shipuuden yet? I have! It rocks! The animation is smooth, and they did the dramatic stuff really nicely.
Loveless is also amazing :3

OK just found this topic (and forum, and comic) so I'm a bit late on this First anime I saw was Dragonball Z because it was on cartoon network then Pokemon for 2 seconds before it got lame >_> Ruroni Kenshin (first anime that was really good) .hack//sign (I would have loved to have actually seen more than like 6 episodes but I didn't) then I got into stuff that wasn't on tv starting with Trigun (good stuff even if it is short) Dragon Drive (great anime I need to finish watching it) DNAngel (another good one that I need to continue watching) Naruto (So much filler but I like it anyway) Bleach (I have only seen like 6 episodes but I like it unlike ryo) Manga First manga was shonen jump but other than that: Naruto (got it from a friend so w/e) Great Teacher Onizuka (didn't much care for this one so never bothered to read more than vol 1) King of Hell (I love this manga and it is without a doubt my favorite) Deathnote (I love this one too but I think I like King of Hell more) And that does it for me but on a side note my brother uses baka-updates.com for anime/manga
