Sara held the chain directly above the pendant, her black eyes narrowing. Hm. Interesting. Exact properties of gold, yeah, probably gold. Magic on it, neh, I'm not a magic expert... Nothing unusual, except... The chain doesnt seem breakable. Puzzling. Sara's face showed no real emotion, only a slightly twitching upper lip. She was irked.
"Hm. Seems normal. There's some sort of magic on it, and the chain will not break. Now, Sara is going to try to take it off of you, so don't scream or anything, kay..."
Sara pulled on both sides of the chain, pulling in directly vertical parallel paths to either side of the cat-girl's head. They were carefully calculated so that her head would not get in the way.
It should come off... Hm. This might be slightly interesting. Maybe. Her face remained emotionless, except for the turn of her lip.

PAIN. Mikara shreiked in pain, and twisted away from the girl, scampering across the shop on all fours. She reached the wall and flipped around, back arched, fangs bared, and tail straight up. "MRRRRROW!" she growled.

Emmeline watched the girl intensely, feeling the fragile new bond with her host stretch. She let it exist as it was for a moment, then began sending little signals of unease and worry back to him, expertly enough so that he thought they were his own emotions. Ever so slowly, she increased the anxiety. If she was kept away from him too long, it would become overpowering.

Viktor bit his lip. "Koumori... Might I have my Emmeline back?" He inched foreward. His doll was special- it- she- should not be harmed. Koumori shrugged. It still creeped her out- it was almost as though it was watching her with those swirling, rainbow eyes. She handed it back to her friend, and grinned. "You know... You're acting more girly than I do!"
"Gah!" The faery jumped backwards, narrowly missing a shelf of needles, pins and other sewing equipement- thank gods!

The doll relaxed as soon as she was once again in her host's grasp. How lucky - the boy was extremely receptive, and he was already oh so attatched to her. They really were endearing at this stage. She resonated with feelings of warmth and contentment. Yes, yes, boy, you owned little Emmeline, and no one else could touch her or take her from you.

slowly, Mikara calmed down, and her tail relaxed bit by bit. She Slowly stood up, and made a show off brushing off her skirt and adjusting it. Running her hand over her ears, she walked back over to ragweed, carefully avoiding Sara. She didn't quite trust the girl anymore. Her hand went up to finger the necklace again.

Viktor smiled. Yes- this was his Emmeline. Doll. Emmeline. He decided that she was special- but he needed to get something for Kara! He couldn't give up his Emmeline... Did he even have enough money for her? He glanced around the shop, eyes darting nervously.

Emmeline felt the boy - Viktor? Viktor - becoming distressed. Quickly she sent calm into him. It's all right, little Viktor. Everything will work out fine, your Emmeline will make sure of that. She was just an old doll, after all. Nothing magic, no real value. She wouldn't cost much, not Emmeline. There were many pretty trinkets he could get his sister, surely, just look...

Viktor looked around for something to get his sister. Surely, there was something... A stuffed bear! She liked those, but had traded the last one for coins... Mother had used those to buy dinner... He spotted one- a black, much patched velveteen bear. He could afford that, and his Emmeline. He smiled, and picked it up off the shelf. "D'ya think she'll like it, Kou?" "-Mori. I thought you were getting her the doll." The pale girl gave the seemingly innocent thing another glare.

"Okaaay... So no removing the necklace. Hmm... I wonder what holds it on there..." Ragweed's left wing fluttered ever so slightly, and something under his hair twitched. Pain... Pain... Pain. What was the purpose of the necklace? The cat-girl hadn't said anything about it. "You didn't answer any of my questions. Wheredya gettit? Who put it on? When?"
Var swooped down at them from behind the counter, moving rather more quickly than one would expect fro a human. "What's all the ruckus about?"

"...it was...a gift...from...from a person i considered my friend..." she said answering the first, and only the first, question. Her ears drooped and her tail wrapped around her legs, indications of her sadness.

"Evidently, you thought wrong- ACK!" his sentance was cut short as he ducked on reflex at Var's raised fist.
The shopkeep rolled his eyes, and then smiled warmly. "You'll have to forgive him, Miss... He's a bit of an idiot. Are you allright?" he placed a reassuring hand on the cat-girl's shoulder. One of these days, he was going to do something about that little insect...

Mikara purred softly and nodded. She liked this person. "...I guess so...I don't know why he did it...when I went to find him, the entire village was...deserted..." she said softly, her hands twisting together.

"Do you remember where the village is? Maybe there are some answers there." As he spoke, he examined the necklace. He wasn't as experianced with magic as he'd have liked to be- that was Ragweed's department- but he couldn't help but be intruiged.
The faery-boy tapped his foot on the ground, and spotted the mess caused by the fallen shelf at the other end of the shop. "Egads allmighty!" he rushed over to the pile of trinkets, anxiously sorting them back into a pile. Apparently, apart from his own physical appearance, he was something of a neat-freak.

"..." Mikara didn't say anything, her tail twitching. Her ears pressed against her head. "...there aren't," she said finally, sounding irratated.

MIkara's ears perked up suddenly. She had been distracted by something again. SHe walked around Var and appraoched the thing that had caught her interest, tail waving slightly. "...prrrrrrow?" she said softly.
(OOC:...i've no idea what it would be...it's your shop. Just something that would distract a cat.. ^_^)

Var turned and watched as she approched the shelf behind the counter. "Eh-" "Ack! Carefull!" Ragweed flitted in front of her, protective of that shelf, the contents of which were odd- a slowly moving model of some other solar system, within a glass globe, the central star glowing with almost blue light, a spool of silver thread, half used up, held in place with a darning needle, and a fish tank, containing a large, black rat with bright green eyes.

Mikara glided around Ragweed, staring at the rat. "...rat..." she said softly, ears perked forward. If she still had whiskers, they would be quivering. She hissed slightly at the rat, exposing her fangs.

...But the rat hissed back, and seemed to grow, it's eyes gleaming. "Watch it!" Ragweed cried, "That isn't a rat!"
Var stood still, almost dumbfounded, before he snatched a small reddish pink cube out of his pocket, hurling it at the rat's tank, where it formed a dark red, pink streak wall between Mikara and the rat.

"MRRRROW! FSSKKKT!" Mikara hissed, leaping back. her tail lashed violently before she could pull herself together. She turned to Var, running her hand over her ear. "...what?" she asked, sounding bored.

"It's not a rat. It just looks like one... It's sort of like a... Hobgoblin of sorts. I think. I caught him by chance." Var seemed nervous, watching the rat-thing stare furiously at the wall of pink.
"It's a bloody evil rat," grimaced Ragweed, scratching the back of his head. "Bad temper, to."

"Rat," Mikara stated firmly, glaring at the wall. Her hands twitched, claws aching to crush the kitten-murderer.

Emmeline watched the scene with a disjointed sort of interest - made fuzzy by the happy glow of a brand-new host. She wold let him scamper about as usual for a while, she decided. He would need only gentle guiding at first. Later she would decide the time to start Speaking to him.

Sara looked annoyed. The necklace irked her. But, she didn't care about it anymore. She glanced around, looking bored. She itched her cheek with her index finger.

mikara growled softly, staring at the wall. She was waiting to see if it would go away soon. She wasn't comfortable with letting a kitten-murderer live, no cat would be.

After a few minutes, the wall melted away, and turned to ashes, which Ragweed immediately swept up.
Var grimaced. "You'll have to be carefull around that thing, you know... It's dangerous."

Mikara nodded, walking over to the shelf as if she was examing the other objects. Then, she suddenly pounced on the aquarium the rat-thing was in, growling loudly.
