Shop's Open! (well, mostly anyway)

[Nikki the n00b]

Be nice. Nikki's a newbie. Also, this is my first CTV RP. Please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.


Go to Northern Kellwood, about a mile from the edge of the forest
Follow the sign that says, The Shop is this way., down the gravel path that's lined with tall grass.
Into the large clearing surrounded by large trees, walk to the largest tree in the center; try not to touch anything in the garden, and knock on the door embedded in the tree.
Then if you hear a voice say enter, obey it, if you want to buy a cure for whatever ails you.
Or maybe if you just want advice on life, or a hot meal. What ever you're looking for, inside the shop you'll find a young vampire woman, several cats and a dog. And again, please don't touch anything in the gardens!

Nikki's boots crunched on the gravel path of her eastern most garden, where she kept her fungi. Rex merrily pranced around sniffing random plants. "Rex! Stop sniffing!" she exclaimed.
Rex looked at her and said, "But lotsa smell!"
She sighed. "Lotsa smell might kill you."
Rex made something similar to a groan. "But..."
"No buts."
Nikki examined a sign next to a purple and red fungus growing on a small wall built specially for the fungus. It read Urithan fungus, and was written in Nikki's own neat handwriting.
Rex squinted at the sign, Rex was rather young in the terms of talking animals, and his English wasn't all that good, he still had a little trouble reading.
"What that say?" he asked.
"Urithan Fungus." Nikki replied.
"Ur...i...than?" Rex said, trying out the word.
"Yep. It's good for blood pressure, but too much and it can cause blindness.... Rex?"
Rex was sniffling the air next to Nikki.
"Something coming." He said.

[Wolfy]

Ashton skipped down the path, singing softly to himself. "Plants, plants, lots a plants... Lots a happy plantses everywheres, yay!" he sang happily. He felt carefree, which wasn't odd, since he was ten, but more than that, he felt... safe. Surrounded by so many old and powerful plants always put him at ease. Suddenly he stopped.

"Oo...New planty voices..." he said, looking around. He walked up in the clearing and crouched beside a plant in the garden, looking at it curiously.

Nikki sensed the plants near the edge of the garden react to a new visitor. She put her trowel down and walked out to meet the potential customer.
She raised her eyebrows in slight surprise, "Hello there."
In front of her was what appeared to be a half-dragon boy. He was crouched in front of one of the few plants that were only used for aesthetics in Nikki's garden.
He looked a little young to be out on his own, but in Kellwood, you could never know.

Ashton turned his head, then smiled at the new person and wved. "Hihi! I'm Ashton! I'm a dragon-child! I'm te! I like your garden, you've lots of plantys. Ashton likes plantys. Do the plantys talk to you? They talk to Ashton. They say they like you," he said cheerfully, standing. His wings flapped excitedly.

Nikki blinked once, and smiled. "Well then, afternoon Ashton! My name's Nikki, this is my garden. I take care of the plants here, and harvest them for potions. Would you like a tour?"
The plants spoke to him, he said. He seemed like a really sweet kid. Nikki wondered where his parents were.

[Wolfy]

Ashton nodded vigorously, grinning.

"Yesyes! Ashton woujld very much like a tour! Ashton has never talked to plants like these, he wishes to meet more! Ashton's daddy would very much like this place. have you seen him? He is a dragon, and he's green, with reallyshiny scales, and when he is small, he looks kinda like Ashton, but with no wings or horns. Ashton fell off daddy during a storm and hurt his head and his wing and that was long ago, and Ashton lost daddy. But, that's ok, because the plantys Ashton passes tell him that they will tell daddy where Ashton went, so daddy will find Ashton, and Ashton gets to meet new plantys until then! So.. can Ashton have a tour, please?"

Ashton blinked and smiled up at Nikki after this extremely fast paced speech of his in response to a simple yes or no question. He was just a little excited.

Nikki looked at Ashton with sad eyes, "I'm sorry I haven't see your Dad, honey." But she brightened and said, "Of course you can have a tour. I'm glad you like the plants. I hope that they're telling you good things about me!" She smiled at held her hand out to Ashton.
Poor guy. It was amazing that Ashton could stay so happy after getting separated from his dad like that. Nikki was going to the market tomorrow to sell her miniature trees. She'd ask around about Ashton's father then.

[Wolfy]

Ashton nodded and took her hand with a smile.

"Yesyes! The plantys like you lots. They say you takes good care of them," he chirped.

Nikki started to say something, but Remi suddenly crashed through the bushes to the left. Remi was a female, calico cat and seemed to be immune to most poisons.
Remi skidded to a halt in front of Nikki's feet, over balanced and fell. She quickly got back up, and yowled, "One of your cursed plants is trying to kill meeeeeee!!"
Nikki frowned. "Calm down Remi. What happened." Scorn sauntered up, "She got herself tangled in some vines." he meowed. Nikki rolled her eyes, and said to Ashton, "Come on, let's go see what's up with the vines."

[Wolfy]

Ashton smiled.

"Okie! Sounds like fun! Hi, kitty!" he said happily, waving at the cats.

*This place seems a tad bit lonely... Mind if I butt in? By the way, Nikki, would you happen to be a fan of Patricia Wrede's Enchanted Forest series? I seem to be getting many Morwen-esque vibes from your garden.*

(OOC: Course you can join. And yeah, the whole talking to cats thing is inspired by Morwen, and so did the crazy plant ideas. Then I was like, if she can talk to plants why not animals?)

ooc: Eeeeexcellant.

Bic: “Brrrrrr-clank-SHING! Brrrrrrrrshigashigashiga-tinkle-CLANK!” The almost obscenely loud mechanical noise interrupted the forest’s solemn meditative silence as shimmering blades, rods and spokes clattered noisily to the ground. The mess of shining metal became recognizable as a pair of elaborately built motorized wings as the owner flexed them to their full length. With the motion came the ear-bleeding sound of rust on rust, and the being attached to the whole contraption quickly folded up the mechanical wings until they resembled a compact, metal backpack. The girl scratched at the area where the metal made contact with skin irritably, and winced in pain when she felt the rash there. Hoping to make a good impression, she combed the long locks of red-black hair with impatient fingers, brushed off a few flakes from the great carpet of rust that covered her outfit, and knocked briskly on the old fashioned wooden door of the enormous tree.

Solomon licked a claw, and reached out to turn the page of the large book. He heard the knock on the door, and said, "Cosmos, please go get Nicholina."
A grey and white spotted cat glared at Solomon, and slinked out the open window he was basking in.
"Enter!" Solomon said, turning his attention back to his book.

(OOC: Solomon's a cat (duh), and has shaggy ginger-colored fur)

ooc: Right, I'm going to be gone for a few days, *cough cough week ahem* so I won't be able to play along. Sorry, fellas!!

bic: Following the cat's instructions, the girl pushed firmly on the door and entered. "Hello, Cat. Would you be able to tell me where the keeper of the shop is currently, or would you be the owner yourself?"

[Wolfy]

Ashton fidgited, twitching his wings.

"Someone's here, miss planty friend Nikki," he informed, blinking up at her with wide, innocent eyes.

"Really?" Nikki asked. She sighed. "I'd better go see who it is. Gosh Ashton. I'm so so sorry that this place is so crazy."

"The owner of this establishment will be here shortly." Solomon said, "But make I ask as to what your ailment is?"

Ashton smiled.

"It's ok! Ashton likes peoples!" he said cheerfully. "Can I come with?"
