Any of you guys had an imaginary friend when you were little? (This is my contribution to resurrecting the forum This is the best I can think of ) I had one. A squirrel. He was this intellectual martial-artist type squirrel dude. I cant tell you his name because then you might be able to track him down (and his name is lamer than anything I ever thought of). Anyway, be honest. Lets hear some imaginary friends!

Well, Melly was my imaginary friend when I was younger. She kinda developed into a character. I also had an imaginary owl named.. (wait for it)... Hedgewig. Yeah, I was reeeeeeeal imaginative when I was little, huh? Anyway, I can't really remember any others at the moment.

When I was but a wee lass, I took much pleasure in hoarding those little plastic jewls with the mirror-like backing that people glue to their failed art projects to make them look pretty. Anyway, I had a special jewel. 'Twas naught special about it; shiny, simple, miniscule, orange, and the backing was kind of chipping off. However junky it might have been, it was the 'resting place' (think Genie's lamp) of my half-sister mermaid. Her name MAY have been Tanashlee, but I'm not sure.

I had an evil pillow that lived under my bed and talked at me...he didn't have a name, though.
I didn't understand it then, either.

I had an imaginary friend named Tyler Durden. JK I guess since I had two brothers and a sister to play with, I never had a need for one.

None, the extra voices in my mind keep me company though.
Exile, the guide, constantly reminding me that I can stand alone. Pointing out a safer course through the storm-tossed waters of life. He's the source of most of my self-reliance.
Bard, the story-keeper, a clear record of my history, and of the more interesting observations the collective within me has made. He's the source of my (sometimes) quick wit, and near limitless humor about life.
Dryad, the spirit, She's been weakened lately, can't blame her, I've been pushing myself physically for a while. Someone's gotta take up that slack. I'll spend a while meditating, see if we can't fix that. She's very introspective, and helps me talk out a lot of my problems inside my mind. The source of my balance and harmony.
Bard just made a crack I can't repeat here.... goddess it's funny but Dryad's not smiling.
I don't know if it qualifies as me being crazy.

Seth: I had myself psychoanalyzed three times because I thought I was insane for very similar reasons as that. All three told me to actively pursue what I considered insanity Anyway, I can beat all of y'all. I had my imaginary squirrel until grade eight and my little squirrel friend actually landed me in a psychologists office when I was a child because I kept insisting he was real I never.... y'know, thought he was another entity in and of himself, but I thought that he must be real because I was real and he was a part of me. Nobody questioned me on that, though. They were just like "do you believe that he is actually alive?" and I would stare into nothingness with my creepy look and say "yes......." In one psychologists office, on my big evaluation, I got it in my head that people wanted me to act insane, so I spent that session running around, tossing things and making wild claims about where my imaginary friend was, what he was doing, and why I had to stop him. She decided I was delusional. After my previous psychoanalyst thought that something was wrong, because I didnt act like that in my sessions with her, she sent me to another pair of psychologists (my family got in a car crash on the way there the first time and we had to reschedule). When I did meet the two psychologists, I knew I was supposed to act sane, and I did, and then I was deemed sane! Wow..... listen to me ramble on like some old man. Well, hmmm, now you guys know that I've been psychoanalyzed seven times, and only once have I been deemed mentally unacceptable! Beat that record! Anyway, do you guys remember how you lost your imaginary friends? I let mine go out on a grand adventure across the globe. Said good bye to him and everything. He was the part of me who was allowed to roam free *sniff*.

Aww! That's sweet. My blue light-bubble just dissapeared... I think I let him fade out day by day... But his personality is still kinda incartnated into some of my characters, so he still lives on ^__^

Oh dear... Imaginary friends.
I've had my bogeyman since I can remember... You might know him as the character 'Scissor'. I based the character off of him, name and all. I also had an invisible kid called X-ray, because everyone else seemed to look straight through him. Her. It. I'm still not sure. It was blue, and short, and didn't have any facial features or anything. He's been reduced to one of the voices in my head that I shouldn't be hearing, apparently... Only visits very occasionally, usually to remind me of something stupid I did when younger.
When I was in France, I had my muse... And he still tells me what to write... Jacob, who lived behind my ear sometimes, had a serious problem- Rave, his other personallity. They would argue an awful lot, and I had to tell them both to shut up repeatedly, because they were giving me a headache. Usually, now, Jacob tends towards being more human-sized, and even more neurotic than before. Nervous, twitchy, never resting, deep interest in religious and philosophical matters... That's Jacob. Rave is... Scary. He tends to be very violent, and unpredictable... But he has a great sense of humor.
Scissor's still here... He hides out in the closet on occasion. I've only seen him a couple times, but he hasn't changed much. Talks alot when he visits... ^^ He's a great guy. I used to be terrified of him. Not anymore, though...
I've been asessed alot... It started when I was three, methinks. Apparently, medication won't do me any good.XD

I never really had an imaginary friend like that, but I always carried around a teddy bear when I was little, it's name was Rosie. It was pink, and I still have her. I got her when I was... three, I think. Anyway, I'd talk to her, and carry her around and stuff like that... Just normal little kid suff, you know?

I also had a stuffed cat that I attached a weight to, and it was on a pretty fushia leash. This made it perfect for swinging around and 'defending' myself with... Including people who wanted me to stop carrying it around. I named her Bast, after the ancient egyptian goddess of cats. I still have her. She watches my room.
I used to talk to her, to... Sometimes, I still do, if she wants to talk... There's definately someone living(existing?) in there... But they're quiet.
So far, noone's ordered me to hunt anyone down and use their skulls as transistors for the portal, in an attempt to bring the horrors of people's darkest dreams into reality, thus completely shattering the already frail barrier between this reality and the infinitum of others and possibly dooming the earth to be at least a touch more hectic than before, as it flails and babbles in a final effort to sustain its last vestige of what it thought was real, and flying pigs go play croquet...
...So I'm guessing that they aren't really a problem. ^.^
...*Cackles*

....Why speak in the past tense?
Okay, okay, I have to admit that when I was little, the closest I came to imaginary friends were my stuffed animals. I... uh... had a lot. Still have most of them. The most important one is Velvet, of course, because he protects me from bad dreams and creepy things that want to attack me in the dark. Yes, he came to college with me. Along with Comfort, Bunkie, and Raccoon.
I think I make up for not having an invisible imaginary friend now. I get into the heads of my characters so much that they start acting on their own and I have absolutely no idea what they're gonna do next. It's actually kind of fascinating.

One of my various imaginary freinds that I had back when I lived in Nebraska was a clone of myself that only existed in reflections. He had some pretty good ideas, but I ignored him when he started telling me to kill people.

Ooo interesting thread! I had a lot myself, though I can't recall all the names anymore (I had them written down though) A few of them became characters that I drew a lot, but the ealier ones not so much. Just a lot of cats with wings earlier in the days, then along came Bob and Billy, and Taco Bill, who were sort of demony things with teeth like bear-traps, and swirly eyes. Then there wasWill (whose ears I based another Tony character's hair on, which later became Hex's hairdo) who was a handsome but slightly geeky guy who fancied himself a movie star. Another was Mike the Alien, who was basically a big-eyed alien with a hat and big pants. There was Zero, a pyromaniacal cat/dog/sprite thing with crazy hair. He eventually grew up a bit when I started using him for stories I was making, but he started out short and had a small pear-shaped body with huge feet and a big head. He slowly evolved to be taller and less animal-like (got rid of the whiskers he had too). I know there's more but I can't recall any of them ^_^ I remeber though, whenever I went somewhere in a car I was always worried that one of them (Zero or Will since they were most special) would get left behind, and I thought of them running after the vehicle. For some reason they could run super-fast and since they were invisble I guess they could just pass through walls or moving vehicles too. My toys I made of them eventually became their "solid" form, (except Will because he didn't turn out like I wanted so I thought of him as a different one) and I used to think they were watching me somehow, or were alive. Wait. Still feel like that! (I don't get dressed/undressed in my room for that reason, too many eyes!)

Will would be interesting to meet. I'd probably get into a lot of arguments with him concerning whether or not he was a movie star. He'd probably win though, as much as I like arguing, I always lose. Always.

In 10th grade, during a particular rough patch of depression and loneliness, I invented for myself an imaginary girlfriend. Her name is Cassie May Sediman, and she has uneven blonde hair and wears a pink T-shirt with a Pikachu on it. She's basically exactly like I am, except a girl. She still shows up from time to time when I'm particularly lonely and not-ever-having-anyone-to-pour-affection-out-on. Recently she's developed a more not-a-carbon-copy-of-me personality.

I had an imaginary friend... Her name was Kitty and... you guessed it she was a cat... My mom told me that ever since I was three all I would talk about was my baby doll named Baby... I was really creative... and Kitty. Well anyways, Baby's head fell off cause I played with her so much but kitty was my BF until I was 9 and my parents got me a real cat... I think they thought that it was the best was to see kitty off... She still pops up every once and a while but mostly just when I am bored... One of these days I may draw a picture of her but I haven't gotten around to that yet...
Well Ink I guess you learn somthing new everyday... I haven't been to a hockey game since I was 11...
