Heh, I know what you mean about the feet. I always change the angle from which the characters are being 'shot' (er...as in a 'camera', I mean) so the feet can be turned just slightly to one direction. (I'm such a bad, bad person, but it's an effective cover-up.)
If'n you're going for cute, you can go the Chibi Direction, which basically is to make all of the characters who are children or cute into half-chibi half-realistic characters. (That means the head and eyes will be slightly bigger than usual, the hands will be smaller, and the entire body will be shrunk a bit. Not fully chibi, but enough so that they're cute.)

I allways make them wearing socks, or sandals with covers on the toes... Or oversized shoes. Yesh, fear the oversized shoes...

Umm... Try to draw as much as possible. Draw all over everything, and also: Draw a comic. It will help you SOOOOO much! My first was a crappeh Naruto doujinshi. It improved my art a whooooole lot!!! So, it doesn't have to be good, but as lond as you like it and its a comic!

I was sketching in sharpie yesterday, and Blaine happened:  and then he happened again.  And then I decided to post more drawings from my sceboo. Behold the Mirado lonliness warrior.  This is Karyl Trenchant. He makes schoolgirl outfits. This is old.  A little sketch of how I imagine Grey, from Lillium.  An NPC boy. And that little thing in the upper left-hand corner is period man.  This is the head of the compass spirit. The rest of the pic was awful-er. I really like his character, but I'll shut up because all of you roleplayers will see him when I start ^__^;  And then an NPC archer boy ^_^  And here is a group shot from the comic I am working on in collaboration. The guy in the front is Gulius, the spiky haired dood with goggles is Crow, and the chick is 3. The little thing is Mimibot, and the panda guy is Captain Panda (aka Antonio).  I have more in my sceboo that I'll post later today... |
