I don't really care about graphics but I have noticed that my gamecubes graphics are better. It might be just my PS2, but it can't run large games, it's really slow, and the dvd player doesn't work. It has the gamecube on quantity but not quality.
Longer is good, but graphics aren't that big a deal.
I concede to that one.
Never understood the apeal to shooters. Though GUN was pretty amazing. First person shooter is not the only genre for 360.
You really should check out some other Nintendo games. I can tell ya, your missing out. And don't forget, Mario/metroid/pokemon/ect. are not the only games for it.
I do like Mario games. Oh and have you seen the new zelda game coming out? The style is a lot like ocarina of time.
Anyway, I'll admit the PSP looks pretty awesome. But I really don't see much apeal in the PS2/PS3.

Never said FPS was the only thing they had, just one of the only things I ever heared about.
My PS2 hasn't given me much trouble at all. DVD runs fine, games only glitch once in a rare, rare while. Of course I run it in a nearly surgically clean environment. Might have something to do with all the cleaning lessons that were thumped into my skull as a kid.

I really enjoyed Arcanum, it IS diverse. I guess the limiting part was the character development in some places. I mean, Virgil is like the ONLY character aside your own with character development from start to finish. But anyway, yeah.
I've been playing Xenosaga(the first one), and though it's kinda fun to play, I haven't had the motivation to finish it just yet.
I LIKE Kingdom Hearts. And the sequel. Okay, so what if it uses Disney Characters? Some of it's cheesy--okay...a LOT of it's cheesy. But it's also simple fun, and there ARE elements of Final Fantasy(I don't just mean the FF characters). The Keyblade is a ridiculous weapon, but who cares? There are more ridiculous games. I'm not saying one can't make fun in a sarcastic and condescending tone, or even remark on what the game designers might have "consumed" for inspiration, but there's no need to put down the WHOLE game just because you have a problem with Disney.
Off topic a bit: Disney used to be decent. The movies were good. I don't know what convinced them that making perpetual terrible sequels was a good idea, but they've ruined themselves. When you're a kid, though, movies like The Little Mermaid and Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast are remarkable stories with music. Oh...and Lilo and Stitch was good. ^^ Back on topic.
I'm not MUCH of a gamer. I play Guild Wars, and recently bought Factions. I'd love to play other MMORPGs, but I can't afford the online fees. I love playing RPGs in general, Final Fantasy 6 being the catalyst that changed me from Super Mario Bros. and Mortal Kombat to RPG-type games, but I still try some other games based on reccommendations. I loved playing Soul Calibur 2, but the game that freaked me out was Fatal Frame 2. *shudder* I can't play it too well. I get too easily freaked out. But anyway. Uhm.
^^ I can't think of what else to say.

I don't like Kingdom hearts much, mostly because they mauled many of my favorite characters, and there were two disney characters in the main party, and not a single final fantasy one. I think it'd have been better if it was a little more... Fair. But, anyway, it was amusing. I did enjoy the sharp contrast, I mean playing a final fantasy-esque game with real time combat. The voices made my ears bleed, but, I mean, what can you do? I just don't particularly enjoy the game as a whole, sorry. I can see where you're coming from ^^ Some opinions differ.
In response to the off topic: Yeah, I loved their old movies. That was before they started on the CG talking animals phase. Their movies used to be quality.... They have ruined themselves. When I was a kid, I loved the fox and the hound, and the lion king, and mulan...

I understand how it can be frustrating not to have a final-fantasy-ish team, and not ALL the voices are bleedworthy. Though, Mandy Moore doing Aerith and LANCE FREAKING BASS doing SEPHIROTH made me weep. Not to mention Haley Joel Osment as the main character. I DO understand what it's like to watch characters get butchered- that's why I do actually detest small PARTS of the game. Overall, though, the plot is an adventure designed for kids in the "tween" group who might just have started gaming or playing RPGs. (The first one actually felt the need to TEACH you how to WALK).
I think part of enjoying the game is swallowing what the Japanese thought was a good way to combine the main story with the stories of those individual movies. It's usually the Americans who take a knife to the dialogue and make it worse. xD one of my favorite scene so far is with Tifa asking Sora and the others, "Have you seen someone with spikey hair?" and while Donald and Goofy kinda look at Sora, Sora feels out his spikey hair. Tifa laughs, and says, "No, MUCH spikier!" ...Makin' fun of Cloud. Hee.
I can never forgive them for the "Oogie Boogie" fight, though.

Emulator programs? I have a few, Genesis, Super Nintendo and NES, what is it you need?
If I don't have it, I still have a few good connections. I just might be able to hook you up.
By the way, which might and magic do you have? Any chance you'd be willing to send it my way via messenger or something?

Holy crap holy crap holy crap. Have any of you heard of Riven? I'll bet you have. See, my brother used to play all these games, until he moved to the PS2 and WOW, so he left me a little stack of games he never ever played anymore when he left for college, and I never looked at them again. Today, my mom told me to clean up the computer area, and I found this little cache of games. And for some unexplainable reason, the case for my brother's Riven CDs caught my eye, and I took them out to take a better look. I've just barely installed it tonight, and it is a creepy, creepy, creepy game with the most awsome soundtrack to a game I've ever heard. Man, they don't give you ANY information whatsoever, you just sort of have to pray that you're going in the right direction. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!

To revive a completely dead topic just because I'm new and love gaming, In response to the no money situation for MMORPGs I am completely in the same boat, however Raganrok online is completely free (as long as you are on a "private" server, but don't worry they're everywhere ;P) If you are interested in trying it there are a LOT of servers for this game and each one is slightly different as you can customize the maximum level, maximum stat, amount of experience per kill, drop rates for items, the works. Go to ratemyserver.net if you want a great resource and a bunch of servers. I personally play on lightside legends which you can get through clownphobia.com It is a great game with over 14 different character classes and a nifty system where you can "reborn" as an advanced version of the class you were before once you have met the level requirement. Another redeeming feature of this game is their level up system, where you have a "base level" and a "job level". Your base level is for stats, and your job level is for skills, every time you change jobs or advance a class your job level resets making it easy to level up again, for a short time. I have a lot of fun with this game if you are interested in hearing more PM me I would love to have some more friends on the game

CTV does not in any way condone or encourage the use of free servers as they are kind of not legal.
And with the legalities out of the way ^_~ Other games with that type of server include: Lineage II World of Warcraft
As for beautiful games... I love the Myst series. So beautiful. So complex.

Ragnarok has these legally I wouldn't post anything that was illegal as a link >_<. Sorry if this came across the wrong way. The servers don't charcge you to play but they do pay the company and run off of donations, so it is legal. I probably should have mentioned this previously so I apologize.
clownphobia died so there is a new site at legendro.net

Ah don't worry about it ^_~ I just have to add the legal jargon. You'll note the listing I gave of other games ^_~.
What is clownphobia?

Actually Ryo, Lineage 2 doesnt have any servers anylonger - only a few that is hosted in other countrys. the creator of L2 ( NCSoft ) called in FBI to get rid off all private servers wich made it to end up with a huge debt for many servers - for example L2 Paradise who had a debt on 500 thounsand dollars ( or more i dont remember rly ) since they took payments so people could get better weapons etc

Clownphobia was the website hosting lightside legends, but that particular site died and moved. Still the same people just different website. I don't even know why they moved actually....

It happened some months ago, it is listen on L2 official site ( go check news ). if you go to one of the most famous ones you come to a site where it says with large text that the site is illegal etc fbi markings everywhere ^^; it will though take longer for fbi to close some servers since some of them are hosted in countrys further away. and as a reaction to the free server loss many started to play the retail version.

I'm not an online gamer. Mostly because there's no end to them. You just keep going and going and going.....
If anything, I'd play City of Heroes. If only it didn't cost monthly...
I'm more of a console gamer. Have been since I could talk. Ah, my old Sega Genesis. Such fond memories. Now, I have a brand-spanking new Nintendo Wii, and I am (im)patiently waiting for Smash Bros. Brawl to come out.
December 3rd......it's going to seem like an eternity.

I used to play everquest, quite a bit. But I've stopped playing online games, now just stick to console games. I haven't got a revolution yet, I'm waiting for brawl and the price to drop I guess.

I think once I'm ready to buy it I'll see if the employees know what I'm talking about. If they don't know what a revolution is, I'll ask for a nintendo. =P

Something worth having a look at is Eclipse, a free MMORPG maker a friend of mine made. It's the main focus of www.freemmorpgmaker.com/ and it has a rather active community. Also, for running old games, there's a program out there called Dosbox, which is just a dos emulator and can run all those old games. I don't remember where to download it, but it can be found on most good abandonware sites.

I think that the game topic requires rejuvenation.
Topic: Starcraft 2.
Discuss :3

There is so much to discuss I couldn't even begin, and that's without watching any videos and stuff on the web about it. First off, I'd like to say it's ABOUT TIME they made this, as Starcraft has been out 10 years or longer, with holding popularity even today, and yet they never did a Starcraft 2. I'm ecstatic that they're actually doing it at last.

I've never really been much of an RTS person to be honest. Starcraft is one of the few from that particular genre that I play. I'm pretty pumped myself. Especially for the mothership :3
To be honest though, I'm a bit more excited about Super Smash Brothers Brawl....

That is also going to be an epic game. Sadly, it was pushed back to being released in February or something of next year, but when it comes out, AWESOMENESS will ensue.
