Hello this is Augen's brother, Clint. I am here to tell you that Augen died at 9:24 this morning. He was fixing a ceiling fan in our living room when he accidentally got his throat sliced half-way through. While he bled and suffocated, he asked me to announce his death to the forums, so people would know that he would no longer be around. May his soul rest in peace...

*agrees*
didn't two radio DJs get fired for playing the same type of prank?
I was considering replying on April Fools, but didn't in case it really did happen.

You can't get your throat sliced a fan.

Ceiling fans stop when they are bumped by anything. They also start very slowly (when fixing a fan it would be turned off). Unlike the movies, they don't have enough power to chop through a human limb (much less a throat. You'd get a nasty bruise... but no slicing). The fan blades are also very thick and dull - again a bruise but no slicing.
Another thing... When one's throat is cut, death is very quick (Asphixiation) and no speach would be possible. (Ever seen one of those guys who has a breathing tube in his neck? He has to cover the tube to talk or use sign language).
Also, the last request of most people given only a few moments to live is generally about their family/friends - not usually about forums they sometimes visit. (What about the other forums/games/msn you have friends on?)
And finally, the post was made April first - the typical day for joking posts like that. Not to mention that 'death posts' are frequently made by people who are looking for attention and sympathy - not their families. (Families are usually greiving too much to even consider online friends. Mostly they put up an obituary in the local paper and call a few close friends and family members.)
Pardon my harshly realistic reply... however as a joke, this type of prank isn't that funny. The heartbreak and loss of trust everafter for those who care about you is almost unbearable. In my opinion: Cruel Joke.

No blood2 teh brain= no oxygen to teh brain = DEATH!!

"Throat" <- Implying the windpipe. Neck would imply jugular would it not?
However for the sake of discussion... When one jugular is cut the person survives about fifteen minutes, passing in and out of conciousness as the brain tries to compensate for half the blood supply it usually gets. (Information from a science teacher who held someone in his arms as she died after a car accident.)
In the case of the jugular, last words are possible, but the throat (implying windpipe) - no chance of talking. Maybe making interesting blood/air spurts from the wound.

actually an industrial ceiling fan can cut you under certain circumstances, i was working at elk mountain(a ski resort in p.a.) and i saw one of my friends get caught by the edge it sliced his scalp pretty good, not enough to be serious though. the fans above the boots spun super fast to dry the boots, i actually got knocked off a ladder by one while re stocking the top shelf!
