We sort of had this debate a little while ago on the main comic but based by their maturity level/how they act what age are all the CTV characters.
Charby: 22 Hex: 30 Mye: 16 but mature for 16 Zeno: 15 Menu: 21 Azalea: 16 Faye: 14 Phineus: 17 Kavonn: 38 Manik: 20 but loony Claire: 19 Rosemary: 44 Sadick: 32 Labelle: 19 Gabby: 6

I think you're making some of them a little TOO old. Menu and Hex, in particular. Though Rosemary, I can totally see as being 44.

Hmm good point. I say Tony is......*does Samrick pose which is hard without the little extra arms* 23.
Just my opinion of course but I totally see Menu as like a college looser (no offense to Menu fans) the guy who sleeps all day and attends like 1 class and then parties at night just in menu's case he doesn't drink beer.
As for Hex, I just think he is a very serious mature character. He has seen a lot of hardship in his life and I certainly think that has aged him on the side.

Hm, I see what you mean about Menu now. However, while I think Hex is mature, I don't think he's aged. If you follow your line of thought, then I'd actually think he'd be older, not younger.

How so? Suffering tends to make one more mature or break you IMO and Hex clearly hasn't had his spirit broken.

What about Zerlocke? I think the ages all seem right. I agree with EEN. Hex's suffering would probably make him very mature. Although by that argument Mye should definately be older than 16. Maybe a mature 19 or 20. Because a mature 16 year old doesn't really fit in with how she behaves, methinks.
Personally, I don't like to think about their ages. I like that the characters seem to be ageless in this, despite their outward appearance. :3

Well Mye likes a lot of girly stuff like gummy bears and giant teddy bears. She strikes mostly as like a put upon step sister in a fairy tail young but forced to do a grown ups work.
I think the intention is for the characters to be ageless but forums thrive on questions like this so hence here it is. ^_^

Mannick strikes me as younger than 20. While he occasionally does show some understanding of mature relationships (they need some time alone!) he possesses a childlike innocence that I would put at more like 10 or 11.

EEN: Haha, yeah, forums do thrive on this stuff. But I do like the agelessness of her characters. :3
Vagus: Yeah, I think he's like a little child who has mature flashes. XD Either that or he's an insane twenty year old. Actually, it could go either way, come to think of it. :3

EEN: I think you're kind of misunderstanding me. I mean to say that he's mature, very much so. I understand what you mean about suffering, and he has a lot of responsibility. But (and I'm not really sure how to explain this) he just doesn't come off as older for it. He strikes me as early twenties, not because of his lack of maturity, but because of his general youthfullness and vitality, but also to a certain extent because of his ignorance. He doesn't strike me as being necessarily wise or worldly (keep in mind that being 'wise' and being 'intelligent' are two different things). His own bodily sacrifices (despite the fact that they're for Mye, who he is extremely devoted to) and often attempts at 'getting back' at those who, while they may deserve their comeuppance (spelling?), don't need quite such violent ones, point to a certain lack of judgement. His disregard for life is, in my opinion, either very nonchalant or very psychotic. Considering the torture he suffered, you would think he would understand not hurting others better, but his philosophy clearly runs the other way: because he experienced suffering, he feels he needs to save others who are suffering, despite the fact that he is inflicting suffering. While I can understand this logic, it lacks the concept of there being a greater picture and looking at humanity as a whole (again, this is just my opinion). That makes him seem younger to me more than anything else.

Hex has a considerable amout of restraint actually. He kept for attacking Zeno or Zerlocke after all. He amulet just runs on auto-pilot sometimes.
Keep in mind he walked the earth for a while since he didn't join Mye at the cabin right away and he is one of the few CTV people to really use a computer (granted it looks like Strongbad's old computer but still). I think he is probably the most worldly of the core cast IMO of course.

But again, being the most worldly doesn't mean he's aged. Think of all the teens who can use computers better than their parents.
He kept from attacking Zeno and Zerlocke for Mye's sake (as far as I believe). I wouldn't think his amulet runs on auto-pilot as much. I'm not really as familiar with what type of magic it involves, so I can't be for sure, but it seems to me that he considers what he's going to be doing before he does it. And I understand that most of those situations are simply for comic relief, and I am aware that the comic overall is very bloody. But you still have to take into consideration that it is Hex who has the power to do these things, and it is Hex who chooses to do them. I'm not really sure how to explain that concept, except to say that it could have been a different character with a different personality or backstory (one that does not exist, obviously) but since it's not, the burden of the actions falls to Hex. If that makes sense.
As far as being around for a while, well, then you'd think he'd have learned that exploding things or killing people with shopping carts is not the answer. Basically, that he would have been more wise to the world, and to know that these things have happened and be hardened to them. But as I mentioned before, this just has the opposite effect, making him feel he needs to justify every wrong he sees. It's not, in my opinion, a very mature way to looks at things. You've got to know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em, as country music kindly tells us.
Keep in mind that I'm not disagreeing with you on the fact that he's mature, I just think he's not as old. If Mye can be a mature 16, then Hex can be a mature 23 or so.

Being able to use a computer has nothing to do with worldly. I know a lot of people who can use a computer but couldn't walk downtown by themselves.
Why isn't killing people with shopping carts the answer if you are a X-hundred year old warlock? Again that is all the more reason for him being functionaly old. From his perspective he'll never see the jerks again, either way he has zero consiquences and he can do it easily. So why wouldn't he?
If you haven't noticed most of the characters on this list hang out together, they have things in common, except for Hex. Why? Again because Hex is much older on the inside then most of these people he really doesn't relate much to them. That is why he isn't a mature 23 from my point of view.

You brought up the computer, not me. It depends on which connotation of 'worldly' you're using.
See, I don't think killing someone is ever the answer, so the fact that you're an extremely old warlock doesn't make a lick of difference. But even if killing is sometimes the answer, who is Hex to decide who lives and dies? And it really doesn't show much forethought to think, 'Well, I'll just kill anyone who annoys me, nothing bad will happen, right?' That's a road leading to disaster. Just think of when he killed those girls who were whispering about him; sure, it was a mistake to kill them, and he did feel regret. But he jumped to conclusions and let his emotions take over, which doesn't seem like a very mature decision to me. And what if next time, the consequences are more severe? You'd think he would be more cautious, considering what he's been through. But he's very cavalier with his powers, which doesn't seem very mature to me either.
I understand what you mean about the internal age gap. But even then, looking at the functional ages you gave the other characters, 23 can be considered a gap. In this instance, I'm willing to concede to 25 (pending further dicussion). ;D At that point, Charby would be the closest in age to Hex, which seems about right to me.
