I would second that name, but he's already named Herbie.

I move that the previous comment made by Shippo be stricken from the record.

Maybe if you look up the name of the Koolaid Guy voice actor and mix his first and last name...

I actually did try and find out the voice actor for the Kool Aid guy (by google) but all I got were refences to the Electric Kool Aid Acid Test. I know I thought it was a good book when I read it (oh so many years ago), but it doen't have much to do with Charby. Or Herbie.
Maybe Frost just thought that the picture of Herbie crashing through a wall saying "OH, YEEAAHHHH!" was worth it.

honestly, I wanted something a little more...i dunno, unique? Still accepting suggestions though! I just try to avoid names that are already associated with a popular character...and all I can think of is tha lovebug of course...

I still like floaty bear the best, I dont really see the need for anything more complicated. I suppose if any character had a long term association with him then I could see them wanting to have something to call him but otherwise, as long as things continue the way they are (which they probably wont) then I think that "floaty bear" should do just fine.
P.S. I moved that he not be named herbie, in case anyone didnt catch that...... it sure seems foolish to be protecting a name.

ah yes,if everything had gone right his name would remain floatybear, but as it is I already get enough accusations of ripping off Dirge and Vasquez and the like, and that would just give the accusers false vindication. If you weren't aware why, here is the reason: doesn't look like him but it is the same name, and I want to avoid any possible legal junk.

Bakarne; Basque- solitude Balavan; Hindu- powerful Cairbre; Celtic/Gaelic- Strong Man Gad; Native American- Juniper Tree Hadrian; Swedish- dark one Ignacio; Latin- one who is lively Jabari; African- brave, fearless Kaden; American- Fighter Mablevi; African- do not deceive Oberon; German- Bear Heart Oded; Hebrew- Strong Quennel; Old French- dweller by the oak tree Udell; English- Grove of trees Zádor; Hungarian- violent
No, really, I'm trying to help! (I went through the whole freaking alphabet!)
Gotta love Oberon! I almost suggested Kael, but then I thought K'ale and realized how stupid that would be. Also, Kaden sounds very farmiliar, is there already a Kaden somewhere?
Anyway, I can see how you wouldn't want legal stuff, but I'm with you, that bear looks nothing like the floaty bear, for one thing, his eyes are wide open. not to mention that he's brown and apparently has to be buttoned up.

Those all sound pretty awesome ;D but personally I think that a more simple name based off one of his attributes would be more apropriate..... but I might be completely off track as I am assuming his name would come from one of the characters who would have some reason for wanting to give him a name. I dont really think that floaty bear cares about having a name so I dont think that he would have given himself one, but I could be wrong as we dont really know much about him and he does appear to be smarter than the a-ver-age bear (sorry) and if he had collected a name in the past or it was Zerlocke who named him, then a more sophisticated sounding name might be in order.

shame that can't keep floaty bear. The name that has been going around my head while i've been reading this is that of the legendary founder of denmark, Roar (who is Hrothgar in Beowulf). i know, its kind of lame but its been stuck in my head so i thought i had to write it...

Actually, I kinda like Roar. But if Amy doesn't pick soon, I will never be able to change it from floaty bear in my head!
