Yeah, I was all upset and stuff because someone (in a round about way) said I wasn't original, and I couldn't prove it because DD erased my archives ALONG WITH the original update dates. Then the great constipated Google that claims to retain everything it caches failed me miserably when I couldn't find a single screenshot from 2004 (when CTV first started posting online) But the Wayback Machine had it, oh yes! *skippydance*
The long story: Yeah, some of you are aware there is another Vampirate comic (no, she/he didn't rip me off, in fact he/she gets as much crap already over the book "Vampirate" and heck what's in a name? It's a completely different comic and nicely drawn at that)
But! The point: someone mentioned said book yet again to him/her and she/he says basically he/she is aware of that and another comic (guess who) and they hadn't been aware of them at the time (reasonable enough and completely understandable)
But a fan comes in and says " Yeah it's called Charby the Vampirate or something (or something?!) but your comic has been around way longer"
CTV started in January of '04. His, in '05. Just thought I'd clear that up, and if no one believe that, then they can go to the wayback and punch in the address.
Should I defend my honour? or leave it alone...I feel it villifies me and makes me look like I stole the idea or something. And should I put the dates on there somewhere too, so this doesn't happen again? I mean geee....

Defend your honour if you feel it has truly been wounded, but consider who it is you are defending yourself against. Most people (myself included.) simply aren't worth the effort. Let them say what they will, I say. I know who and what I am, (unfortunately.) and to me, that is (more than) enough.

hehe, I did anyway ^_^ I hope I did so in a respectful enough manner though, but I did feel a little rude at first. I gave enough compliments hopefully to the author of the comic to make up for it though ^_^ Hopefully it goes over well, I hate when people compare my comic to the same thing over and over too so that person has my sympathies!

Heh, Kind of like comparing my music to all the other bands that play the same genre. Gets old. We don't sound /that/ similar.
Anyway, hope it all goes over well, and if it doesn't, just remember... you don't have to see any of those people tomorrow, so what's it matter?
I wish you a blissful, and more importantly, peaceful day. Remember, for what it's worth, we're here for you if you need us.

That's a nice comic, only thing I dislike is the really...yoai scene. *watches most of the fangirls of charby flock to the other comic* lol
Love ya, Amelius!

only thing I dislike is the really...yoai scene. *watches most of the fangirls of charby flock to the other comic* Tis true! ;D I did a search last night on Yahoo for 'vampirate' and came up with that pirate & his poo flinging monkey. Not impressed, shelfed the thought of any other vampirate comic. Then I saw that post! So, searched again, adding the word 'comic'-- found "that other comic". It is pretty cool, drawn in manga style. However it cannot compare to Charby! Because Charby is cute and makes me laugh. There is no other comic like Charby. Many thanks, Amelius!

Heh, yea the yaoi isn't really my bag either but I try to ignore the sex stuff in a comic anyway, and the preference of the characters does not bother me in a comic as long as it's got a good story and art to back it up. otherwise it's just shameless fanservice T_T.
Okuni: yup, I know about that one too, I was a little grossed out by the poo! I'm very happy that you like Charby though! ( I feel like the person who mixed the timelines has a personal out for me since I saw another comment she left about that comic being better than all vampire-pirate combos...which that's fine, her opinion and all but besides the ms-paint one and the cheesy sci-fi book, I'm the only other one and that kinda hurt because I KNOW she didn't bother to read mine, since she couldn't even be sure she got the name right! Sigh, I guess there's not enough boy-loving in it for her, or really any for that matter.)
I dunno, I guess it just bothers me when I get judged like that before anyone gives me chance. I mean jeez, yeah I really can crank out more than 600 pagesin less than a year with such varying quality, huh? It would be obvious to anyone I've been online more than a year!

And this person was worth the effort? Eh, if it makes you feel any better, I run into multitudes of idiots, daily. I should get hazard pay for some of the stuff I deal with.
