Okay, I think I had better admit this now. I dont have this RP completely mapped out, and this will be my first time as a GM. There will be some room for plot developement concerning the characters that people decide to use, and I may even ask for help from time to time.
I do however, have the material, and a bit of the order down, so im hoping that will be enough for me to keep going.
This is the story dedicated to the treeborn, starring all my characters I have ever used in all the RP's on the CTV and DiT forums. I have brung together their worlds and now they shall join together to create my first ever GM'd RP.
This is pretty much the Charbyverse as far as I know, but to complete the reality of this world, I needed to go into further detail and if Amy goes a seperate direction, then the two worlds will seperate because I have no way of tapping Amy's mind completely and to do this RP I need a great amount of knowledge that isnt yet at my disposal.
So basically there are no restrictions for characters except no god-modding etc.
I think... that is it then. You can post your characters here if you want, or in a character thread.
I should say that I am probably not prepared for a lot of rapid-fire posters. I dont mind quick posting, but I dont want to end up excluding people who cant keep up, or ending up in situations where certain people are moving at a pace which is impossible in comparison with the pace that other characters are going.
If things get out of hand, I will step in. There is no time limit for new characters. You can basically enter at any time, but I would request a warning here before you add your character to the story to give me some planning time. There is no limit to how many characters can get in yet, but if room runs out, I may have to put a stop to new characters.

What sort of character should we play? I would like to create a new one, but I'm not sure of what type of character would fit best with your plot. A human? Treeborn? Something else? Or should I just approve a character? (This roleplay seems extremly interesting, and I'm certainly not gonna missit, so I can just build off of the type of character you need.)

Sure you can join Wolfchild. I would be honored.
Hmmm.... Well, Moss is going to be there, though not for a while, so I was hoping you could kind of play Suka, Shippo. I can understand if you dont want to though. If its okay, I still want to let Moss pine for her a little.
You could have two characters... im not opening up any rules against that.... Im sorry, I dont want to nag.
If you want to get right into the story, and you want to build a character directly around the plot, you could be a wolf or an assasin. Those types will leap right into the story quickest, and you'd have a character that directly came from the pre-set storyline, although, as I said, I am willing to let anyones character effect the stories plot.
You could be treeborn if you wanted. You'd have to come up with a big story though, or I could help you. That would probably get you into the thick of the plot pretty easily.
Okay, first request for help: I need names. Just like, random sylables that sound good is best. I need five of them for a band of demon assasins.

Czechoslovakian. I LOVE that word. You could build some pretty cool names around that. Random syllables? I can do that. Syg'lachikahn, Che'lugvan, Hyumah, just to name a few. I'm not joining, however, because I have a reputation of never being able to keep up.
Degumar, Schappluh, Magima, Tyabamu... It's easy to come up with names. Just start with a random noise, try to warp your mouth around it, and then just write down whatever comes out of your mouth.

Here are names that mean things : Kasaimaru-- One who fights with fire (I guess that makes him a firefighter XD) Mizumaru-- One who fights with water. I can do this name with any element, and even modify it to be "one who fights with souls" or something. Tsuchi--Earth, soil Yochi--foresight, premonition Chi-- Blood, thousand (many) Daichi--replace, ground (direct translation as a name: replacement land) Koudo--hades, advanced, intensity of light Ranpu--lamp, light Fuwa-fuwa--Airy Tomoshibi-- Light Assarishita-- simple, open hearted (Direct translation: Happy about tomorrow) Awai--faint, pale, fleeting shinmiri--solemn, sad Itomimizu--water worm/snake (dangerous eel) Awawokuu--One who is very confused If you want to have any names that mean something, lemme know. Now just names I make up (they still sound Japanese D:) Tsuribomi Harri Sanmaru (actually a type of rattlesname ) (Here's some German-sounding ones!) Goff Dann Kommis Zeichnen Naja Eigen Lichnen
Alright, that's all I got for now ^^
I could play Suka if you wanted. (I'm trying to sort her out right now, though, the edges of her personality have blended with couple of other characters ) I'd probably like to have another one, though. I could proabably think up a treeborn story, but that might mess with your plot. I could probably just make an assasin (I've been playing around with an assasin character >_<)

Good advice Dundee. You'd think that would be the sort of thing that would jump to a persons mind, but it didnt for me somehow.
That was for the syllables thing, not the you not joining thing. I just realized that my first statement could be interpreted cruelly.
Well, what if we make Suka one of the people who the main characters are trying to find at the beginning of the story Shippo? Then you could have time to sort out her character. I know what you mean with having trouble with her personality. I have the same thing with Moss now.
Well, if you were an assasin, you would have to be on this band of demons right? And you would have to be given powers and some preexisting relationships with the other people on your team. The personality, and way he or she effects the plot after the RP starts would be up to you.
I could give you the information, and then you could decide if you wanted a character like that.
Or I could help you come up with a treeborn character. The choice is yours.
Hmmm... we need more people. Im probably intimidating with all my talking.

Well, I guess I could get back in the roleplaying game. How do you think of a bat-demon type person? He's been flying in my head for a while now, but I can't decide whether he'll have 4 limbs or 6.

A bat demon could be cool. I'd be happy to have you along! If you fall behind im sure something can be worked out too, so the pressures not enormous.

Grand! I'll just think of a backstory that'll relate to the Treeborn. That should be pretty easy... I'll just pretend that Flying Foxes are regular forest bats, without all the hassle of trying to find a suitable species. Hmm... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Pulk’tea(PULK-tay) Pikeipae(pee-KI-pay) Race: Chiropteran Pteropid (Flying Fox) Slang: Pulk(Pulk'tea's shortened name), Batboy(youngling), camp(community of bats), brethren(people in age group) Age: 15 bat years, 30 human years. 15 in mind.
Colors: A golden/black ruff of fur surrounding his small dog-like head, with grey-silver fur on his body. His wings are silvery brown. Ears: Unusually large for his camp, but still small and rounded Eyes: Large, round, liquid chocolate brown Diet: Fruit, nectar, and pollen; primarily liquid food sources
Pulk was raised in a camp of some 5-dozen, in a copse of trees near where the legendary Tree of Life was thought to be hidden, and all his life he and his generation were threatened with stories of the mysterious Treeborn. As such, all his brothers and sisters brushed the stories away as wives’ tales, but the little batboy knew better… One dawn, as his mother had been calling for his brethren to come back up to the trees, he’d caught a glimpse of a moon-white eye. Frozen, Pulk’s brown eyes met that one, lonesome orb, neither blinking, until his mother dragged him off by a sensitive ear. Screeching, he followed her, but not until he saw that eye disappear back into the gloom of day, a whiskery tail following after. That was how he knew the tales to be true, but did not dare to share this information with the rest of the camp. Their elder was not a pleasant bat, and she did not take to nonsense well. Thus, only Pulk knew exactly what was happening when their trees were one morning suddenly full of winged beings with strange weapons, and despite the horribly bright sunlight tried to escape. He was going well, until he started hearing the cries of pain from the rest of the camp. Pulk was conflicted; it was only possible to escape the Treeborn by escaping, but if he left his camp now, he’d always be known as a traitor, and the sun above was spoiling his thoughts and scattering them like dreams. Finally, he turned tail to go back to the camp, but it was too late; the trees were scorched, their limps washed in blood and draped with dismembered wings. At this point, he went unconscious; whether with the heat, the gore, and the knowledge that he really was a traitor, or all above, but his frail body couldn’t handle it any more. Many years have gone by since then, but he’ll never forget the day he betrayed the camp. He hates and respects the Treeborn, because he never really learned why they destroyed his home. If he ever learned the truth, his opinion would fall, and hate the species even more for being under the control of someone else.

I guess I should post what little bio I have of Serin, hmm? Name: Serin Moonchaser (Yes, I like using 'Moon' in last names.... >.>) Sex: Female Race: Vampire (Technically, she's a Ravnos vampire, but... I don't think people want me to be that technical. >.>) Age: She was turned at the age of 21 Appearence: Long (extremely long, it goes past her knees even when pulled up into a ponytail. ^^; , straight dark brown hair that is pulled up when she isn't performing, extremely dark brown eyes, and she dresses in typical gypsy garb. Has a ruby amulet that she stole from a mage long ago, which protects her from the sun. Personality: She tends to be very apathetic, but she is also a very talented actor, and feigns emotion quite well. She is a bit manipulative, and enjoys convincing others to do things for her. Enjoys dancing and acting, and is quite good at both. Doesn't reveal her vampiric nature until she absolutely has too. History: Beyond saying that she has been a gypsy since she was twelve, Serin prefers to keep her past a secret. She travels from town to town, performing for money to take care of herself and her horse, a paint she calls Sharlei. Abilities: She is an illusionist. Also very agile and swift. Good with daggers, which she keeps hidden in her skirt. Weaknesses: Depending on how long it has been since she has fed, the sight of blood could wreck her self-control and make her temporarily lose her sanity. Sunlight will kill her if she loses her medallion. She can't stay for too long in one place. Very few, if any, friends. Prefers letting others fight. Her habit of lying and twisting the truth to suit her purpose makes her very untrustworthy. ........ Yeah... I think that covers it... >.> Her outfit is like Esmerelda's from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". (I'm watching it now and just realized it. ^^;

Alright! I think we will be able to start soon. It probably will be a small RP to start, but just reminding people that they can join at any time!
I just need to sort out Shippo's character. Shes going to be a partially pre-made character from Team Rehiro. Yeah, anyone whos played hired by a thief will know Sekou. The weird insane dude who tarnished my name. Jerk. But now hes back with all his former glory and more! And hes doing what no other of his species has been able to do....

You guys are cool The main problem, in all honesty is that I cant think of a reason that would make all of these guys decide to go on a journey together. Its my blunder I know, but if you guys have any ideas then im open. All you have to basically know is that Trandar is off to find Moss and Suka, after they vanished mysteriously and he has the help of a giant mystical spirit wolf from another dimension. theres about four other sides to the story that would be in play simultaneously but none other concerns your character. Except Shippo's.

Ooh! Ooh! I know! Pick me! *waves hand frantically in the air* Suppose one of your characters is a heroic sort.... And a villain-type person decides to lay a trap, spreading a rumor that a friend of that heroic person is in trouble... Why then, that hero would drop everything and do everything he can to save that person in trouble, correct? That'd be fun.
Another thing, if you're interested in developing your characters, is to listen to your favorite songs and see how they apply to your characters. For example, listening to a song from one of my favorite plays, "Les Miserables," inspired the dying scene of a villain-turned-good guy in a story I wrote a while ago.

Hrm.. Well, if Serin came across Trandar and the wolf (Is it Digger? ^^; , she would probably just follow out of curiousity. Serin: ... Why would I care? how often do you see a cat and a dog working together? Serin: ... Hmm... You do have a point. Precisely. Anyway... why does anyone ever go in a group? Either they have a personal reason, or they're curious as to what will happen. ^^-

Okay, good advice, but usually theres a catch, like a person is hiring bodyguards or seeds are connecting peoples fate through magic or something. If I can get you guys to go along with a technique I learned from Zolah, could you please give me a sort of list of your characters flaws and merits? This is so I can see under what circumstances I might hook them into going on an adventure.
And no its not D***** Wolfchild, I got in trouble for using that name, so now its Sprinter, but yeah, basically its the same guy.

Oooooh. Okey. ^^ Also, I think I already posted Serin's flaws and merits... But here it is again:
Flaws: Not very trustworthy, apathetic, bloodlust...
Hmm... Merits are more difficult... Would her manipulativeness be a merit? She likes dancing and acting... Umm... faster, stronger, more sensitive senses (probably not as good as, say, a wolf's, but pretty close, I guess...), but beyond that... I don't know. ^^;;

|
Post by Dundee on Oct 30, 2006 22:39:57 GMT -5
Faults and merits? Hmm... Pulk's faults: Naive, fairly weak, little stanima, weak eyesight, a bit mischievious... In fact, a LOT mischievious. It's very likely there'll be one person in the group who'll constantly be the butt of his jokes. When he isn't pulling pranks, he's angsting about his horrible past. *rolls eyes* Merits: Unspoiled, can get ANYWHERE and hear ANYTHING, very quick reflexes... For example, if a theif chose to sneak up on him, he'd be caught before he'd even touched Pulk's valuables because he heard the theif's quickened heartbeat. VERY useful.
