Sara sighed. These people are boring... Like everything else in life... She looked at Ragweed. He's sort of interesting looking... Sara liked the look of his wings.
((Sara is pronounced "Sah-rah" not "Sere-rah." Just an FYI ^^))

As Mikara knocked the glass aquarium off the shelf and onto the floor, where it shattered, sending shards of glass flying every which way, The rat-thing inside began to change. It's very form melted, and shifted, dissolving and growing to something almost human, but with unnatural, elongated fingers that made one think of a bat's wings, and large, glowing green eyes. It was covered in a thick, black ooze, and as it grinned, it revealed three horrific rows of teeth. Where the slime hit the floor, the wood began to rot, coiling and putrid. The very shadows seemed to writhe to get away from it, and yet it was cloaked in darkness.
Viktor and Koumori hugged eachother in terror, backing up against the wall, while Ragweed promptly fainted. Seemingly, only Var remained in control. He produced another one of thos pinkish-red cubes, and hurled it at the thing. It burst, this time forming a bow like barrier around everyone in the shop, but for the thing, which twisted it's vile head around, mockingly, before seeping out through the door.

"ROWR!" Mikara hissed, beating on the barrior. she clawed at it vicously, every instinct screaming at her to kill the rat-thing.

Var ran over to Ragweed, and shook him awake. The faery blinked his amber eyes owlishly, murmering something incomprehensible, and probably better left untranslated, before jolting into full wakefullness.
Koumori pushed Viktor away from her, and the thin boy hugged his Emmeline, staring blankly at the wall, hoping that nothing had happened.

Mikara kept beating at the barrior, growling, her tail lashing violently.

Ragweed practically jumped out of his skin as he leapt to his feet, slurring his words together in an effort to express himself. "Gerraway frae' there! Did-" he gasped for breath. "Did you see that thing?! It'll bloody melt you!"
"We need to get out of here," murmered Var, pulling on an overcoat. "That thing wasn't... Natural. Not a part of this world... I think there might be more."

"Not before I kill it..." Mikara growled, though in response to Ragweeds comment or Vars was unclear.

Emmeline bristled silently, dead eyes locked on the beast-creature. It had looked around the room. More importantly, it had looked at her. She was sure of it. The shopkeep had said that it wasn't part of this world... she contemplated this slowly, trying to keep her unease from distressing Viktor more than necessary. It could very well be able to see her for what she was, if it were attuned to her sort of aura, the kind that wasn't wholely earthly...

Viktor hugged his Emmeline, his eyes darting about. Koumori kept an eye on him... And that doll. It still managed to scare her, if only a little. What did you call it? Autonomatonophobia or something.
Ragweed rolled his eyes, and it was clear how uneasy this whole situation made him. "Kill it?!" he next to shrieked, his voice growing higher pitched with every word, "Yeah, sure. Kill it. It's not even... Not even... REAL!" That made perfect sense. That sort of thing just didn't exist in this world- not in the least. Maybe Somewhere Else, but not here.

Mikara growled, whirling to look at him. "Then why are you keeping it here? That...thing...is worse than kitten-murderer..." she growled, aproaching him slowly, her tail still lashing about wildly.

"Do you honestly think that I'd have kept it in such weak shackles on purpose?!" Ragweed snarled. "We were waiting for the authorities to arrive and take it to the mage tower up town. If you hadn't broken the glass-" Var stepped in, placing a hand on Rag's shoulder, and one on Mikara's shoulder. "We just need to get out of here. If that thing lets others of it's kind out... I don't know what will happen."

Emmeline agreed whole-heartedly. So far, her host and his... friend had escaped notice. It would be best if they slipped out and went Somewhere Else. Somewhere far enough away - or well enough protected - that the creature would have trouble following. Yes, Viktor. It is time for us to leave.
((Once Emm starts actually directly talking to Vik, her words will be italicized ^^))

Viktor tugged at his friend's sleeve, and the pale, hooded girl shrank away, but he didn't seem to have noticed. "Kou... I think we should get out of here." "Mori. Should we go with them?" She gestured towards Ragweed, Mikara, Sara and Var. "They seem to know what it is... Maybe if we stay by them, we won't get hurt."
Var turned around to face the whispering children. "This might sound stupid, kids... But you're going to have to come with us."

Emmeline didn't like this. If her Viktor was split from the group, the creature would likely go for the bigger prize - the shopkeeper, his assistant, and the strange girls. But... the creature might also be drawn to the easy prey. And if it had seen her, had known... She remained silent for a moment.
Yes, Viktor. Them. Go with them, they will keep us safe.

Viktor looked up at the shopkeeper, and then to Koumori, and then he nodded. He held his Emmeline carefully- she was important.
"Good," said Var, sorting through his overcoat, which seemed to be made of pockets. "We'll need to be quiet- I think there might be others like it. Ragweed?" "Sir!" the short, scrawny, ferret-faced little faery stood to attention for once. "Take what you need. We have a few healing potion, but nothing special... Keep everything light- we'll need to be able to run."

Sara generally followed the group wherever they went. She didn't really care about the rat-thing-who-was-no-longer-a-rat-thing, but she didn't want to die. That would be... Troublesome. Almost as troublesome as this cat girl...
"Yes. It was your fault. But there's no use sulking about it. Yeah, you broke the glass, yeah, it was a mistake, but don't get your tail in a knot. These things happen. Now, stand up, before Sara pulls on your necklace again." Sara's eyes looked cooly at the nekojin, her face not showing a trace of compassion.

Ragweed suddenly decided that he liked Sara. Not [/i]liked[/i] liked, of course, but she made sense, an oddity in the curio shop. His wings fluttered slightly as the wall evaporated into ashes, which were carried away on a breeze that floated in through the wide open door. He set about gathering what he thought he would need; his dagger - the only weapon he posessed, a coat designed to allow his wings free motion, and several seemingly empty bottles. "Are we gonna get going or not?"

So, she was already going on a journey, after being awake for less than an hour. Strange how such oddities happened around her. She thrummed quietly to herself, wishing the others would hurry up. That thing would come back to the store before it tried anywhere else.

Ragweed occupied himself by crouching over the floor where the unnamed thing had stood, and examining the rooting wood. He produced a hooked, metallic intrument out of his coat pocket, and prodded it, none too gently. Immediately, with a faint hissing sound, crumpled and oozed into whatever lay beneath the floor. "Heh... I can see my room from here..."

Emmeline quelled her instinct to tell the boy to get out of there. He wasn't her host, and it was none of her business if he got himself killed. She really did wish they'd hurry it up, though. Her impatience was starting to leak.

Sara looked at the cat girl, slightly irked-looking.
"You don't have to hiss at Sara..."
