I had no idea where to put the suggestion but here, and if there was a place to suggest I didn't catch it... I thought German would match "Floaty Bear" well so it's "Hovering Bear" in German:
schwebender Bär<br> Maybe Bär for short?

What're other suggestions said before? For some reason I remember you mentioning a poll, so yeah.

fluto ursa (float bear) pendeo ursa (hover bear)
I don't know about the grammer...I just checked a dictionary. I do like Bär though. Short and sweet.

As to the grammar, floating bear is ursa flutans, and hovering bear is ursa pendens. No idea how to say "floaty" in Latin though.
That was handy revision for the exam I have in a month or so. : )

I think he's been floaty bear for so long that he should just stay that way.
Or at least think of a name that isn't a direct translation from anouther language.
Like mix 'Moria' and 'Dolche' to make 'Moche' (kinda like "sweet death") wich kinda sounds like moocher wich is what he was doing in the park when we first met him.
Or a name that translates into somthing funny like "big head"
Maby 'Bärkopf' (Bear head) wich you could change to 'Barcof' or somthing.

Hmm I'm taking Spanish. I don't know "to hover" or anything but I know bear: oso. That's kinda lame for a big, demon, man-eating bear. Heh. I still like the German "Bär," bear sounds too cuddly. Floaty bear is just lame as a name, that's all.

It really is hard to find a fitting name for a character, especially one like "Floaty Bear." Maybe it would be best if it was just unnamed. I mean, it doesn't even speak correctly so... No one else in CTV would know it's name, unless they made one up themselves.

We all call it Floaty Bear now, it would be hard to change....

Well, people make up nicknames for charries outside of the story anyway. If it introduced itself it would probably just use those pictograms to say bear!

I think floaty bear is just good. everyone would just keep saying "oh, the floaty bear-- whats his name???"

He didn't eat Mye. Maybe he was planing to, but he would have at least taken her to a fancy restuarant and got to know her first. He is a gentleman after all.

Despite what Floaty Bear cares about, we need a name so we know who we're talking about. Of course I don't know very many floating bears so it's not a problem for me.
