Hey all,
City of Heroes ahhhh, my great time eater. I've been enjoying it lately.
Let me explain how I got into CoX. I am a gamer, I have to game, it is what I do. Used to be I got my fix from Nippon Ichi games and Magic the Gathering and life was good.
Sadly though my MTG group fell appart and our weekly games came to a close. So I had to look else where for my gaming fix. By nature I actually prefer non-video games like D&D and the like but alas there too things have fallen short and I've become disenchanted with forum RPGs due to my work scheduel making it very difficult to enjoy them.
So I turned to video games. I like to keep Amy company while she works and our Wii is the living room so I had to turn to computer games it & that is where CoX came in.
I very much enjoyed its character creator. Often times designing the look of your characters is more fun then actually playing the game.
I am however a Villain at heart and can't stand to play heroes (aka Blue Side) and so I only have villians.
My top villians are
Sibalence - A school girl turned undead Banshee
Revenant Shade - An assasin.
Neferia - a Pyromantic psychotic from an alternate dimension.
Mr. Mindscrew - A powerful psychic who likes to spread madness and terror.
Elisa Kaden - A vicious gang leader.
I usually plan on champion server and all my character are part of Crossbow Elite a super group we formed as a alternate universe answer to the in game NPC group Longbow (Which we hate with a passion).
I'm on champion server if anyone has the game and would like to look me up and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I would actually like to adapt some of the characters into some of my work particularly Naferia and Reventant Shade both of whom I feel have interesting storyline potential.
My favorite class is probably the Dominator but lately I've been on an assassin kick and thus have been playing Stalkers.
The game is fairly easy by MMO standards and cuts all the time wasting grind out which I like a lot about it. It is nice to be able to play for 20 minutes and have fun as well as play for 6 hours and have fun.
Anyone else here play CoX? If so share your story. How did you get into it? Who do you play as.
