What is the strangest mascot you've heard of? Be it highschool, college, or what have you? Personally, I think the strangest one is (and no offense if anyone one the foirum goes to this school) the Hickman Highschool Kewpie Dolls. They have, I kid you not, a naked baby doll as their mascot. Is that strange to anyone but me?
Anyway... What's the strangest mascot you've heard of?

Nennyone remember the Olympics mascot some years back, Izzy? Weird little thing that was...
In addition, my middle school's team was the Springton Lake Spartans. Spartans, of all things. Yes, let's allign ourselves with ancient Greeks.

I think the middle school my brother went to had Spartans. And one of the local high schools were Lancers. Must be fairly popular names. Aren't lances more like wooden spears?

Wait, no... In Hawaii, I was a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa I'm not kidding. We were the Hickam Elementary Humuhumunukunukuapuaa's. My brother was a "Saint George's Preschool 'Green Gecko'" Ah, Hawaii and it's weird mascots...

Yay for clown trigger fishes. =3
One of the Hawaiian universities' sports teams used to be called the Rainbow Warriors. In recent times, they dropped the "rainbow".

I know of two: The Green Monster monster of Fenway Park in Boston. I mean; couldn't anyone think of something-- anything--better?! And an armadillo for an old DragonBall forum I used to go to. Why an armadillo? Because the admin was also a fan of Chugworth Academy comic. And the story arc just happened to be about a pet armadillo at the time he chose the board's mascot.

My high school in California had the "corn huskers".... The mascot for games and stuff had to dress as a farmer and hold corn...
>.>
They changed it though... Now they're the Huskies! Much better in my opinion!

Back in my old school, Toronto French School, there were a massive amount of houses. Maybe around eight? Either way, one of the houses was called Campbell, and their mascot was soup.

XD Andy Warhol and his silkscreen Campbell soup print...
I have no idea why they chose that. I keep thinking that one day some businessman will try to sue them because of that... Cougars are really popular mascots

In middle school I was a panther. So was my cousin, who lives in the same city, but went to a different school. My first school's logo(kindergarden) was an owl, which is cool, since wisdom an all that. But the weirdest one was my seccond school(1-5), an apple. Yes, you heard me, an apple. Pathers were okay. Now I'm a BCSS buck. on the announcements they say: "Hello there and thank you for listening to BCSS buck radio! Buck you!" my friend said: "They should say that with fingers in their mouth" XD

Well.. Here in Hobart we're the BearCats... You start out in elementary as a BearWee, move to middle school as a BearCub then graduate to high school as a BearCat ;>> It was stupid.. our mascot was this big cat with its mouth opened wide in a snarl

I always thought that the choice of Spartans as a school mascot was amusing, given their general dislike of democracy and book learnin'. Principal- "Ok, I'm going to change our mascot to a military state that opposes democracy, disdains learning and oppresses a neighboring state."

When my brother was in middle school, he went to this place called Grafton Middle School. It wasn't so bad...except that their mascot was a clipper. We didn't think it was so bad at first, but then we were informed 'clippers' weren't dangerous barbers. They're SHIPS. Not even fast ships, but CARGO SHIPS. BIG, BULKY, SLOW CARGO SHIPS. And they don't MAKE clippers anymore, so all the clippers you'd hear of are these old big bulky wooden ones that can splinter pretty easily in a storm. *forehead smack* Jeeze! Why would you choose a clipper for your mascot? That's a HORRIBLE choice! And this was a school that had Grafton MIDDLE SCHOOL and Grafton HIGH SCHOOL right next to each other! Some unlucky kids had to go through both middle and high school being CLIPPERS!! Oh, jeeze, guys, JEEZE!
Meanwhile, I laughed at him, being a Bethel Manor Eagle at the time. (After we moved, the mascots weren't so bad. He became an eagle, I became a mustang, then a falcon, then a bear-the Browne Bears....oh jeeze, guys, really? - and finally...I'm a tiger...for one more year. I don't know if my brother's college has a mascot...I don't think it does.)

I believe the mascots for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics has a Thunderbird, a yeti and something i think is supposed to be an Orca but looks like a cross between a cat and a panda Go Canada!!!!
Darkfiretaimatsu I am afraid we must be mortal enemies as we are the Trojans, unfortunately most of our student population has no clue what the Trojan war was so they think we are named after... i wont finish that thought incidentally our mascot rides a rocking horse made of... Yes, wood in middle school i had a mascot that was a Tiger and the school colours were blue and yellow... random choices eh?
may I make a point about the national symbols of Canada Beavers = we nearly sent them into extinction Caribou = its a moose for goodness sake and it also lives in Russia as well Loons = I always thought that a loonie bin was a place where the birds lived... where people collected money Bluenose = its just a boat... alright a very fast boat but it sank... Maple leaves = only exist in southern Ontario which makes up 1% of the geography and 66% of populations. Last time i looked at a jar of maple syrup it was made in the US. and the hockey team can't deal with the fact that the plural of leaf is leaves
