Would someone PLEASE tell me WHY it's necessary for ALL science teachers to go out every semester and steal hundreds of vital organisms from the ground, to inhumanely kill them and serve them to weak-stomached jr. kids to dissect? Honestly, I'm waiting for someone to convince me. *holds up 'PRO EARTHWORMS!' sign*

Ummm... Uhhh.. Well, you see... There's a uhh... Huh. I don't know. *joins Dundee in holding up signs*
Incidently, When we dissected earthworms, I was in sixth grade. My worm's name was Bob. I was sick on dissection day. ^^

I let my partner do all the work. I think. I know I didn't do any, but I don't remember if I had a partner. The crayfish were worse, though.

ooO...worms...*pokes little worm heart*
My class wasn't so lucky to get the pig cadaver. The biggest thing we had were bullfrogs. And the one my lab partner and I had didn't even have any bugs in it's gut!
um..Am I alone here in saying, I actually enjoyed dissecting classes?

I have disected many things (taking pre-med classes!), such as Sheeps eyes, worms, frogs, and we even... Disected a cat in my Advanced biology... But it was already dead, and we couldn't let a perfectly good studying opportunity go to waste! Oh, and I disected a robin (bird), as well. It's a necessary part of science... But I don't enjoy cutting things up or anything.

well, I think it was fun though i wouldnt want to dissect a worm or a frog was somewhat easier with a pig, besides it was fun exploring the heart and see when one of my class amtes cuts herself and about everyone but me left the room. i really had the hoovering feeling of being morbid back then
