Have you ever sit down by a paper just knowing exactly what you wanted to draw? all eager to start and then you suddenly realise that you have forgotten what you wanted to draw? i usually get like that when i suddenly woke up from a dream, then i have to dash to my drawing pad and get apen and make a skiss quickly - but someime it just disappear and i sit there for a couple of minutes trying to remember what i wanted to draw... sometimes you get those small ideas but youre stil unsure... you scribble it down and voila.. a picture ready for the trash can.. I have things like that all the time... Also, I have a strong case of artist's block. It's much harder to feel like drawing when you have so much free time...

Oooooh. I'm like that with stories. I make up huge, elaborate plots in my head, and then they slip away *sigh*. Some characters do that, too. They show up, get me all excited about them, then leave (WOW! Really cool idea for a centaur/dragon/pyrokinetic dwarf! Wait... what was I thinking about? Hey! Kitty! *runs off the pet kitty*). Well, maybe a little less ADD-ish. Another thing is names. I'm bad at them to begin with, but I finally figure out a character's name when it suddenly vanished into the oblivion that is my head.

I have the same thing, the only time i dont have such feelings is when i roleplay. I have many nice drawings of roleplaying characters ^^ There is only one though i have never i drawed - but i let you guess who that is.
I have a big artistic block for the moment, i think its cause if my social situation for the moment but.. I WILL BE BACK! *Laughter*
I hope o.o
does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this nuisance? I really hate when i cant draw and i am very jealous over many of you who just pull out a paper and pen and start drawing ^^''

Yeah. I have the "can't draw" periods. It's either because I'm uninspired, overworked, or because I suddenly loose all my artistic ability overnight (seriously, I'll be drawing something real simple like a cat, and it'll look like a three-year-old did it!)

Yeah, I have spells like those too, but mostly they're when I'm cleaning house. I go all the way downstairs, and have no idea why I did. Either that, or when I'm roleplaying and I'm typing at like 80 wpm, I know exactly where I want to go, and then I can't figure out how to end the post. Or like posts like the one I'm doing now, and I can't figure out for the LIFE of me how this relates to what you guys are talking about. Ok, I'll shut up now.

Ick I hate when an idea just decides to take off and depart. And if there are people who can always just sit and draw, I must steal their secret. A way I work my way out of an art rut is by drawing doodles. Just keep doodling random garbage until somthing strikes me as worhty of reattempting nicely. That's if you can get out doodles. I've not been able to do even that before.

I HATE THAT! But I usually write down chara ideas right away ^^;;; OH! The best way to get over artists block is to sit down, and draw a picture. A takes-disgustingly-long picture. With guidelines, lineart, and ink. No matter how bad it looks, just do this over and over. Drawing 1 hour when you dont want to is like drawing 3 hours when you do. Beleive me.

And I get ideas for character puns and jokes... And then something moves, and they... Explode into a million pieces, and then vanish below the earth, much like a red hot lead ball sinking through butter.

With me it's more like "Ohmigosh! That's really FUNNY!" And then I draw it and... it's really... not.

I know! And then you crumple it up and throw it away, but if it slips out in conversation, it just might become funny!
Or those "you had to be there" jokes. Those are confuzzling in comics...

Like the one in my siggy! (Yes, that actually happened).
Okay, so that one's funny if you've read Hamlet. But it cracked my AP English class up! And my Title (the Rage Warehouse thing) is funny if you think language is funny...

Heheh, I got your siggie the first time I saw it, don't worry. 'Course, since I'm a really big bookworm and probably read more than 3 of my friends all together, that's not saying a whole lot.

Wait... A warehouse containing rage.... that is rage resistant? Is it a play on words "Ire-proof/Fire Proof?" hmmm...
