A/N: This little lament is dedicated to my character Alexander who has lost someone very dear to him recently. He's been acting incredibly emo lately so I decided he needed this written for him. I also decided I'd share it with everyone here. Read on if you like, it's quiet sad.
The young wizard sat atop the large, stone castle, green eyes watching the sun set beyond the horizon. “Out, out brief candle.” he whispered to the changing sky, closing his eyes. He laid back gently, his long blond hair splayed around his head like a halo. Night was coming quickly, bringing a chill wind along with it yet he felt no need to go inside. Only to lay there and let the moon shine it's light on him as it had done many nights before; to lay and think of loved lost. “You never know how much you truly love someone until they are truly gone.” he lamented to the quiet world around him. “Until they are lost from sight forever, with out hope of ever returning. Until the very last word is spoken and the last tear has dried up.” he sighed, opening his eyes which glistened with moisture. Looking to the moon he reached up slowly, as if trying to take it in his hand before remembering how far away it was. “Our lips shall meet no more and I shall never again revel in the sweet taste of your kiss. Shall never again feel the heat of your gentle touch or swim in your eyes, the color of the sea. You are forever gone from my world, my dear, but never gone from my heart.” Silently, the wizard stood up, brushing off the tears from his face and stood on the edge of the colossal castle before walking right over. “Out, out brief candle indeed.” he said, before touching the ground with out a sound, looking up to the sky one last time before walking away. “But my own is brief as well. So until we meet again, my love, my darling, my dear, sweet Angeline."
