I love weasels! And ferrets! And shameful as it is I had a beck the ferret comic published in the school newspaper and I spelled "weasel" wrong (like "weasle"). But this is for happy!
I love my 2 ferrets and I've been a ferret-nut ever since I met the real Beck the ferret.
I just wish they didn't stink!
(edit: I feel foolish, I had no idea I was logged out and was wondering "wow, since when do we have to type code to make new posts? How inconvenient! Haha, I'm such a dweeb! For a moment I was a guest named "weasels!)

Ah Mustela... An interesting genus.... No but seriously, I don't know a lot about Weasels, save for their diet and the like, which almost anyone here could find out with llittle trouble. So, enlighten me Amelius! Tell me about Weasels, and why you like them so much?
As for Ferrets, they are a bit of a stinky pet... Of course, the "friend" I had who kept them wasn't a particularly clean man. I know very little about the animal myself, but I hear you can train them to hunt rabbits and the like. I'd have loved to have seen that. Aren't the ferret and weasel related?
Oh, please cure my ignorance! I know ... it's a lot to ask, isn't it?

I think there is a procedure to remove the ferret's musk gland too, but it's a better idea to not remove it since I hear it may compromise their health. Skunks would be an awesome pet! In Florida, there are skunk shows. People have bred skunks to be different colors; like buff and blue/grey; besides the usual black. Raccoons, however, do NOT make good pets. They're mean, vicious things.

I used to want a raccoon until I realized that they'd be very hard to domesticate. Now I know they're better viewed in the wild, at a distance. I get to see some every now and then when they come onto the back porch. =D
And uh...if you like weasels, don't listen to Weird Al's new album...at least not the song with weasels in the title.

Hehe, weasels are just...awesome. I'll write more about them when I don't have a drowsy, drooling cat on my lap ^_^ (not Boots sadly T_T)
Yep, ferrets and weasels are related, as well as: mink, ermine, fishers, otters, badgers, wolverines, skunks and stoats.
They are pretty smelly, those ferrets but yes they get their scent gland removed when they are pets (it sprays like a skunks but is less powerful, comparable to a bad fart I heard) they are still naturally musky but they get shampoo and deodorizer for it. Goshness, I'd love a skunk too ^_^ hehe I heard about it, but I like Weird Al and I'm sure I'd find humor in that song ( after all I did do the gorey "Beck the Ferret" for years before CTV!)

You know what would be cool? Having a trench coat with a family of bats in it. And hang around with it on winter.

Aww, how cute! I'm not a huge fan of little rodents like rats and mice, but I think that ferrets are really adorable! I'm not quite sure of the difference between ferrets and weasels, though ^^;;

Ew. Gross... It's not their faces or anything, but their tails! They're like nasty worms! And rats carry nasty diseases and stuff... Yuck! I like dogs, because they're big and nice. And you can bathe them if you think that they look dirty. And they're always happy for attention and love! But... back on topic: Ferrets don't have gross tails, so they're A-Okay!

They dont have nasty worms for tails silly! Theyre made of scales and fine hair, and what diseases are you talking about? The plague? They carried flees that carried the plague, and then people carried the plague just as much as the rats did, and it was the humans environment which caused the plague to be spread. Why do the rats always get blamed?
Oh, and you can bathe a rat, and they like attention and love too. Dogs are fine, but they always attack me............
Anyway, back on topic, ferrets dont regularly attack me, so theyre A-okay!

Rats are pretty awesome. I've always wanted the hooded type as pets, but was afraid I would be bitten by them. Mostly, because I had been bitten by a big rat before. In my 8th grade science class, we had two big pet rats and the teacher would let us play with them (and the other rodents). Well, I guess the rat didn't like me or I scared it because when I went to touch it, it bit down on my finger. And it bit HARD. It was an ugly, tan rat too. Not an interesting colored one.
I agree with Rehiro-- ferrets don't attack. Or bite as hard as rats. They just play bite; they don't know people skin is thinner than theirs! I love ferrets, they're like a puppy and kitten combined.

My rats were hooded, and I never got bitten, though it is said that every rat owner, no matter how careful they are, gets bitten at least once. I guess I have to admit that the rat isnt a totally peaceful animal under all circumstances.
To be honest, I really like ferrets. I had a bit of an obsession with them a while ago, but I never got one.
