( It crashed ages ago ) called dobedo, wich was a avatar chat forum. really awsome! too bad it isnt left anymore ^^ Rigth now im listening to daft punks around the world, its really nice. brings me back to the time when all the kids where standing on a dance floor waiting to be asked to dance ( while I were down by the jacket place and arm wrestled with the boys xD haha! ) it was music like Cher, Doctor Bombay, Bubbles, Aqua. Oh i remember how adorable i thougth barbie girl was ( lol ya didnt know that The Zo was a Aqua fan? i really loved the guy in the band - you know the bald one ? ) oh oh and i remember spice girls and all the collector photos you could buy xD i hated the band but i loved the photos funny enough :3 and Tv shows, oh man i so miss X-men! it was great <3 that was actually my inspiration to start drawing. first i saw the x-men series on TV3 and then i bougth the comic and started to scribble - I was in love with Gambit and Maggot <3 - giggles - I also recall an old cartoon on cartoon network with a vampire with a huge head who had an enemy which was a garlic man o.o lol i dont remember it all but i do know that i have a toy at home with a scientist from that cartoon ^^ he have a head you could open and see his brains - lol - aswell I remember the old sonic cartoons, oh man! i loved them so dearly! i was a sonic fanatic! Sonic was so cool and Bunny, whoah! i wanted to be like her :3 I also played on my Sega mega drive 16bit everyday back then and it always ended with me playing sonic ^^ I still do but not as much :3 too bad that sonic has become so .. lame yes he aint the awsome hedgehog i once knew >_> and dont mention cream and the crew >:C I had actually 3 heroes when i was small, everyone of them had super strength. Obelix from asterix and obelix, Pippi Longstockings and popeye I remember that they sold popeye candy that i loved so much! they had even spinach in em ( though it was cleverly disguised bubblegum -nods- ) aww i miss it sooooooo! ... Zo wants to relive her childhood again :c seriously i miss so much! what else can we think about? oh! do you folks remember the tamagochi and furbee era? haha! it was cool, everyone had one of those virtual pets ^w^ I had 2 tamagochi that you could link together and they fougth with each other :3 and i had a Furbee that looked a lil like a sheep ( i even remember the news where a american couple bougth one cause they couldnt have a baby :/ ) come and be nostalgic here with me :3 something you miss from your younger years? maybe a certain toy brand that doesnt exist? i music band? or maybe just the feeling you had when you were just a child? spill it here :3 // Zo

Oooh, there are so many cartoons I miss... And those advent calendar tv shows, Mysteriet på Greveholm was my favorite. It still is, the new ones are all crappy. I think they have the episodes on youtube, I gotta check.
And I used to love that blue soda, I think it was called Monsterdricka. They had these little joke labels on the saying "Only for kids" and "Parents beware" and so on. I used to drink it all the time, it made your tongue blue. Too bad they've stopped making it.
There's lots of other stuff, but I can't remember. It'll probably come back to me later.

And nowdays they only focus the calendars on some boring people doing everyday things. Who wants to watch a show about some kids playing detective when you can have ghosts and talking skeletons and robots? They do? Quick, send 50 bottles over here! I need to relive my childhood memories!

Speaking of Astrid Lindgren, anyone remember the Ronja Rövardotter film? (Uuuh.. Ronja...robber's daughter... I think.) I think they used show it in episodes before and I never missed a single one of them, I was like glued to the tv. Still one of my favorite movies of all time. Haven't seen it in ages though. Gotta find the dvd.

I too miss the days of my youth. Also, I havn't posted in a while.
I miss running around between my real friend's house's back then, playing stupid little games - based around our favorite shows or cartoons. I also miss the old awesome cartoons, when people actually cared more for childish comedy, bad puns, and waskawy wabbits. Nowdays, the puns are sometimes WORSE. Most people nowadays care more for the "Actiony" then the comedy.
Also, if you think about it alot of the older actors from like the OLD seasons of "All That" and such, they're all grown up with their own lives now or are washed up. Alot of the voice actors grew out of their voices too, like in "Hey Arnold!". The actors there grew out of their voices which is why the show was cancelled. I really wish they got to the point of what actually HAPPENED to Arnold's parents. The closest they got was the diary of his father.
Another cartoon that never really got figured out, was the plot hole in Thundercats, where in the beginning, Lyon-o was 12 years old. But when they hit 3rd Earth, he was all grown up. Some people still wonder about that plothole, others think they just wanted Lyon-o to get with Chetara. But there could be a scientific reason, like he rapidly aged due to some sort of crazy timebreak when they were in space. Whatever the reason, I think it annoyed ALOT of fans.
But, now, moving on. There are several toys I miss. Legos for one. Waking up christmas morning when you're 9 years old and ripping open a present and the look in your young eyes when you see a large box of Legos just waiting to be built in several different ways.
Ahh..Christmas...That too is a joy I miss. Being so excited. Heart pounding, forcing yourself to get up because ol' Saint Nick dropped by with his bag full'o goodies. Now..Christmas is all.."Whatever.." for me...
And one other thing I miss as a kid, is the fact that N64 was the greatest system in the world. Zelda. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Was the first game I EVER got for that thing. When I was 7. I still remember that day semi-vividly...I was SO excited. And over the last ten years, I never did beat that game. But I was a Zelda FANATIC; I still am and proud to be one..
Just recently I got my old N64 working, which makes me happy. But now, I'm rambling.

You can never be too old to play with legos! Legos are awesome! I used to make dinosaurs out of them and make them eat the little lego people.
And yeah, the N64 rules. I wish I had more games for mine though. Playing Pokemon Stadium gets dull after a while. But Ocarina of Time: BEST GAME EVER.

DID I HEAR ASTERIX AND OBELIX?! Good times, good times. My favourite comic book series from back when I was a French speaking kid. I've always liked the guy who sold fish. His name was "Ordrealphabetix" in the French version, but I'm not sure what it is in English. The bard too. I love the bard. Apparently the dog's name is "dogmatix" in the English one. In French his name was "Idefix".
Speaking of old comic books, does anyone remember the smurfs? =w= Man I loved those little blue guys.

When I was in France, Asterix and Obelix was really easy to find. Read it a lot. Changed how I draw eyebrows for ever. I never knew the Smurfs, but I was quite familliar with various comics as a kid. I was particularily fond of the Marvel Classics for some reason. I loved Frankenstein. (Victor is still a huge inspiration of mine to this very day.) Also, Twilight Zone. And... Fantastic Four. My dad's hair used to remind me of Richards's, only curlier. And not blue-black. It was endlessly amusing to me to scream "DAMN YOU RICHARDS" at the top of my lungs whenever I outdid myself at anything academic. When watching the Return of the King, I actually shouted "FLAME ON!" when Denethor went over the side of the tower. On that note, does anyone remember the old Hobbit movie? My little sister used to jump into bed really quickly because she was afraid that Gollum would be hiding under it and try to snap at her ankles. I used to have all the riddles memorized. I'd creep her out with them. That and my immitation of the spiders.
Does anyone else here remember the Muppets?

You mean the animated Hobbit movie? Of course, I loved that movie ^^
The Muppets are awesome. Muppet Treasure Island was a hilarious movie I need to dig up from our boatloads of VHS tapes.

Liked that movie a whole bunch. Now I have the opening song stuck in my head.
Ever watch the Muppet Show?
That was. Does anyone have a favourite muppet? Is it possible to pick one?

hmm...looking at your memories makes me feel old... those were all popular around the time i was 12... anyway my favorite cartoon in those days was teenage mutant ninja turtles (still is though the new series sucks) my favorite turtle was Michelangelo, he was the funniest one, as for music i was a huge guns and roses and van halen fan... well i still am, but it upsets me that they havent had any albums out in so long, and believe it or not Zo, i was also an aqua fan, and also.... new kids on the block >.>.....my favorite movie was land before time when i was really little, and i still think the first L.B.T is far better than any other..hmm... i wouldnt say legos would be a childhood memory.. i never really had any, although i still love to play with them, i was more of a matchbock, and hotwheels kid... oh and playdough!! i loved playdough.... it had a odd taste...i also remember crystal pepsie, the pepsi that was clear and had no caffiene? i loved it, but they stopped selling it, oh and i remember listening to my boom box as a little kid and my remote controll truck that took regular batteries and was allways dead about 10 minutes after i put fresh batteries in it, and rideing wheelies on my little huffy bycicle...good times...i actually never had a tomogatchi, or a furby, i guess i was a little old for that kind of thing.. after all i was allready rebuilding my own bikes and cars at that time..oh and my favorite muppet was the drummer muppet.. i cant remember his name now.. i think it was animal or something

It was indeed Animal. Hehe, he has some great moments, that one. The whole band (Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, I think?) is kinda really awesome. I really really like Sergeant Floyd Pepper. His performance of As My Guitar Gently Weeps makes me sniffle.
...I like Scooter's voice, and Gonzo's just bonkers so I've gotta love him. There's a bunch of others, but including them all would eventually cover most of the cast, haha. Cripes, I just thought of a bunch more I adore just now, too. Arrr!
I almost want to include the band as one character, because of how great they are together and how they're so rarely seen apart.

I spent a lot of time in the english school library when I was a kid growing up in France- it was very small and cosy and the librarian was also my english teacher and one of the most important influences on my life, and she let me stay there as long as I needed. I had the entire place read in about a year... It was pretty small and didn't get much funding. It was a literal nook. My happy place and home away from home in that school. I couldn't stand the rest of it, but the library and my teacher were wonderful.
