Did anyone experience any unusual occurances on Friday the 13th? I don't normally get superstitious but I had a couple weird things happen....the brakes on my car cut out completely (I had to wrench the emergency break on not to hit someone) and my phone stopped working.

I have never been affected by friday the 13th before in my life, however this one was something different.
My deoderant broke, I ruined my pants, I cut myself on a piece of paper on a knife and on something else I am not entirely sure of, I ruined two prodgects, I got sick and it started to rain and my umbrella broke.
My friend was born on friday the 13th and nothing bad happened to him and nothing bad happened to me while I was arround him.
I am actually considering investing in a good luck charm, and now that I have lost any respect I might have had I am going to slink away now.

Psychology: you probably only notice those things happening on a day that stands out, especially such a superstitious day.
Meanwhile, I had a much more miserable day yesterday than normal but that was just because it was the end of our "Standards of Learning" tests and I was sick at the same time. Nothing really bad, or unsettling, ever happens to me on that day, though.

Ohhhhh thats no fair X, playing the ol' psychology card when you know that none of us can disprove it and that it is the one thing creeping up in the back of our heads. What are you some kind of kill joy?
I didnt post all day yesterday for fear that someone might have written something horrible, but now im back to my immunity and im feeling mighty fine.

I normally scoff at superstition, but the brakes thing with my car freaked me out! If I hadn't grabbed the emergency break, I would have hit the car in front of me. So far, I've only been hit by other people, and not hit anyone myself, and I want to keep it that way! Well, I guess I don't want to be hit again, but at least then it isn't my fault.
;D ;D ;D

Good job then! At not hitting 'em, that is. I haven't hit anyone, but that's because I hardly drive. (^_^; )

Maybe there IS something to it.... But, since I didn't hit any one (with my CAR), maybe I had good luck! I've been in several small accidents, but they all involve someone hitting me...once, my car was totalled (elderly driver didn't notice traffic on the highway was stopped), once I got a got big dent in the side of the car (a parking lot accident, it was over when I found my car and no note) and twice, people in vans have not seen me and swiped my drivers side mirror off. Urg! Thats what I get for driving a Tercel.

I believe that there is probably far more than what the human species bleieves there is in this world.
I could rant at you all day but I wont because its an annoying speech that I already wrote then decided not to post and it gets controversial.
I will just sum it up by saying that it is futile to try to understand things like this and the more you try to think about the answer the further you will get from the truth. One must be completely accepting of there surroundings and of there ignorances. So I just try to observe and accept things the way that they are.
You may or may not disagree with me, I do not care.

I agree that there are things we can't sense that play a part. I just don't believe in Friday the 13th because why would something supernatural, beyond humans, be based on a day on a human's calendar? That just sounds stupid.
But I love debates and controversy! Most people just get mad though... :(h

Yeah friday the 13th does sound a little rediculous but it is always possible that some super natural force is screwing around with us because its funny, and its always possible that the answer is just outside of human comprehension. Thats why I cant trust anything, because I dont trust the extent of human comprehension.

Yeah. There's no real way to know. We only have 5 apparent senses, so of course there are things we don't pick up. But we do have our brains to think and reason with, which helps us a lil.

I didn't get cavities even though I didn't brush my teeth everyday and I hadn't gone to the dentist for about a year! It's a miracle. I guess since I don't gorge myself on food that gets stuck in my teeth or gums that helps.

It's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall psycological.
Let's do a quick experiment, shall we? Please perform these actions as you read them.
1. Turn your head as far to the left as it will go. 2. Turn it further to the left then you did last time.
Simple psycology.

I think I get it. Soap says "turn your head as MUCH as you can." Then he says "turn it MORE." But, all it does for me is make my neck hurt XP But it's like, the first time you didn't turn it as far as you really could, ya know?
