Koumori scowled, her left ear twitching slightly, as she called over her shoulder, "I can hear you, you know." Why did people allways seem to think they could hide?

A cat sniffed, jumped onto the edge of a water barrel. The dirty water inside rippled. She sniffed again, batting at it curiously, until a soft voice quietly whispered, "Shoo!" The cat, surprised at voice, jumped down and ran down an alley.
Chantre silently chuckled from her hiding place. Of course the elf could hear her, elves were like that. Maybe the beast-like man, too, but who was going to listen to him? The point was, humans were grossly unattentive to their surroundings, and she was exceptionally skilled at making herself not seen. It really was handy being able to become one with water; she only wished it was cleaner.

Frost sighed and closed her eyes. A film of ice appeared over the water, with the ghost of a whisper "I can sense you in the water..."

Endorphin snarled and ducked into the shadows of the buildings nearby. He had had enough of this foolishness. Being so near these... rot-minded, supposedly 'higher' creatures was grating on his nerves and sanity. A hunger was stirring behind his eyesockets, unlike the natural gnawing of his belly.
He wanted to kill them. Devour all those akin to the hunters that ravaged his territory, his kind. The arrogant beasts! Filling the air with smoke that stung their noses, confused their mind and made them panic, then fall to the ground, unable to make their own bodies obey. They were all to blame!
He did, indeed, smell the strange human who was also part of the group, but he was beyond caring. She wasn't a threat, she was a meal. He was sick of it all. He would have his chance soon, and then....

Nezumi looked around nervously.
"Well... Where are we going to stay the night?" She looked a little nervous. Her guards were stronger than she thought... What if they rebelled? Oh well. That would be interesting. She smiled inwardly. I'll just take life as it comes.
A short, old fox-woman with a big bag on her back scurried out, accidentally cutting off endorphin's path. "Oh... I'm sorry, young man!" She said in her wispy old voice, her old eyes looking at Endorphin, noticing that something wasn't right.
((She is an NPC, sorta, so Endorphin can kill her.))

Frost smiled at Suka, and ignored Nezumi. Then, a sharp pain in her wrists startled her, and she paled. Turning away from Nezumi, she discreetly checked her wrists, and was shocked to see the new scars were now bleeding. Was it that big? she asked herself, shaking a little. This was not good. She was completely drained. She clenched her fists, took a deep breath, then walked back up to Koumori and Haruko.

Endorphin nearly ran into the old woman. He hissed softly in annoyance, and his attention focused on the old fox. It was quite possible that someone might be able to hear his nerves snapping like tight violin strings.
With a feral sound that was like no mortal predator's, Endorphin swung at the fox-woman and slammed her agains the wall. A quick motion with one hand, and a sickening crack announced the kitsune's death. Endorphin smiled with his too-many teeth in unnerving, carnivorous satisfaction.

Sekou eyed Endorphin. He was more animalistic then he himself! And Endorphin had, he assumed, grown up in a civilized land unlike him, who had been taught to act in such fashions. This guy was unmarked and and unplagued by ghosts. There must be some sort of lesson in all this....
Well, they were all terrible bodyguards.... they endangered master Nezumi by picking pointless battles with people she was trying to befriend and trying to protect a child who would only end up in a worse situation because of their actions. They didnt seem competent at protecting anyone.
Well... maybe he could cut Endorphin out of the group by provoking him into taking a bite out of him. The last person who had taken a bite out of Sekou, or Krowin rather, had instantly gone mad and died. But this Endorphin might, one, be able to smell the danger of his blood, two, be immune to his poison, or three, it could have been the demon who had bit him with the illness, and had been incompatable with Krowins demon blood.

The old fox woman's bag fell to the ground, and many metal pots and pans fell out. Among teh pots and pans were several pieces of jewelry. She seemed to be a merchant.

FRost flinched at the sound of metal hitting the ground and turned to look. Her eyes widen in shock and the sight of the dead woman and Endorphin. She clutched her trembling hands together and went to stand beside Haruko, refusing to look back in Endorphin's direction.

Haruko put a gloved hand on her shoulder.
"It's alright. These things happen when travelling with demons."
He couldn't stand to see a woman cry...

FRost flinched at Haruko's touch. "What? Senseless death? I've seen worse," she said in an emotionless voice. However, not even all her will power could keep the slightest traces of a tremor out of her voice. Great Goddess Saati, I truely am drained. Foolish. But that spell wouldn't take nearly so much power without these blasted bracelets, she thought, a shadow of a scowl appearing on her face as she stared at her left wrist, the bracelet red with her blood. "Will I ever get these things off?" she whispered to herself under her breath.

Haruko took his hand off her shoulder, looking at her wrist.
"What happened to you? Do you require medical aid?" He looked genuinely worried.

Koumori had seen death before. She had relished pain before... She had probably even inadvertantly caused death before... But nothing like this. Her breath caught in her throat, as her ears folded back, and she gaped. For a mere moment, she seemed to be at a conflict between revulsion at the simplistics of the action, pity for the elderly fox-woman, and... Interest. She was intruiged.

Frost reached into her pocket and pulled out a small cloth. She carefully wiped the blood off the bracelet and held her wrist up to look at the scar. It was still bleeding sluggishly. She switched to the other wrist and saw that it was still bleeding as well. She put the cloth back in her pocket, and pulled her sleeves back down to cover her wrists. "There isn't much you can do. It will be better by tomorrow," she said softly.

Haruko sighed, and stepped a couple small steps away. It was obvious that she didn't want his help.
Nezumi smiled nervously. "Well.. So... Do any of you know where we're staying tonite?"
Suka-chan whispered something in Nezumi's ear.
Nezumi smiled.
"Looks like our little friend knows an abandoned house where we can stay. Any objections?"

Endorphin ignored the bag as it fell, and the noise. Let them see. He dropped the dead woman and began systematically tearing the flesh from her frame. He hunched over the woman, looking more like a predator than a man - or even demon. He ignored those at his back. The only thing that mattered now was his hunger.

Haruko looked worridly at Frost. She looked drained beyond anything he'd ever seen from a mage.
"If you want... I can help you get there, you know, carry you, I mean, If you're that drained..."
He didn't make eye contact, this tough mercenary was terrible at talking with girls.

"I know some things, I've traveled enough to know when someone's about to collapse... So... do you want some help?"
He looked a little sheepish.

((Heh, you'll see in a few seconds, when Dorphy starts to leave. This might get some party members mad.))
Nezumi looked around, "Shall we go?" Suka jumped out of her arms, tugging on her shorts, pointing down the road.
Haruko walked over to Frost, and lifted her easily. Wow, she's light he thought, then reprimanded himself. No, you're just monstrously strong.

Koumori rolled her eyes. She had never been the greatest at interpreting body language, but this was just... Too obvious. Yet another happy bunch of disgustingly cheerfull nutters, basking in the glow of their own... Urk.
She returned to staring at the elderly fox-woman's corpse, transfixed.
