I'm an RP junkie. But I'm only a mediochre GM, 'cause I keep getting distracted... OH! SHINEY!
Wait... uh. Well, anyways, Sybil isn't a real good main-plot-character. She's more of a sneak-about-in-shadows character. There's a bit of plot surrounding her ex-lover (HEY! Stop biting my ankle, I don't care if you're on the outs with him!).
.... Is she gone? Good. He's not really a Satyre, but don't tell Sybs that. She don't know.

No, it's not...I wonder if it is because you type in word...some of your shorter posts don't have them...do you type them in the quick response box?

Or is it because your comp is set up for Asian languages? Those keyboard settings can convert random punctuation to letters.
... And I'm glad that it's not just me who's seeing those...

*watches everything vaguely interestedly*
I dunno much about GMing, but I do RP my fair share (*cough*190+pages*cough*). I might be able to work something out--although I'm not even in the RP. *sweatdrop*
I'm interested to see how this turns out, though.

Hmmm... Let's think. We need a 'leader' type character, to bring people around into the plot. *Ponders*

Yes, precisely. Right now, the character that bests fits that description is Haruko.
And I think 'Tooth would make a great GM. His posts are well thought-out, descriptive, informative, and he showed some skill handling the huntsman scene in the Free RP.
Erf. Chat more later, me go sleep now.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Nychus wouldn't make a good "leader" character. He is still quite rattled at his sudden transformation. Most my posts are actualy typed in word and copy and pasted over. whenever the three dots ... look like c it is copied from microsoft word. I just have horrible spelling. Smaller posts I typicaly just type in the quick reply.

Well mainly i find it more organizing for longer posts. That and I have horrible spelling. Well, mainly because I have horrible spelling.
But I'll stop all that word stuff. If it makes my posts annoying then its not worth it. Well at least for the Roleplays...

Y'know, if youse hit the "reply" button on the bottom bar you can open up a reply window that's a bit more advanced and has a spell-check option

So, does anyone have a good 'leadership' type character? We need one of those to set the basic plot...

I was wondering if I could play Mannaz instead... He hasn't had a chance to play on these forums yet.

I've kinda worked out the basic outline of the plot so far....
Asthon is wandering in the forest looking for his da. It's getting dark, but he finds a clearing that would be a nice place to spend the night. The plants show him the entrance to an abandoned underground shelter. He goes in, but is spotted by Scare, who gets curious and knocks on the door. She introduces herself, yadda yadda.
Then they hear a noise outside (Haruko) and go out to see what it is. They see Haruko and have a short conversation, but then Nychus shows up. Cue whole scene where they meet Nychus.
Haruko is curious and hangs around, the others all go inside and sleep. In the morning, someone makes some food that attracts Sybil. Cue the scene where they go outside and meet Sybs. Then, a demon/monster attacks.
Sooo... if Haruko were the lead character, what would the plotses be? And it's fine with me if you want to play another character, Scare!

Still leaves "why did the demon attack." Could be the beginning of a plot.
I still think the communal rp thing could work for this, but I'm afraid we'll have to limit the number of characters. For example, everyone can control one 'main character' and if they want someone else to show up, they have to be side characters and only temporary additions. One person could be in charge of keeping the main plot on track (Shippo if Haruko is the leader character), but the rest of us could add in our own touches as we go. How's it sound?

Sounds good! I can whip up a main plot really quickly ^__^ Yeah. I wouldn't throw in any other characters, except for the main antagonist. Unless someone else wants to play that. I'm thinking it might be either the Puppet lord (from DiT, he's not in it yet) or Üfy the demon king (also DiT). Whaddyou think?

I like the idea of there being a main plot line and that the rest of us add a creative tidbit every now and than. Not so much a communal RP, a little more structured than that....perhaps a Flex RP of sorts. And I agree we probably want to be limited on the numbers, just not as big as the free RP. I also like your basic outline daybreak, works well. Well Shippo I don't know who these characters from DiT are and what they are about. But if they work well for the RP then I see no problem with them. Now why would a Demon attack in a random place at a random time? Prophesey typicaly works. Maybe someone is destined to do some major damage to a demonic attempt to do something. Oh...and I do know about that reply button....I've just had bad experiences with on site spell checks in the past. I'll play with it and see what I think.

Agreed, Shippo! If you've got a good bad guy, feel free to use him. See, I have problems with antagonists. In my head, they either end up switching sides, becoming a 'shades of grey' character instead of someone really evil, or getting killed because they do something stupid. So I have to lock up my antagonists if I want to keep them pure. ^^;
Prophecies are always good! They could be going after a specific character in the party who isn't Haruko, just to spread out the spotlight a bit...

Post by Daggertooth on Apr 23, 2006 19:36:27 GMT -5
I suppose the Prophesy could be group specific. And that the demon's job was actualy to wait there for years untill he thought we were all together. I just thought maybe it would be easier for one person to have the prophesy and the rest know its importance and try to help out. Perhaps a bit to cliche?

Or the prophecy could have been entirely misunderstood and the wrong person gets pegged as the target. For example, it could be Nychus, but they don't realize that Nychus turned himself into a fox, so they assume someone else is who the prophecy meant.
Oh, and I think it's fine to stick Ashton with it. With Wolf's permission, of course. Sybs is just over-protective.

Ah yes....the misinterpreted prophesy.......Thats like half of them right? And you can never get rid of them no matter how hard you try. Oedipus and all that Jazz.
I think the Prophesy would work well for the random demon attack. Now to think of exactly what kind of prophesy....
Nychus: What?! No, I don't want any part of continuously fighting random demons. What am I going to do, bite their ankles constantly? grrrrr..... Me: Pfft, not like you would be good in any other scenario... Nychus: What? Me: Nothing. :halo:
