WARNING: Contains spoilers for my comic.
Name: Koumori Species: (She doesn't know it, she thinks she's some sort of demon anomally) Side effect. She should never have existed.
Appearance: Pale skin, with strangely angular features, slightly pointed nose, and large eyes. The left is dark red, the other a deep, clear blue. Both are pupilless. She has blackish blue markings on her face that look like thick tear tracts. She has often been accused of wearing too much black eyeliner, but she has never worn makeup in her life. Doesn't believe in it. She has a thin, almost lipless mouth, usually holding a faint curve, although, unlike Viktor's, which is one of empty humor, her holds mere distain. She is might have been beautifull once, before her discovery of dark magic, but the years of study, fatigue from staying up all night studying her blackbound books, and lack of sun have contributed to give her the seeming of one who has all but faded into her craft, which is contrasted by the fact that she has a mass of unkempt yellowish blonde hair that tends to cover her face, and a pair of pointed, greyfurred, batlike ears that twitch, making her seem agitated, although the rest of her utterly denies such inner turmoil.
Personnality: She has an odd sense of humr, givven to plays on words, although most of them only make sense if you know her well. She is not so much violent as... Somewhat sadistic, but only in emotional terms. She enjoys frightening the life out of people to see the looks on their pale little faces. She is, under all this, a rather bitter person, and although, deep down, she would like to have friends, her disagreeable attitude, and odd habits prevent her from really connecting anyone. She detests children, and they tend to either hate her, or follow her around, clinging to the hem of her skirt, and asking her what she was talking about when she claimed that the planet was a ticking time bomb, designed to go off at the last moment, and the process is merely speeded up by our polluting and wastefull tendancies. She rarely smiles, and when she does, usually something terrible happens.
Equipment:
Koumori seldom goes anywhere without her self written book of spells, which also serves as a sketch book, and note book. It is black bound, but of course, with a lovely ward that curiously resembles a stop sign on it's back. That and an ink pen, and a whole ton of ink. Often has a good novel with her as well, as she often manages to find instances where she can relax and read. Carries two long knives, which she has named (you have to ask her.), and a pouch containing basic spell components, just enough that she doesn't have to go looking for blindworm's sting when it comes to soup.
Clothing: She wears a fitted, buttoned up dark blue shirt, (made of giant spider silk, which is both strong and flexible, as well as highly breathable, and light) a midlength, generic black skirt with tattered ends. On her arms are bracers, "to fortify these blasted mage's wrists", and the left has a small insignia resembling the black widow hourglass on her wrist. When asked about it, she looks away, and simply says that she likes spiders, if you are her friend. If you don't know her at all, she'll inquire as to whether that really is any of your buisness, and if you'd like to examine it closer, as per say written across your face. Over all this, she wears a fitted black roat, which means it resembles both traditional mage robes, and a long, black cloak at the same time. It is pinned shut with a large, blood red brooch that glows when she casts spells. The cloak has a mind of it's own, and seems to connect to a small 'pocket dimension', where Koumori stores her supplies. It tends to reach out and grabs people who look at Koumori funny. Whether this is Koumori's idea of a joke, or the Cloak's idea of protecting Koumori, is unknown, and likely it would be best to not speculate on it.
History: As a child, Koumori grew up in the town Whiteshade, in an orphanage... Although she spent most of her free time either in the library, or exploring the filthy streets. Eventually, she happened apon Viktor, at age nine, and the two became best friends... Untill it became apparent that she had magical and intellectual gifts, and was shipped off to an academy of magic, where she was to learn the healing arts, or perhaps an element of choice... Unfortunately, she did not do very well, as any healing spell she cast was tainted by dark magic, no matter how hard she tried. As such, she became even more introverted than before, making no friends, and devoting all of her time to her books and studies... Untill one day, she heard tell of a small group of mages who didn't need healing magic. They could bring people back from the dead. They used their spells for more than just... Healing. They could summon armies of the dead, travel the forests during the night, unafraid of the terrifying creatures that surrounded them... They didn't have to live in the whitewashed walls of these poor excuses for schools!
And so, she devoted all of her attention on what had allways seemed to be her special nook of talent. Dark magic. Now, when ever people made fun of her strange, disfigured ears, odd physique, or strange facial markings... They tended to fall down the stairs. Or suffer a harsh electric shock. Or have half their scalp singed off... While they slept. People started to get suspicious... Not that she cared. She neglected all her other studies, trying out new theories and formulas, staying up untill all hours. People became even more suspicious when reports of small explosions came from her room in the middle of the night. Often accompanied by burst of what could be described as maniacal laughter.
As such, Koumori was tried for the practise of dark magic, and exiled from the academy, all her books and supplies burned and buried in holy ground, that the energies might not escape. At age thirteen... She dissapeared. Faded into the backdrop of the world. She spent four years as a shade, a nobody. Hiding in dark corners, gathering all the information she could, learning of riddles, of the insanity that plagued many of the dark mages before her, of fear, and how to manipulate people through it.
At seventeen, she came back into the world, now with a deep distrust of all things, living, and all those in between... And especially of healers.
Things she doesn't know:
Koumori was not born, so much as fabricated. By accident. In this way, she is somewhat a golem, although she is pureply organic. She exudes a faint aura of cold when tired... Which becomes much stronger when she has been knocked out. This is because her essential energies have a mind of their own, and the fact that the the large, dark red brooch she wears is a symbiotic, primitive life form that feeds and the auras of other creatures. She knows that it is 'alive' in a sense, but not the full amount of what it can do.
Well... Here she is! The main character of my comic... Altered slightly to fit the setting, but Koumori none the less.

Post by Rehiro on Feb 7, 2006 22:54:00 GMT -5
Name: Rehiro
Gender: Male
Race: Demonic
Age: 90
History: Rehiro comes from a land of demons. A barbaric and feudalistic land with an odd mish-mesh of clan-oriented people. In this place, there are no recognizable races because of so much mixed breeding, so everyone is just thought of as a general demon.
Rehiro's mother died giving birth to him and he never knew his father. He was taken in by the community and pitied and neglected and abused as well. He was nothing but a peasent for all the beginning of his life but he soon proved himself to be stronger then any other. Using brute strength and a surprisingly sharp intellect he eventually managed to acheive the impossible and become leader of the clan.
He created a more advanced level of government and became exceedingly well thought of by all as he managed to lead his people to victory time and time again and as he converted many so that his clan became more and more powerfull.
Eventually, a hundreds of years old demon by the name of Daxelore returned from the forbidden lands of humans and challenged Rehiro to a battle for the title of leader.
Rehiro had no choice but to accept as he knew that he would be killed by his own people if he refused such a challenge and Daxelore would continue to challenge the second most powerfull demon for the title.
Rehiro was the most powerfull in his clan and undefeated. He had been born with incredible demonic powers and he stood up to Daxelore unafraid.
But Daxelore had been training with foreign tactics in the forbidden land and somehow managed to channel his demonic powers and immobolize Rehiro.
Instead of killing him, Daxelore put the Mark of Shame upon Rehiro's face and had him banished from the clan. The others would not accept a demon who had the Mark of Shame, and Rehiro knew that none others would either.
So Rehiro travelled into the forbidden land in hope of finding knowledge and training so that he could become powerfull like Daxelore had.
Appearance: Rehiro looks like a fairly tall, muscular human male, but he has claws and glowing yellow eyes. He also has fangs and pointed ears but they are not seen because of the rag he wears on his head. He wears a rag over his face and head to hide the Mark of Shame.
He wears animal skins and carries a variety of knives, a sword and a giant mace with him.
Powers: He has generally enhanced senses and physical powers. He can also channel fire.
Personality: In his demonic land, he was the most fair and just person around. Enlightened for a barbarian demon. But he was still basically a selfish demon with barbaric tendencies and principles. His time in the forbidden land has opened his eyes to a whole new reality. He has trouble thinking of himself as the bad guy now, so he always feels it is necessary to justify his actions even if he is in the wrong. He is incredibly shamed by his lack of skill and now wishes to learn and gain higher power, but he no longer craves to go back to his homeland.
He is inquisitive and eagre to learn, with an open mind to new ideas. His shame bears down on him constantly.
OOC: Um... not much here relates to my actual life. Maybe I should think of a new name. What do you people think?
Shippo: Feel free to modify it. Im just stabbing in the dark.

Heeerrreeee's Dorph! Modified, of course, and I've added some more to his history and stuffs, because I've it out since I made him ^^;
Name: Endorphin, Dorphin, Dorph, Dorphie (warning: do not refer to him as those last two unless you are a) suicidal, b) immortal, or c) veeeeery special to him for some reason)
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, appears to be in late boyhood
Race: Devourer demon/?
History: The Devourer demons are a rare, barbaric race that reside far away from civilization, appearing in both demon and human lore. They are intelligent enough to be considered sentient as the have a crude culture, but only barely. As their name indicates, they are of a gluttonous alignment and tend to destroy much of the life around them. Thus they are nomads and greatly feared and hated among other sentient beings. So much so that they are ruthlessly hunted by many species, and are considered to be pure evil. In truth, they are the 'garbage disposals' of their territories, keeping all the fauna, flora, and minerals in balance. This system has been damaged by so many other mortals corrupting the environment, and the Devourers have become quite endangered, reclusive, and aggressive to outsiders.
Endorphin became aware of this only after he consumed something he shouldn't have. What he ate was a magical stone that sealed a powerful sorcerer. Some demons sealed him because they were jealous and wanted him out of the way. When the sorcerer found himself freed, he tried to convince the monster that ate him to give him control. This didn't work so well, seeing as how Devourers don't understand the human tongue.
This continued for a whole night, causing poor Dorph much agony, and the sorcerer's spirit was fused permenently with the Devourer. This is where they wake up as Endorphin, the single entity. Dorphin doesn't understand all this, nor does he have the memories of the sorcerer. This is because a part of the sorcerer's mind sealed itself off. It isn't very powerful, but it holds a wealth of knowledge. It also creates a mildly split personality
He found himself changed, felt intelligence flood him mind and overtake his dominant Devourer instincts. The young demon discovered that he now was in possesion of a humanoid form, albeit a strange one, and had the mind of far higher life than he. His clan no longer recognized his scent, and he was exiled into the often cruel world outside his territory.
Appearance: Dorphin has two forms, one his original Devourer self and the other the stange humanoid.
Devourer: Like the rest of his kind, he is a bear-sized, four-legged demon. He has inky, hairless flesh, mottled with pink on his powerful limbs. His most prominant feature is his mouth, which can open impossibley wide and is filled with teeth and a strangling tongue. His top lip is pulled into an ugly, sensitive nose. Set far back in his skull are sockets where there were once eyes, torn out in the coming-of-age ceremony practiced by his kind.
Human: Tall and solidly built, with lean muscle. This form is surprisingly beautiful, in human standards, and his almost androgenous face is framed by straight black hair. He hides his empty eye sockets behind sunglasses in this form. A large-brimmed hat sits low on his forehead. It may once have been pointed, but it is old and the top has been torn clear off. His clothes are all in grey and silver and are nothing spectacular, just what a traveller might wear. The skin on his hands and feet is odd in the sense that it has what looks like birthmarks in the same mottled pattern his Devourer form had. This form also seems to give of a black "halo" to those who can sense magic.
Personality: Sly and sharp-tongued with the attitude of a gangbanger. Dorphin is prone to violent streaks and does not befriend easily. If he travels with someone, it is usually only to further his own needs. For those who do manage to break through his tough exterior, he can be sweet in his own gruff manner.
Abilities: Can "see" by smell (his species rely more on their nose than on their eyes, so he cannot be called blind). His sense of smell in his Devourer form is strong enough to track another being from several miles away. He can eat anything without ill effect (except, apparently, the mysterious thing he ate that gave him his human self). His human form has some magical ability centered around the black power that can eat away at its victims. He can change forms at will.
Flaws: Untrusting of others and mostly antisocial. He is also violent and will attack cumpulsively, even if he cares about the target. He requires a lot of food (even in human form) and, although his mind is unreadable, he is especially weak to attacks on his mind (illusions or psychicly planted suggestions, etc.). Another weakness is also his strength - his sense of smell. Inhalents (chemicals or drugs) severely affect him, even if they are as innocent as smelling salts. This is often how his species are hunted by other demons who don't want to be eaten, so he goes into a bit of a frenzy if he thinks someone may be trying to drug him.
Note: In this world, he's never met Verve (she was the first person to loosen him up and stop him from eating everything in sight). As a result, he's become rather bitter and has never formed a strong bond with another creature. He also firmly believes that all non-Devourers want to destroy his kind, and has fun playing with them before tricking them into their doom.

My character from Free Roleplay, but with full history and description. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Chantre (SHAN-tree)
Nicknames: Shan, Shen, Tree
Age: Unknown; looks to be teenaged
Race: Changeling
Family: Unknown mother in Fae Land, original adopted family in some village, wizard who committed suicide
Personality: Clownish, spontaneous. Has the curiosity of a child in wanting to know what people are talking about, particularly when they start laughing and she wants to know what’s funny. Most of the time, she talks like a child with an unnaturally large vocabulary. If strangers or people who are uncomfortable about her are around, she is very quiet, shy, and blushes very easily. However, if there’s at least one person whom she can relate to, she is hyper and cheerful, only quiet when someone who looks important talks to her.
Appearance: Usually wears a brightly colored silk shirt with a large, swirling gypsy-like skirt, but sometimes wears a plain t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of shoes. She always wears a very bright pink beret that’s cocked unevenly on her mess of silky dark pink hair. Her skin is a darkish brown, with black eyes that hide the pupil. If you watch FMA, she looks a little like Roze, but much more cheerful and childish.
Abilities: Uses dimensional portals, can always get outdoors if she tries, can transform into various elements; ex) A pillar of fire, a slightly solid gust of wind, a puddle of water, a rock goblin with her resemblance, etc.
Weaknesses Hyperventilates when frightened, has asthma, is emotionally crippled-cries very easily. Is frightened of the Fae, because they abandoned her.
History: A wizard once found a baby at his doorstep, with a note from some parents who weren’t able to keep their baby because it ate them out of house and home. It would constantly sneak outside, no matter the security, and the parents were terrified that they would be arrested for killing their baby by letting it outside. So he took the babe in, and named her Chantre after a woman he once knew fondly. She grew up being scolded by the wizard for sneaking out of bed to go outside at night, and for rewards he taught her tricks to go places unnoticed. She grew delighted with these newfound abilities, and caused the neighbors no end of trouble. Fortunately, the wizard was always able to defend her cause, but when they got into court together because she was using her abilities to steal fruit from a very important council member, he let her go with the words, “I have taught you well; perhaps too well. You have been the cause of many a migraine for me. Please, if you value your life, don’t come to my funeral.” When Rosa questioned her life-long mentor why, he merely set her aflame and cast her away to a different dimension. Unfortunately, this caused her to learn how to create inter-dimensional portals, and came right back. After a week of this, the old wizard committed suicide, and Rosa decided to find someplace where people had her kind of sense of humor. She still hasn’t found one yet.

The Forbidden Lands are just anywhere civilized. I forgot to mention that my character is also really hard to kill. He's basically just the ideal demon. Most of the demon's born where he lived are deformed or diseased but he's not.
Naming him after my username might noit have been the wisest choice. He's the kind of person I would normally give the name to, but you guys might relate me as a person with the character too much.

Shippo said I could be in the roleplay. Here is the character who has been hovering in my head for a while now. Hope you like her! (disclaimer: The following is in her voice, except for what is in parenthesis):
Name: My name is none of your concern, but you may call me Frost.
Gender: Female
Race: *disdainful stare* Human
Age: 23 years old
Official Title: I am an "Enchantress of Ice"
Abilities: Water/Ice magic
Diety: Saati, Goddess of water
Appearence: I have shoulder length white hair, emerald green eyes, extremely pale skin, and I am 5'5. I wear a white cloak with a hood I keep down and over-sized sleeves that cover my hands, and silver slipper-shoes. (She would be very pretty if she smiled more. Her coat is covered in pockets in which she keeps her books that she reads in her spare time.)
Personality: Distant. (*sigh* she acts distant, but she actually wants to be friends. she likes animals and reading, but this softer side only comes out when she is with a person she trusts completely and when she is alone. She may have forgotten her real name, but i doubt it. She never forgets...)
History: *cold glare* My history is none of your buisness. (*sigh* She was born in a northern village where her hair and eyes immediatly marked her as magical. She was exiled at the age of ten, when she froze the town well in response to a prank played on her by the village children. While wondering through the forest, she was found by a young ice witch while she was her way to Cloud Tower. Recognizing the child's potential, the young novice took the child with her to the Tower, where she immediatly gained the name frost afer she refused to say anything about her past or who she was. Frost quickly proved to be than expected and, for lack of a better term, went to the top of her "class." She "graduated" and earned the title "Enchantress of Ice", a rare honor that is only bestowed on a handful of "graduates" every ten years. she has just been wondering ever since, helping others when she can. ^_^)
Magical Items: *rubs wrist* None. ( Frost has two iron braclets that where put on her at the age of three. When she uses her magic, they burn. Cloud Tower was unable to remove them, and Frost has learned to work through the pain. They also have the effect of weakening her magic.)
------
Well, here she is. What do you think?

Name: Nezumi Akira! (Akira being her surname, so technically it's Akira nezumi >_+)
Gender: Most definately female.
Species: Human
Age: 16
Abilities: Can open any lock with her key, or her lockpicks. Can perform basic healing magic (that means, "oh you got a cut on your knee? I can fix that! oh umm... atleast the blood stopped, right? thats a weird looking scab..." and so on and so forth), and prides herself on a strictly average Fire spell--level one, which often backfires. She is very persuasive... Almost as if there was some magical power behind those clear blue eyes...
Weaknesses: Very weak in physical combat, or magical combat. Very physically weak. Not much endurance (Ex. "Ohh, I can't climb this mountain! Will someone give me a piggy-back ride?"). Gets attached to things. A mild Kleptomaniac. Steals whatever she likes, which often gets her into trouble. Naive in the thought prosesses (sp?) of men.
Appearance: A cute looking girl with black hair that reaches to the middle of her back, she has big, clear, blue eyes that can convince you to do just about anything. She is pretty short, about 5'2", but she can seem to be bigger than she really is when she is angry, or turns on the intimidation factor. She has petite lips that always curve up at the edges. Her smile gets a lot bigger when she hears word of loot.
Personality: Egomaniac. Thinks she's the greatest thing since the earth was created. She expects every man who comes in contact with her to love her, and for everyone to idolize her. She is not the type to stutter, or get nervous, she just does what she thinks is right. She doesn't follow orders, unless the other has proved her/himself greater, or if it is a plan to save her life/her friend's life, her loot. She is very protective of her friends, of which she has few, but she has 'em all right. She gets extremely attatched to things she likes (could be a person, or a particular piece of loot) and she is always very friendly, wanting to make as many friends as possible. She loves money, but if it comes down to money or a good friend's life, she'll always choose the friend. Very loyal, mostly to herself. A natural leader. Doesn't think she has any flaws, but she has flaws, believe me.
Equipment: She has a magical key that can open any lock, and a set of lockpicks. Why does she need lockpicks, you may be wondering. She uses them to fight, favoring the longest one for up close stabbyness. They don't really do much damage, though. (Which is why she needs bodyguards)
Clothing: She wears a dark blue--almost black shirt that shows her midriff, and capris of the same color. Actually, her pants were once full length, but she likes to roll them up so she doesn't trip, or get them we while wading. She wears a scarf of a slightly lighter blue, and a same colored bandana on her head. The scarf is very large-- at it's full length it reaches to her ankles. It is often blowing in the wind. Her shoes are pale-blue socks, and she has fingerless (think Ash Ketchum's gloves) pale-blue gloves that extend up her arm to the elbow.
History: She was born to two normal human parents. Her mother was a white mage, and a very esteemed one, too. Her father was a professor at a prestigious school of magic, teaching rudimentary skills-- Sort of a ... Remedial class >_<;;. Anyhow, the parents had had one child before Nezumi, who was a genius mage. His name was Kisai... Kisai Akira. A very talented mage who later turned to necromancy. Bio on him later. So, when Nezumi-chan was born, they expected her to be a great mage as well! But, to their horror, she did not have the slightest bit of magical talent, not even a shred of Kisai's skill! So, the parents focused all their energies on teaching Kisai, and Nezumi was neglected. But, being a likable and friendly girl, she made friends with a number of the servants, and all of the people in the house loved her... But not as much as they did Master Kisai! Only a few of the servant boys liked Nezumi best. She took to making mischief to get attention from the other members of the house, and from her parents. She stole from the kitchen, and even from her parents' room! She had a remarkable talent with sleight of hand, and could get out of any trouble by batting her enormous blue eyes and wiggling her lower lip. When she became thirteen, she left the house, no longer able to get away with tricks, bored with life there, and after a particularly horrifying experience with one of her male friends, just barely saved by another who happened to be about. (You'll need to ask her to get more details on this experience) She did amazingly well in the world, traveling about, stealing, and one day, managing to secure a magical key, which could open any lock. This key is her most prized possession. Later, when she was about 16, she heard of a magical item hidden deep in Mount Fukashigi. She knew she couldn't make it alone (not that she'd admit it!), so she put out an ad for some bodyguards to help her. And so the roleplay begins...

*cough* Not to be rude, but didn't Shippo close up new characters for her RP? Vlad sounds interesting, but he should probably go on one of the 'post your character' threads that isn't rp-specific...
