Hi everyone! I used to post here like, nine years ago. I was sixteen, now twenty-five. I remember people like Amelius, Shippo_no_Neko, Daybreak, DeltaT, Zolah, DarkfireTaimatsu, XDaggers, Silverwolf, Scarecrow, RyokoDragonez, Momo, EEN, Stonestrike, Daggertooth, MagickLorelai, Milknut, and Nienisprings. Glad to see CtV has it's own site now, as well as wiki and TVTropes!
Anyone remember me? I kind of hope you don't! I acted out some of my teenage angst here. But I'd love to hear from some old names and how they're doing today!

Talk about a blast from the past! Don't worry, I think we all were a bit more... teenager-y a decade ago, haha. This is Daybreak, btw. Never could figure out the password for my old account, and it's attached to a defunct e-mail. Bummer.

Sorry Wolfy! Maybe I mixed you up with Silverwolf's username? Were you pretty high-energy, active in the RP, and friends with Shippo?
Since I left CTV I got in my first relationship, graduated high school, broke up with my first girlfriend, met my father whom I'd been estranged from for 11 years and connected with his biological family who neither of us knew. Joined the Katimavik program and worked with the intellectually disabled in Summerside, PEI, then for the Regional Food Distribution Association in Thunder Bay, Ontario, then worked in Chisasibi, Cree Nation in North Quebec. Came back and worked in three factories, becoming a Machine Operator. My mother was diagnosed with Hepatitus C, then recovered from it. Joined Canada World Youth and worked in La Pocatiere, Quebec, as a horticulturalist, then went to Mali, West Africa and worked there. Met and broke up with my second girlfriend. Had a falling out with my father. My Great Grandmother turned 100 and my Great Aunt passed away, followed by my Great Grandmother just before she would turn 101. Went to college and completed the Human Services Foundation Program, got into Social Services, and now it's just a couple months before I graduate.
How have you guys been these past 9 years?!

Yes, yes, and I'd like to think so. XD
You've certainly been busy, though. I... graduated high school, got one degree and am working on another. I live a fairly boring life.

Ah, most of what I've been doing has been... not very fun. Since I posted my own return thread, I've moved back in with my parents due to Boston being really freaking expensive and retail not providing a living wage. Got a job at a used book store. Applied for a fiancee permit to move to Norway. Lost the job at the used book store because the owner didn't pay rent on the retail space for a ludicrous amount of time. Got a job at a big box retail book store. Wait time for my application got pushed from six months to nine. Got a rejection in November (complicated, involving income back in 2013). Appealed the rejection, so we're now waiting until May to hear whether our application's going to go forward or we'll need to reapply and start the whole process over again. I'm more than ready to go back to grad school and move on with my life, but until the immigration stuff gets sorted my life's on hold. Stuck in retail purgatory, I guess.
Also I really suck at language learning. All this time and I'm barely proficient with simple tourist phrases.
Got my lady for a couple weeks at the end of December, but 2.5 weeks in a year and a half is... not enough. Srsly. So yeah, I'm a bit of a downer right now, but hanging in there =P

I remember you real well now, Wolfy. You'd gone by Wolfchild and Wolfdancer as well, right? What degree did you get, and what are you working toward now?
You're not the only one who feels down about themselves, Daybreak. I've had some exotic adventures, but objectively I'm kind of a loser. My journey's been peppered with breakups, illness, and death. I did Katimavik because I didn't know what I wanted to do for post-secondary education and I couldn't find work because I had no real experience and the economic recession was hitting full-force. I worked in three factories and became a machine operator because I had to reject an offer to do Canada World Youth after Katimavik because my mother was going through Hepatitus C treatment and needed support. I got passed around by a temp agency because an automobile industry that was solely responsible for keeping my hometown out of the recession had like, 25 branches in the city. They could lay me off every 3 months and rotate me to a new branch as a legal loophole to dodge a law that said they would have to put me on contract after the three month mark.
Human Services Foundation was a one-year college prep program that I took because I applied for Social Services past the date of equal consideration and couldn't stand one more year of working factories. Social Services is only a two-year college diploma program. In the US, I think that translates to an associates degree at a community college.
Right now I'm living in student housing (not a residence, but an area marketed to students). I'm the oldest in my house, and I still can't drive. I'm also the only one of my old group of high school friends that I know of (who isn't dead) that isn't in a relationship.

Yus! =D That was me. I still do, sorta. Wolfy's what it got shortened to over the year, so it's what I display. I got your basic general knowledge transfer degree to be a vet, realized that wasn't going to work out (medical things I can handle... except for shots. Can't watch shots at all, I literally faint. But I handle watching someone get stitched up just fine, go figure) so now I'm going for a degree in accounting. And it is SO MUCH FUN! =D Accounting is so much fun, you've no idea. I love it, should have made it my focus years ago.

Funny how shots effect people. I'm fine with people putting needles in me if they're taking blood out but if they're putting something in like a vaccination, then I'm absolutely unhappy about it. I'd be the guy who asks if he can stay an extra twenty minutes past the time they ask you to wait in case it effects you adversely. You know, just in case. Don't like the idea of foreign chemicals running through my veins. I've always thought being a vet would be harder than being a doctor. Such a diversity of body types to deal with! You're right, I have no idea how accounting could be so much fun What's your favourite thing about accounting?

Everything! ... Except for managerial accounting. That one is terrible and makes my brain leak. But everything else is fun!

I'm pretty sure I couldn't handle the emotional drain of being a vet - or in Social Services, for that matter! I have a hard enough time just dealing with customers who think retail employees are less than human. Kudos to you, Rehiro. World needs people like you, absolutely. Sounds like you've had a rough ride, but your worth as a person doesn't lie in your relationship status or ability to drive. And heck, I graduated from a highly regarded four-year private college and can't get a job in my field - along with many other people from my graduating class. The economy is what it is, but our generation's getting the short end of the stick in terms of employment opportunities.
If my situation allowed it, I'd be in school for Library and Information Science (I'm kind of keen on Archiving), or Ethology. There's a Systematics program in Oslo I've got my eye on, too, that's supposed to be a good step towards doing curatorial work. We'll see how things go, I suppose. I've also got this stupid pipe dream of starting a program to train dogs to detect invasive pests in crops and trees through scent, but that's kinda out there and silly =P.

ohmygosh whoa HEY it's Rehiro!!!(☆ᗜ☆) I'll try and post a longer greeting more appropriate to welcoming you back when I'm more awake but wanted to at least say hi! Really super glad to see you again! (super sorry I'm noticing this JUST now too!)

Aw you replied on my birthday and I forgot to check! Bad Amy! Oh I've been up and down, but mostly good! The biggest thing I've had going on is the new site and revamping the archives! I guess I'd mention also EEN is married to me now haha! Other than that, really I've just been focusing on my work and managing the depression/anxiety as best I can (there were a few misfortunes but I'd rather not recount them at the moment, as being plagued by sad thoughts is what woke me up at 4 am as I'm typing this as opposed to me just being awake way past 4 am as a usual thing for my work schedule!)
GOSH though it sounds like you've been through a lot wow!
Speakin of shots! I'm actually not too bothered by them, I just don't like the aftermath of feeling that stuff running around in my arms. Maybe i'm just thinking of all shots like tetanus shots though which I had to get recently thanks to my cat biting my hand pretty badly when I broke up a fight between him and one of the temp cats we found in the park (who are going to live with my parents as soon as the snow melts!) I was at first like "yeah this is fine" but then as the day progressed I just didn't want to move my arm anymore!

Ehhh, you're not obligated to respond to me on your birthday! And... if I'm being 100% honest, I didn't really time my response that way on purpose. Otherwise I would have said Happy Birthday! I'm glad that I did message you on your birthday, though! Did you do anything for it?
Odd as it sounds, I feel like I already knew about you and EEN. I must have dropped by here, or information carried to me, somehow. I think I knew you two were together, but I don't think I knew you were married!
I kind of want to start in on CTV again, but I don't really remember where I left off. Did Floaty Bear ever get that other eye open?

Haha I figured it wasn't timed that way it just ended up like that! (⌒‿⌒)
Yup, I went over to the bro-in-law's to watch some Ip Man movies! We got over a little late though 'cuz I couldn't stop working haha! Ordered some dinner from the restaurant down the street on our phone and were waiting for the call, and after an hour we drove down to see what was going on and it turns out someone else walked off with our order! (Thankfully we didn't get charged for it because they apparently paid, but that was weird!)
As for our bear friend, he's still going cyclops for now! I'm not sure exactly where you left of either or I'd definitely help out! (⌒ᗜ⌒)
