Hello, you can call me IDK, and I've been reading CTV for about four weeks. I've read the whole archive, and now I am re-reading my favorite bits over and over, and I can't seem to stop... not that I mind. At all. I have fallen in love with the series, and I wanted to be able to talk with other fans about the multi-layred world of Charby the Vampirate. I'm not sure how possible that will be, since I seem to have arrived after the party ended, and even the last twitching has stopped. Which, sadly, happens to me. A lot. I hope that somehow I can contact maybe somebody on here, and we can talk about CTV, because that would be awesome, don't you think? Anyway, the last thing I can think of to tell you right now is that I often have horrible spelling. And this, being a board, is a place where one does nothing BUT spell... Why do I do these things to myself again? ... Oh. Right.
Because CHARBY IS AWESOME!!!! Rock on, Amelius, rock. On.

I would love to! I seem to be in the same situation as you. I've been reading CTV for a year now; it was love at first bite... er, well that pun doesn't work as well as I'd like here, but you get the point . Only just recently, however did I decided I'd make an effort in the forums here. Interesting story- Another webcomic I read (I'm not gonna plug it, though) had a forum that was deader than this place. It took two people to get it alive and kickin'. Me and my brother began using it to talk about all sorts of things related to the webcomic and otherwise and the other readers, as well as authors/ artists followed suit soon after. It took a lot of frequent posting, but perhaps with your help we could bring some life back into the CTV forums. I check it on a semi-daily basis, so if you'd post often, I know I would. It can't be done alone, and even if we're the only people who use the forum, I would love to have another fan to discuss it with. I've actually got a backlog of things I've wanted to discuss about CTV, but have had not much of a sufficient outlet. I'll be completely honest with you here. I'm a tad obsessed with CTV, but the series is really just perfect for me. Heh... I can't even write this response without calling it perfect. But anyway, the multi-layered universe of CTV is one that certainly warrants a lively forum and you needn't worry about spelling as long as I understand you. I hope something can come of this. Hope to hear a response soon. ;D

-is spastic with joy- YES! Let's do this! I've always wanted to try necromancy! W00T!
Hehe... Oh, I would very VERY much like - scratch that- LOVE to talk about Charby with you! That's the whole reason I came to these boards!
It's such an amazing comic, and it deserves a wholesome and active online discussion that is inviting to everybody.
There are so many things I want to talk about... I tried showing CTV to my best friend, but she's very busy with another fandom she's obsessing over, and if I push too hard, she won't ever like CTV. It's like a waiting game with a cat. BUT the point is I have all this Charby-fannage all locked up inside my head with no one to talk about it to. I would be overjoyed to be able to talk about anything Charby related with you!
Maybe we should open up a new thread in another forum and start talking there, because now this is less 'welcome' talk and more 'stuff that should be on the main boards' talk. ^^ I'll see you there!
Oh, and if you replay quickly, I'll reply quickly, because I have obsessive habits when it comes to things I like, and having in-depth discussions about awesome things like CTV is something I would LOVE.

Oh, I know how it is. I've told many friends about CTV. Only one person that I know of actually decided to read it. It can be rather disheartening that they won't give it a chance. Perhaps that merely means we're awesome for being among those who did.
I think you're right though. There are some other topics in which I have commented somewhat recently or started. Feel free to springboard from any of those. Or perhaps start up an old thread? Not sure, but there's a whole slew of topics in here, many of which I have yet to read to any extent. Right now though, I've gone 20 hours without sleep, so I can barely keep my eyes open right now. Hopefully tomorrow I can find something to say in a different thread.

Saying CTV is the best comic in existance is a bit naive. It is very well written and illustrated, yes, but not everyone is into the blood and gore of it. It is difficult to select a best comic as people have such varying tastes. You strip the comics down into sales or views, but even if you could get an unbiased opinion, there are so many factors. CTV is currently in first place for me, although it frequently exchanges places with public humiliation. Ironically, PH only has a modest following, so it's mainly my liking of the themes within it and the daily updates, so as far as viewers are concerned, the 'best comic' in this case, and many others, isn't always what I'm looking for. Many of the syndicated comics - Marvel, DC - that I used to ogle over as a kid, I would probably only read now if I was desperate. I have a very strange taste in comics and it seems to be evolving all the time.

Welcome back to the boards! ^^ Your 'rabid fan' is showing. -amused look- I never said CTV was the best comic in existance, just awesome, while the1truesushiboy DID say it was 'perfect' he only said it was perfect for him. Neither of us used absolutes, you know. Please, don't take this the wrong way, I'm just saying. And, you are correct. Using generalizations is, generally, a bad idea.

By no means do I attempt to assert that CTV is finitely better than any other comic, but to use the best analogy I have, if each of our own individual tastes, the likes and dislikes of any given medium, are a specific shape, and the qualities of an artistic piece in that medium are similarly formed into a shape, then CTV is the square peg that perfectly fits the square hole that my preferences make. And, I know that sounds really quite silly, because tastes change and all that, but my tastes have not changed since I was born. The only changes were that I could better define what those tastes are and that I've experienced new things. It's crazy, I know, to hear me say that CTV is perfect for me, but I'm very serious. And this is the only case in which I use the word inexplicable, because it really is. I analyze and contemplate it all and every. tiny. detail I find suits me personally to a degree that quite astounds me, to be honest. The subtleties and not so subtleties of every quality I consider... To put it another way, if you were to offer somebody a sample of food, and they didn't like it, you might say "Well, it's not for everyone.", there must be somebody whose tastes are just so, so the food is for them, in a "perfectly fitting" way. It's difficult to explain without coming off as obsessed, because I can carry on about "why CTV is awesome", but believe me when I say that my reasoning for liking CTV is very deep, well thought out, and even philosophical.
