This poem is actually based on a story. Whoever can guess which story this is gets brownie points!
My Princess Dear
When she reaches her fifteenth year, Rise up from the deep sea shall she. Sit on the rocks by moonlight dim, What did you see, oh princess dear?
For an immortal soul, I fear, Her tail for legs she has exchanged. You run and dance upon the shore. Return to me, my princess dear?
The moon is bright, the sky is clear, Her hopes and dreams have disappeared. My daughter I'll see nevermore. She turns to foam, my princess dear.
Now then, Haiku for you!
Solditude
A cherry tree stands, Blossoms falling like the rain. All good things must end.
And... that's all I have for now.

The Abysmal Tea Party
Sipping his tea was a young boy quite dismal "My god!" He exclaimed, "This tea's rather abysmal! That brew in my mouth left a horrible taste, My taste buds, I fear, seem to have been defaced."
And though he put sugar and milk in his tea, The beverage tasted two times worse, maybe three! Standing up from the table, he gave this report, "This drinking of tea I decide to abort."

The Picture of Dorian Gray
A young man, hardly over twenty, Has fallen in love with the corruption of his soul.
A gift from his friend, a painting, Of beauty nearly surpassing his own, now becomes more of a curse.
He shall never grow old, his sins shall never show. Only in the picture of Dorian Gray does his true face lie.
And in the end, does the face still show What's hidden deep inside or is it locked behind a door.
The Gold Rush
The Little Tramp did go up north, To find his fortune there. He fought cold winds and sought the gold, But all he saw was white and bare.
The Chilkoot Pass did he go through, And went naively on. Seeking shelter in a cabin, To wait until the snow was gone.
Thanksgiving dinner was a boot, For poor old Tramp and friends. And in the end the Tramp went on To finally make his honest ends.
In the dance hall Georgia stands And Tramp did fall in love. When finally he struck the gold, Georgia was all he could think of.
The ex-Tramp now a millionaire, But Georgia he had not. Then suddenly he realized Georgia was on the same boat!
So I put up some more poetry... errr. I'm not really original in my naming of poetry, so they're both named on the things they're based on. So the novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde and "The Gold Rush" a silent movie by Charlie Chaplin. The first one is written in free verse whereas the second is in ballad format.
