I just need some push in the right direction as I think I know the choices, but I do not know the way.
I just finished with my other two characters and I think I'm finally ready to start RPing, but I have a few questions.
1.) Can I just join any RP I want after asking permission from the GM? Can I also make my own, too, or is it reserved for the more popular GM's there?
2.) After posting my character in an RP, do I automatically have to add him to the "Post your character 3rd" thread or does he stay in the 2nd one. I'm just confused as to why there's 3 of them.
3.) Are there rules on the progression of characters or is it just a "to your discretion" sort of thing where you have to just figure out what's right or wrong for yourself?
That's about it for now. Any help/advice/cookies are appreciated.

1)Rps I know that aren't currently accepting any new characters: The Stolen Body, and Hired by a Theif. I don't think Bad Seeds or Lillium are either. You could always join any of the free rps. Or, I suppose you could start your own. (I, for one, would love to join, if you do. ^_^)
2) MY "POst your character 3rd" is just for characters currently being used in RP's. No disscussion, and I'm not counting free rps. (which would be why Kendrella isn't in there) i added it because it was getting hard to find all the characters in the second one. The first one ended up dying, so the second one was started.
3)i think this all depends on the GM....

Have a cookie, my boy! ^^ If you start your own rp, I'd be glad to join.

Huzzah, thank you.
Oh, now I have another.
You seemed to be talking about different kinds of RP's. Could you elaborate more?

Ctv has a very loose story oriented RP. As such there are not levels, charater creation guide lines etc. etc. It is just about telling stories and have a good time both because I feel this best represents the CTV world and because I don't have time to regulate a more fomalized RP system at the moment.

Maybe it's something we could work on. I'm pretty familiar with table top RPGs, and I bet I could work something out on the forum. Though I'd need a little (or a lot, depending on everyone's willingness to work with me on it.) assistance with the set up of the world.
I'm sure I could scrap down a format I'm familiar with to a bare bones nature, and come up with player friendly rules to simplify things (for everyone else at least.) and speed up (to some extent.) the process of playing
If anyone feels like doing something like this, let me know and I'll devote some time to it.

RP's are fun, but they get tedious, and you start forgetting stuff, and you can't join one that has more than two pages without pages and pages of tedious reading.

Very True.
Seth I would suggest making that seperate from the established RP's. If you want to make one I'll talk to Amy about making a small section for more traditional RP however I don't think it would be a good thing to simply replace the story based RP threads.

Meh, just an idea, noone seems particularly interested in it, so there's not a lot of sense in changing things around for it. Thanks though.

Actualy I have had some discussion about this. Its a different style RP that could probably just share the same forum as the othres. It would require a lot more character skills development. Probably involve dice rolling or some such. The characters currently going around are not very structured and as such tend to vary greatly in power. A standard point based system and stricter character controlls may be beneficial for some RP's and be a different style of play.
I personaly don't have enough experience in this to try it and those I talked to hadn't the time to devote. I doubt it has anything to do with lack of interest. There are plenty who would try any type of RP. I personaly don't think I have the time at the moment either.
