More photos from the insane mind of ... ME~!
Yeah. Okay. So these are photos of the costumes Momo and I wore to the convention we went to on Saturday. For those of you who follow manga... the manga characters we cosplayed as were Raito and Misa from Deathnote. (Great manga. I highly recomend it)
Misa (Me) in the Karaoke competition (I won second place~! Yay~!)
Misa and Raito (Myself and Momo~!)
And then we did photoshoots of us ^^;;...
So... Here is Raito's Photo shoot.
The Photoshoot of Me (Misa) was done once we got home as my ride came before we could take a photoshoot at the convention. So. You get to see my entranceway~! (no one caaares *snicker*)
Yes... Okay so these are a lot of photos. I'm showing off ^^;;... This is the first year I've had a personal camera (Okay, so it was Momo's camera. That's besides the point) at a convention. So I'm proud.

Wow, great pics. And now I know what cosplay means. Went downtown Osaka to an area that had alot of cosplay signs and caffe's. Lots of gaming areas there too. Lots of posters of girls dressed as a old fassioned waitress or nurse. Hey, is Misa the goth girl on the cover of deathnote 3? I almost bought it cause of her....she being all cute and all. If only I could read Kanji. Daggertooth

That would be correct, Daggertooth. Misa is the goth girl from Deathnote. ^_^ Good manga, Veru good. And it is being translated into English.

Is good series. I have one through three so far. I used to read it when it had a website too, but that was a while ago. Light's a friggin' genius, and it never ceases to impress me. The plans and stuff he makes up are just plain amazing. How on Earth does he think that far?

Mmmmgleeeeee. Got the manga today! Have yet to read it, though, seeing as how I have yet to master the art of reading and driving simultaneously (just kidding folks, I barely have the driving part down).

Wolfy always gets asked if she reads and drives. It's very annoying. >_<

I do hate to nag on this. But we are getting off-topic again. Let's try to go back on topic. Does anyone else have convention pictures (Or costumed pictures) of themselves?

I actualy know very little about these conventions. Asside from what random comics say about them every now and then. I wouldn't mind learning more..... The first time I heard the word cosplay was about a month ago in downtown Osaka. Couldn't quite figure it out untill you specificaly mentioned it. The only thing I ever dressed up as is a mountain man with a leather costume I hand made. Had nothing to do with manga. Still not literate enough to read the manga I have. Daggertooth

Cosplay is the word used to describe dressing up as an anime or manga character.
An anime convention is pretty much a whole bunch of people who like anime getting together to watch anime, play games (Such as Yugio or DDR... yay. DDR), buy stuff at a discount from vendors who come specifically to sell their stuff, and join in various competions (Best costume, Best skit, Kareoke competition etc). You don't have to be in costume to go to an anime convention. However, a lot of people (Such as myself) choose to do so.
Game conventions, are pretty much the same thing... but replace the events with game stuff. Likewise with Starwars/Star Trek/Sci Fi. etc. conventions.
A word of advise? Be careful of conventions in Japan. They are frequented by "Otaku" ... and Otaku are creepy T____T.
Does that help explain it?

Well I have never been to a convention so I doubt I would suddenly go to one in Japan. I am new to the world of comics and manga...but I am liking what I see so far. Kind of scary, I have the strangest desire to try to draw. I am no artist, no reason why I would want to draw characters or comics or whatknot. I'll atribute this to a midlife crisis of sorts. I don't know what an otaku is. There seems to be alot of descriptions for different type of people that I don't know. I will be sure to avoid them if I hear about them. Daggertooth
