T_T Well, your replacement for "damn" makes no sense if used in "damn it."

oh...yes... I'm definitely gonna scan the images for my style. you do it too. Odin, we need to know how to draw you, and we should all figure out what webcomics we will first review. I nominate myself as someone who will do more bizarre webcomics (usually), so I'd like to start with "Great." You may have seen some ads for it around recently.

I'll upload my *ahem* "sketches" ('cause they're more detailed than sketches) when I can.

I spell checked your censored words. But if you guys checked the rules I did say in them that swearing wasn't so much prohibited as not encouraged. Also I added one censored word that I found hilarious from teh awkward zombie forums. I have a few tektek designs if you don't mind working from that if not I'll sketch something up reall quick. I think I would like to review "Girl Genius" for my first review. I need to do more research on it first as it appears to be an award winning comic and that should be very much mentioned. Our first page should probably be an introduction of our characters though. Also I had an idea of setting up a profiles section on the forum for us and our avatars (I'm assuming they will have personalities that defer slightly from our own much like they are actors or something) so anyways here's some tekteks for now yes yes I know teh whole guy with a female avatar schtick is considered uncouth but this is a rather old character... one I'm rather fond of. she's also very violent so she's funny.

speaking of those rules what are you guys thoughts on them?
in other news Sushi your colorscheme is nice.

Personality-wise, I'm going to be a little bit more outgoing, and perhaps even rude. But still a good and intelligent guy. Still constructive too.

I did check the rules. Wasn't gonna censor anything, but since Jety did, I figured I'd at least make it funny. I like the new one.
These designs, I can work with.
And Odin bring up a point I'd not considered. Will our characters be us, different creations entirely (with different names, as if they were acting out our pre-written reviews), or just exaggerations/ modifications of ourselves? I had assumed it'd just be us, but I much like the concept of us having these "other guys" being the "face" of the comic.

Oh yes, the rules are. But how do we stop people from impersonating mods and admins with color text?
I thought we'd act out as aspects of our whole.
my parts would be my admiration, criticizing, polite and joking selves. None of my other bits usually.

P.S.- As it states, it's quickly drawn. I forgot a few things, but whatever. Interesting thing, we all got hats. I'm usually wearing one of mine.

I am almost invariably wearing my hat. Indoors and out, it is an awesome hat.

all of my characters must have a hat at some point. Aside from the missing sunglasses and tattoo she looks fine (maybe go sleeveless on the shirt and shorten the hat poof by about half) as for her shirt. somehting similar to the link possibly tilted on it's side but not quite the same because that is a leagally owned design by the Foglios. airshipstore.com/images/products/display/pin_gearheart.jpg

Goodness, it took me a while to figure out what you meant there (or what I can only logically assume you meant). The punctuation isn't clear. You want that type of design on the shirt, right?

right. was in a hurry when I was running out the door.
To answer your questiong Jety about the colored text the moderators and administrators are marked so if we see anyone using that text that isn't one of us they is in trouble.

yup theres a report post feature so hopefully people will utilize it but then again theres three of us and no members for now so it's easy enough.
I thank you for taking the time to draw it jety. It's already better than anything I can do (I have a weakness where shoulders and hands get involve, and feet can never get them even)

A thought occurs to me gents We're starting this escapade by founding it on Amy's forum and we're known fans of the comic so starting off with it from the get go may look like shameless advertisement. Yes I can think of things that can be improved on but mostly those are things such as update rate and that is affected by real life right now so it's forgivable and downright not a problem from an objective view.
Therefore for the credibility of our reviews and Amy's review waiting till we've established a foothold of some sort on churning out reviews will be best. It also keeps Amy from getting nasty little PQs saying that we just said it's a good comic because she helped us out or something to that effect because people are stupid and like to try and find fault in others for no apparent reason.
I'm sure we've all thought about this but I feel it still needs to be said.

Mostly that was directed at Sushi anyways since we've both picked different comics to review first but yes trolls are bad.

so... Lets get this Started!
I'm waiting for Odin to think of something along the lines of guidelines, as it's really his project.

Yeah, me too. Maybe you could convert one of his reviews into comic form as a test for the format and work off it.

Post by Odin on May 31, 2011 3:19:23 GMT -5
really you've been waiting for me?
I was waiting on you two actually. I think our first comic should be purely introductory. In the meantime I'll convert my first review into computer text and we can dissect what's important from it. as far as guidelines go it's not my project so much as our project so i dunno.
so what should our oppening script be?

Well, alright then. Introductory first page. Seeing as our avatars will be characters corresponding to ourselves, as opposed to a direct equivalent of ourselves, we should outline their personalities. I'm making the assumption that they'll also have different names too, since they're not actually us and a female named Odin would be weird. Blah blah blah. Thoughts on this?

When on the internet I will and always shall be Jety Lefr. That IS my name up here. How long should they be? Strips? Pages? Pixels!? I have an idea already.
It also occurred to me that I forgot to upload the re-made Odin... oops. I'll have to re-draw it.

I think pages is better more room for pictures to offset the text.
That character... I think she can be called Seraphina. That should be fine.

Post by the1truesushiboy on Jun 2, 2011 2:24:49 GMT -5
And the draugr shall be named... Ragnar. It's a fitting enough name, and traditionally Norse, to boot.
Okay, I've spoken with Jety and it appears that Odin and I will have "characters", whereas Jety will have something more similar to a "self insertion" type of character (same name and more derivative of his personality and all that jazz).
To get the ball rolling on the introductory page, I'll outline Ragnar's personality: A stoic, mellow, clam and collected demeanor, but he never takes anything truly seriously. Has a mild penchant for turning topics of conversation to food, as he is always hungry and thinking about what (or who) might be edible. Might be prone to sudden and unexpected outbursts of a violent sort, though these are rare, but as quick as he is to lose his cool, he'll be back to normal again. Like me, he will be a sucker for a good pun (or a truly awful pun for that matter.) Despite his oddities, he should perform his job (webcomic-review co-host) acceptably well.
Any questions? (Btw, aniki, he'll have pitch black skin and his appearance will be only loosely based off myself. You can talk to me about any questions in that regard.)

I have a question. Should we start scripting on the forum or just keep going here since it's the inaugrul page and all.
I suppose I should outline Seraphina. Think Overly serious, just wants to get the job done, doesn't stand for screwing around. likes books. will likely clash with Ragnar in many respects now that I think on it.
This should be fun.
