Lai heard someone else coming and whimpered softly. The tattered remains of her wings curled around her.

Mystery's eyes snapped open. He was stunned to take in the bright new scenery, and it took him a moment to find Lai and her wings. "Okay..." he breathed, lifting his head off the floor, "not human..." Next question, what was she? And was she going to eat him?

Felix gave a nod "A few, but most of those are only simple cantrips to charm or banish evil spirits. The books that teach the rituals to call forth hallowed dead are deeper in the library. I can't even read most of them." he says with a shrug "Only Chaosin priest are allowed to read into them."

Demon sighed -oh, no, i don't seek a book to summon hollow corpses, that comes naturally to me, i was looking for a way to summon the souls of the deceased. but i suspect it won't be easy to convince you to show them to me, right?- he said, peeking curiously inside the 'crow's eyes

Chance looked up from the book and dropped it in shock. He picked it up again, noting the changed title. "Kay..." He looked further around, and tossed a rock to experiment. He grinned as it continued unchanged. Shrugging off his trenchcoat, Chance stretched out his wings and took off, pumping straight for the castle.

Felix just gives a shrug and "looks" right back at Demon. "I would, but I need this job. For some reason I have a hard time getting jobs around here...for some reason most of the people I go to have interviews with run off screaming. Maybe its my breath." he says with another shrug "Although if you want to speak with spirits of the dead, you could always speak with my crows. They are tecnecly spirits. That where dead."
No one stops Chance or gets in his way, and most just seem to ignore him. If chance where to look down however he would notice that slightly see through white steps appear below him, and disappear once he passes them.

Chance smiled, reveling in the new feelings. Managing to stop quickly enough to avoid becoming halfling puree, he opened the door and took a look around.

The door opens relatively easily given its size. Inside there is the scent of incense burning, some alien plant that has a sweet smell. Inside are various mats, burners and torches around the room, the incense smell likely coming from the burner. This place is likely one of meditation and/or prayer, dozens of creatures of various spieces sitting around on mats, all silent with their eyes closed, save for a few who seem to be snoring softly. On the far side of the room are what seem to be pools of water, and beyond the pools are several rooms, likely containing alters and ceremony rooms.

Chance grunted a bit, and walked across the room to dangle a hand in one of the pools of water. "What is this place?" he asked, brightly tapping one of the meditating people on the shoulder.

Chance's hand comes out much cleaner then when he had put it in. The person he taps on the shoulder does not respond, having left his body behind at least a few hours ago, the guy still alive however. A female elf walks in and towards one of the pools, and convention cloud appearing to block off view from her (gotta love those decency clouds) as she disrobes, washes herself in the pool, then rerobes and steps into one of the shrine rooms, the door closing and locking behind her

Demon shrugged "thank you, but i don't want to 'speak' with spirits, i was planning on using them as fuel... anyways, where did that guy with the viking hat go?" he looked around, changing colors randomly

Chance smiled, and washed his hands before watching the girl. "Shame..." he muttered, picking a door at random and pulling at it.

(Sorry I was gone so long, have a bit of writers block and going through a bit of a depression. And before anyone says anything like "Oh do you need to talk" or acts all worried, I'm not suicidal. Just depressed. Something that needs to pass on its on. Anyway....)
-Lets go ahead and say the door that was opened was one of an unoccupied room. Inside is a small champer with an alter in the very middle of the room, a few normal candles set into the wall to give the room light. Hanging from the ceiling are also a few incense burners, currently empty and ready to hold any kind of incense one would wish. The alter in the center of the room look like a stone slab, just large enough for someone to place their head (or head sized religious item) apon. In one corner of the room are large cushions of various sizes, and a few stone planks, likely to help customise the alter for the worshipers needs.-
-Felix looks over at demon and shrugs- He may have left, or went to explore the rest of the libarary...that or perhaps found a book that interested him and picked him up. I do hope he does not get himself into trouble in them. -he shrugs a little bit and gives a little smile, a few tongues of flame flicking from his mouth- We ARE careful to keep people out of trouble, but...some people seem to look for them.

Chance looked around the room, and mumbled a bit to himself. Experimenting a bit, he tossed one of the stone blocks to get a feel for weight, and then placed it on top of the alter.

Mystery gawked at Lai for a while, before he realized he was staring and looked elsewhere. Stuff called books, birds, and shelves. "Um, hi, miss?" he called. Oh please please please let it not be a guy that I just called 'miss'! "What's your name... person?" he asked the ceiling lamely. "Fellow individual? Creature from another feature?" Mystery managed to shut his mouth before anything else escaped.

Nothing particular interesting happened when the stone landed on the alter. It just lied there for a little while. Which was likely a good thing. These alters had access to "neutral" energy which could be used to summon a number of deities, even mindless ones. After a while, the stone did start to glow briefly with light matching its normal color, and if Chance had done nothing else, the stone was kicked off the alter by some unseen force, floated over to its normal resting spot, and placed down.

To Demon: Oh you get transported to another world. These are basicly the "safe" books, in that they won't out and out kill you. Kinda like a car won't kill you. Unless it explodes. Or hits you at a high speed. Or crashes with you inside of it.
To Chance: -nope. Nothing at all.-

Chance grumbled a bit and looked around again. "Incense burners, alter... let's try this..." He bustled around a bit, lighting incense in some burners, and as the last step, took a medallion of Thor's Hammer from his necklace and put it on the alter.

The alter shakes for a little bit, glowing with a soft greyish light. Then, suddenly in the base the letters "Alter of Thor" appear carved into the stone
