I just thougth it wold be intresting to talk about roleplay in general, maybe about your favorite roleplaying characters that maybe hasnt appereard here or maybe some Rpg games that you have played home. I count myself as a RPG veteran since ive played soon 4 years now, Then ive tested both LARP and ordinairy RPG.
Roleplaying is quite a big thing in my life since i enjoy it so much, Much of my rpg ideas will problebly end up in the comic im plannig to do ( with ofcousre some sligth changes )
If you got any questions or want some advice I will try to help out ^^
Things that you can start discussing about -
How much of your character is a part of you? what where your first RP? Any particular dream character you would want to play?

Heh, interesting that you should mention it...
My first roleplays were completely verbal. I'm serious, my sister and I had this set-up that started when we were little. One of us was the GM, the other the "player." This started when we were really young (before third grade for me, and she's only three years older. Can't be any more specific, my memory's not that good.) At first, it was kinda like an old text-based video game. We didn't play characters, we just said "open the door" or "use the magic feather." No other people in the roleplay, just puzzle solving.
But it evolved. I lost track of how many characters I'd gone through. Roleplays upon roleplays... all conducted verbally with only two people! Weird, huh? We did fan-roleplays involving Gundam Wing or Slayers characters and everything.
We don't get around to it much any more, but once and a while we'll do an IM RP. I think this forum is where I've first started to roleplay in large groups.
And that's my story!

I've gone through several, mostly in AIM. My first ones were with my friend Loopy. We built our friendship based on these RPs. And we have one still going to this day; it's almost 200 pages. You would not believe the depth of the story and characters in this RP. We both think it'd make a terrific anime. Maybe I'LL start an art thread, and put in some pics of the characters. I mostly do dialogue-type RPs, not the story-type RPs like I see here. I also do a lot of fun RPs with fellow forum-member Lysinias. =)

Wow, 200 pages? I bow to your superiority. My sister has... a bit of a shorter attention span than I do, which means that I usually get stuck with a load of half-finished RPs. It makes me sad.

Bow to my friend Loopy. She made up all the original story and characters long before she met me... I just added characters that worked well with them. We're starting on our 17th story arc right now.
Informal Poll: Who wants me to make a thread for, by, and about my characters?

Go for it! Lord knows I'd brag about my character, too, if I thought anyone cared enough about them. Yours sound interesting, and I'd like to know more ^^

If you like, you can join my RPs on gaia. Its my biggest roleplay resource, i even have a slayers rp guild wich is just lying around XP
Now i will problebly sound so darn picky... smite me if you must but i made this thread so we could post such information o.o about characters etc.
btw, anyone want me to send some of my characters? I mean, the art i made. I always make some nice drawing on the back of my roleplaying paper ( Ill problebly send it in the art thread since it seems it should be posted there i think )

^-^ 200 pages of story about 8,000+ years of history is too much to not have its own thread, I think... I'd clutter up the board and you guys wouldn't get to post your own stuff. Besides, I've never gone too as public as this with my info, and it might be nice to keep it all together... So that's why my Vampy Files thread exists.

As you see, it was intended for THIS thread to have more room for other peoples' stuff, not to hog glory for myself. =3 Or so I claim.
I still have several other RPs I could post about here, though... I think.

Hm, well, most of my RP characters are a bit... strange to blab about. Besides, most are in stasis or the graveyard *sigh*. That's what happens when I neglect my RPing for a few years.
But if I do post my characters, I suppose I should start with Dylan (pronounced Dye-lan). He is my oldest boy.
Dylan Angle is a boy of middling height, aged from mid-teens to mid-twenties (depending on my mood). Well built, plae skin, coal-black hair and eyes. He is a Dark Angel (a species that is not related to the religious symbol, but rather a misnomer for a race of humanoids that evolved wings. They are seperated into three breeds: the diurnal Light Angels, the crepuscular Russet Angels, and the nocturnal Dark Angels). Dylan's wings are modeled after owl wings, only solid black.
Dark Angels are usually noted for their anti-social tendencies, but Dylan is a very sweet and outgoing boy. However, over the years he has remained in my mind, he has become hardened and competant in the art of war. His weapon of choice remains a double headed battle-ax that seems to large for him to lift, yet he manages this and can even fly while weilding it.
I would go into his past, history, etc. but it is long, involved, and requires a full explaination of the evolution of my own avatar so... I'm gonna leave that out, k?
I've played Dy a few times before in RPs, but he really acts as more of a gaurdian for me. When I was younger, he was always there. I just had to put pencil to paper or fingers to keys... *sigh* Ah, good times. He's not around so much anymore, but I can always seem to call him back into my mind whenever I want. Which is good, sometimes a character I'm attached to just... vanishes. I can never get them back the way I want them.

That reminds me of a NPC ive done once, called Ikar's ( Ikarer in swedish) i got the inspiration from a book that i read once.
They come from a pool wich Lillith the manslayer had hidden some where in the world, they kidnapped infant boys wich would be brougth up and changed into this creature. They look somewhat like vampires but they start of like a human being with big thick brown wings, somewhat like a eagles. and they often have long hair, and most importantly a necklace with 14 small bottles wich they preserve 14 souls of .. uh.. Jungfru.. maidens! ( i think ) when they got all those 14 souls they return to the Pool and sacrifice the 14 souls to Lillith and then they somewhat evolve ( pokemon! sorry... ) into a much more powerfull being. when they have done that they gain 2 extra wings and they turn black, if they where blond or so in the past their hair also turns black. they get more of a blood thirst and gain tremendously big amount of power to controll other 'humans' emotions. they often makes the pray fall in love, not ordinairy love but somewhat a crazed love ( wich only can be stopped by a very powerfull will ). otherwise they are like vampires, but much more sared of the sun ( or ligth, ex from a bulb)
I forgot to mention when they are in the younger state ( brown wings etc ) Their voice is a terrible weapon, it can splitt glass into thousands chards and make a humans ears bleed. Its their greatest power, while 'Charm' is the adult stages skill. The voice thing will disappear though when they go too the other stage.-
Well, This is probebly a creature I only will use in medieval so i can give you relief that you would problebly never meet on in Lillium ^^'
First time i ever used a Ikar was in a vampire the masqurade rpg, I had somewhat a group of powerplayers and my response to that was creating these beats

Sounds like those powerplayers got their due. Great creation! Dy doesn't have any special powers for the most part, he just has pretty wings. Oh, but he can learn magic in the same way a human can, I guess.
Wonder what he'd do if he was mistaken for an Ikar? Poor boy ^^

Koumori was my first ever roleplay character, and was mainly a manifestation of all my sarcasm and 'evil'. She even anded up looking a lot like me, because I didn't want to godmode and make her all perfect and all powerfull, and she was my alter ego for at least two and a half years.
She now stars as the main character in my comic! ^^

Mmmmmm... all this has got me thinking about all my old RP characters *starry-eyed sigh*. Makes me want to GM an on-line RP. Unfortunately I have a problem (besides being completely inexperienced) with villians. I don't usually create many, and when I do they go and do something stupid (Like mess with Robin's children) and get themselves killed.
It's really very annoying.

I think it would be hillarius if that happened ^^' mostly of the vampiric sociaty that have seen one absolutely hates them.
Alter ego? I believe that almost every rp character has some sides from the player, I just love rps <3
I think my first character was Carmen Saietz, shortly a bitch. That she didnt get by her apperance she used force too take what she wanted and needed. The roleplay was named Neotech 2, Gosh it was soo funny! I even took controll over Mexico once XD ( long story )

Taking over Mexico? That must be some tale!
Hm, you might be interested in my Slayers RP character. Understand that I am positively obsessed with demons (I have no idea why). My favorite from Slayers? Deep Sea Dolphin. Yes, even though she never shows up and is barely even mentioned -_-;
So Dancer is one of Deep Sea's minions. She used to be human, but she stowed away on a boat that was crossing the Sea of Chaos. It got sunk, Dolph picked up the girl and changed her into a demon on a whim, same old story.
She's one of the highest-ranking demons under Dolph's command, and her first mission was to keep an eye on the Beastmaster's head priest and general.
Yes, that's right. Xelloss. Since to two girls of the demon lords are rivals, he got an assignment to keep an eye on Dancer. Sooo.... they ended up travelling around together, causing havok and getting on eachother's nerves. Until a demon hunter caught up to them and severly wounded Dancer. Xelloss returned her to the Sea of Chaos, and never saw her again.
At least until preset day (the time frame Slayers takes place in, I mean), when she is once again sent up onto land to survey the humans for her mistress.

RP or RPG? =3 Kidding.
I like the one I use on AIM with Loopy and Lysie and several other people. It's much simpler. Like this:
Character 1: Says something. *performs action* Character 2: *description of voice* Says something in response. *brief description of scene or character* Character 1: LOUD OFFENSIVE STATEMENT!

Hee... Most of my friend's are completely random. Picking on Mannaz is fun. So far, he's been run over by a sixteen wheeler, pelted by angry watermelons, turned into a girl, turned into a hyoo-man, turned into a vampire, glomped by the vampire who turned him, gone through Mpreg, set on fire, shoved off cliffs, nibbled to sawdust by dereanged mice... The list goes on. Koumori's usually there simply to make cynical remarks about the situation, usually accompanied by an attrocious pun, or a fireball. She often ends up making things explode, as well.
^^ I love rping those two together!

I guess I started Roleplaying when I was alot younger than I realize. I would hike out into the middle of nowhere with a friend or two and we would talk back and forth pretending to be on an adventure. We usualy even had sticks we pretended were swords. I can only guess the age being elementary age or early junior high. I no longer know the content of these RP's.
To this day I still go on long hikes by myself and just let my brain wander into any kind of fantasey setting. Actualy have a world roughly developed from that kind of thinking.
My earliest character I can think of is Deyja, a leohtian and main character in my mental story line, however he has never seen real play. A second character was Deyja's friend which was an anthropomorphic wolf....but he never had a name.
My first character that actualy saw early play was Nychus. This was back bout 5 years ago and in response to an RP based on D&D that rejected Deyja. Nychus was the typical ranger but his play didn't last too long. About two years later he was brought back to life in a paper roleplay which didn't get past level 2. Finaly he was recently pulled out again and this time had the mishap of turning into a fox. He's the only character I have that has gone through serious character development.
Thats almost everything actualy. As you can see my experience is rather limited in Roleplaying.

This is only my second try at RP. My favorite I guess is still my first format. We'd make characters, but we'd write a sequence of events, giving each other full control of each other's characters. A post was usually about a full page long. When you'd write a post, you had to write it from the point of view of your character, describing his/her thoughts. It was pretty nice, because the stories flowed more smoothly and there whas no arguing when a character lost in thefights, since we all shared the characters.

I like online rps, like this... It's an easier read, for me.
Random rps on msn are incredibly fun, though...

I have been roleplaying before I knew what it was. ^^ When we were little, my brother and I would create adventures where he was the fierce adventurer and I was always the mage. We climbed over everything and went through all sorts of storylines.
Since then, I've moved onto roleplaying through IMs, chatrooms,(though not so much anymore), and I've been the DM of some DnD sessions. I prefer tabletop, where people are face-to-face, because it has an added element that I'm not sure if I can put my finger on it. Anyway. I love RP. ^^;

I was A lot like Magick-san. When I was very young, I'd go on adventures, either by myself, or with anyone. I called them "pretend games."
Now, I do online roleplaying, but mostly I am involved in hmm... I'd say... Informal LARP? I don't dress up, but it's just one on one talking. Example:
Shippo: You walk into the room. Kasu is sitting on the low bed, reading a small black book. On the cover of the book, silver letters read "Tactics." The room is small, and there is a table with an oil lamp, and you can see many books, and paper, along with a large quill pen. Other person: I go over to Kasu, sitting next to him. I say, "... Are you okay?" Shippo: Kasu looks up, and smirks. "Yeah... I just really feel like I let you down today..." Other person: "Why are you saying that! You fought more bravely than the rest of us!" I look sincere.
And, while I'm doing this, I usually pretend to be the characters, and go through the motions.

I guess my main character that I've never used has been Daggertooth. I'm not sure why I gave him the name I use online, but I do know he was created a while after I made the name. I'm also not sure if he was before or after Deyja, though daggertooth has a more extensive story line.
Daggertooth was at first a Leohtian and probably the most powerful of his time. He was was killed in battle and was prepared as an avatar (Similar to animate dead except without the use of the soul. Lightning is used to manipulate preserved muscles in a way to provide a second fighter.) He was wraped in Dragon armor and prepared a very special way with a magical ward. He was later stollen by the enemy and they attepted to resurect Daggertooth for their forces using a new form of necromancy, They did not anticipate the problems they had and bairly pulled it off, but combined Daggertooth's soul, that of the dragon who's skin he wore, and the magical essence of the ward into one entity. It was still undead though very cognitive and a very powerful litch. It wrecked havoc but was defeated much later by a powerful life rune that bound his soul to the body in a way that made him no longer undead but had the side effect of making him immortal.
This is when things become vauge and encompase eons. As an imortal he is able to come back to enforce his rule and eventualy becomes ruler of his world and tried to take over the universe. He was defeated a few times, even inprissoned for an eon or two, but eventualy pulls it off. At first as supreme ruler he micromanaged every little thing, but after a while it became extremely tedius. He slowly gave the people more and more freedoms and eventualy ushered in a new age of peace. Think the movie "Groundhog Day."
Eventualy it was discovered that dimentional travel between a neighboring dimension had caused irrepairable tears and had started causing the two dimensions to merge to a disastorous affect. Daggertooth tried everything but could not stop the collapse.
His extremely long life, believing that being extremely ruthelss and benevolent has the same reletive effect and seeing the entire universe collapse has given him a growing nihilistic and apathetic aproach to everything that has started growing worse and worse with each passing eon.
Thats his story. Not very developed or exciting after his first major defeat as the undead litch. I usualy use him or refer to him any time in his timeline up untill he is finaly becomes immortal and defeated. He becomes rather boring afterwords. But like I said, thats all vauge and will probably change with farther development.
