Well,I waited until the actual release...so I'm experiencing it for the first time. *shrug* I really meant more along the lines of, comment on the actual movie, not the fact that you've already seen it.

Well I have yet to see it....maybe if its in theaters and in English I'll go for it. If your going to discuss spoilers may I suggest the use of invisitext? The code is 660000 and will be completely invisible unless highlighted. That way someone lurking wont accidently have the movie spoiled for them. An example of Invisitext because I think its cool.... [*color=660000] Text in here [*/color] Highlight just below this to see the effect. Basicaly the tags above...without the stars of course. For some reason I think this is really cool. Daggertooth

Woooooo! It was so good! I'll do the rest in spoiler print now, SO DON'T HIGHLIGHT THE BOTTOM SECTION IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Aw man, I loved Rude and Reno. They were just so awesome!
And the part where Vincent saved Cloud? Hotness. But I wondered how Marlene got away from Kadaj and the gang.
Speaking of which, Loz was kick ass. He was the only one of the group that I really liked, even if he was a cry baby.
The ending kinda ticked me off, but only because Sephiroth came back. I mean, I killed him like, 3 times and then AGAIN in the Lifestream itself. Shouldn't he be dead forever then? But the battle with Cloud and Sephiroth was really awesome, though. Especially Cloud's overdrive which was like a supreme form of Omnislash I thought.
Speaking of which again, his weapons? So awesome. I kinda wanted him to use his old buster sword, but it was so much cooler that he used the swords that could combine and annihilate everything.
I really wanted to see Vincent go Chaos, though. And I also wanted to see a Chocobo. And man, if Kadaj just used Knights of the Round instead of Bahamut for the summon, it would've been so much sweeter.
Now for the question that I had. Anyone want to venture any guesses as to what the Wolf symbolized? Was it Zack? Was it Aeris (or Aerith if you wanna go with the actual translation)? Or was it the both of them imbodied in a wolf for spirit?
Done with the ranting in spoiler mode. Now for the suggestions to those who haven't watched it or want to see it in theatres.
Theatres? Not gonna happen. As much of a hit FF7 was, and as much as a hit AC was in Japan in theatres, I highly doubt (99.99999999999998% sure) that it won't be released in theatres here in the states. I recommend you just get it on DVD. It is done in English AND Japanese with subtitles in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Thai, Madarin (traditional), and Cantonese.
I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles first to get a more accurate feel of the movie. I'm watching it in English now to see how well they did the Dubbing. When I finish it in English, I'll let you guys know how well it was done.

I saw it for the first time last night. ...I don't really know what I can say. Final Fantasy VII was the first video game that I ever really fell in love with. I know a lot of gamers (especially the new younger crowd) is saying these days how pathetic it is to love a game that came out nearly 10 years ago, and maybe it is... But hey, if that's the case, then let me be pathetic. The game is too good for me to feel otherwise. So, if you have played the game, and you even remotely enjoyed it, you really have to see this movie. It was so well done. One thing I really liked about it was that it kind of let us imagine what the battles in the game really looked like, instead of people just jumping at each other to attack. It gives the whole thing a very epic feel. It's as if under any other circumstances, you would think "My goodness, these fight scenes are so extravagently contrived, it's ridiculous!", but with this movie it's "My goodness... So great!"

I'm very impressed with the visual aspects of the movie, a lot of the lighting is very well done, it shows a lot of effort and time went into the creation... still, the story isn't quite as wonderful as it could have been, I feel it was lacking a lot compared to the awe inspiring nature of the game it was based around. A redeeming point is the comedic value of the character interaction.
I'd give it a 7/10. It's worth watching, but fails to live up to its full potential.

I've had a DVD of it since before December 2005. Though since then the subtitles were probably fixed.

Heh, I'm new here, so I have to resurrect this thread.
This particular thread caught my eye, as I am currently paying through FFVII again to find everything I missed. I have also just recently watched the Japanese version of AC with English subtitles.
Now for the invisible ink:
I enjoyed the movie, though it's somewhat hard for me to keep track of all the action, as I'm the fastest reader in the house, so I always end up being narrator for the peoples who can't read fast enough.
My elder brother and I hypothesize that the reason he doesn't use the buster sword is because he put it in the cliff over midgar. That IS where Zack died, after all. It was Zack's sword.
There was an awful lot of discussion in our house about the wolf, though we never reached any viable conclusions. So I can't really help there.
Reno is still cool, and he still climbs. Though his hair is an awful lot lighter, now.
Also--summon materia is red. How did Kadaj use a blue one to summon Bahamut? My younger brother says maybe they forgot, another brother says the blue huge materia was Bahamut, and another brother says he's just channeling Bahamut through an MP Turbo materia. Whatever, I say. It's still cool.
Ok, enough from me for now.

I loved the game very, very much. And the movie was pure awsome. Only thing I could fault it with is "Not enough Turks". But considering the movie could have been nothing but Turks and I would still have said that, it's not much of a valid critic. I just love the Turks.

That movie made me realize that the Japanese do not believe in the laws of physics.
Now for the white ink:
I just think the wolf represented Zach. If for no other reason than they have similar hair.
It also made me giggle that Reno had more lines than Yufie, Red XIII and Barret combined.
But did anyone notice that Cloud got a lot more angsty in this? I know that he had that Geostigma thing and all, but really. In the game Vincent was the angsty one, but in the movie, compared to Cloud, Vincent looked like Mr.Rogers. Vincent has a REAL reason to be moody! So what if Cloud has cancer like stuff on his arm?! Atleast he has an arm! D: And it washes off in water!
Darn you Cloud and your emo, in emo, on emo, with emo. D:
