Don't hurt me, I'm a newb! *assumes the fetal position*
Actually, I need help in writing something. I can write it, but I need fellow writers and critiquers to help me on my quest to assume my goal!
What I need help on is describing a world called Caeruleus.
(here's the introduction from my website at www.freewebs.com/sephrenia0110 )
Caeruleus- a world where the sky is your sea, where the only land at hand consists of platueas and floating islands, which usually host cities that far surpass our own. Where magic is a common thing, and where races co-exist in peace. A world where there are no countries to speak and the only rulers are those of cities and of homes. This place where peace and tranquility can be found in every ray of the sun, every setting of the moon, where adventure is just around the corner to the next pirate ship, this place of magic and mystery, darkness and light, technology and the most interesting of creatures, is just around the corner.
Please join me in learning more about this world- the world of Caeruleus.
(^_^;
I'm still writing it down, and from what I hope you have figured out, I am just starting to write it.
To be precise, I am still on the geography section, and it is troubling me. The hardest part of a story in my opinion is moving forward, because I can go on for days on end just describing one particular scene.
(here's what I have so far of the geography section)
The geography of Caeruleus' above world is made up of plateaus and floating islands that rise for thousands of feet above the ground. Actually, they rise so far up that some people have doubts that there even is a ground below. All they can see is clouds and blue sky.
But yes, there is a ground. The world on the surface of this planet will be discussed in a different section of this website.
The plateaus, like all plateaus, vary in size and structure. Most of them are only 20-50 square feet in diameter, but there are some that are only five square feet, and even others that are the size of a very large city.. and then some.
On the top of these plateaus are flat, fertile ground, that can be used for growing many different types of plants. This ground is also much lighter than our dirt, and can come off very easily if not properly moistured.
This world carries plants very much like ours, save a few. Trees are especially important in this world and are frequently turned to for remedies, fortune telling, love potions... depending on the type of tree.
Tell me, what do you think about it? I don't think that I need help doing the actual writing and thinking up ideas (you may give some ideas if you want though), but I just need some pushes along the way. Just tell me your opinion and I will be grateful to you.
