I'm getting my avatars from another webcomic I read, called looking for group, they have an army of avatars in their extras section, just right click and hit properties for the URL. It's a cool comic too, check it out at lfgcomic.com/

a tip is that you host the image youreslf otherwise there could become that the images cant be uploaded correctly ( bandwidth story =)

You can download the image to your computer, create a profile on imageshack.us/, then upload it there to link it.

I've seen lotsa websites with photos that say image not found with photobucket on 'em

Photobucket is the best image host since they dont delete images and youcan upload movies aswell.
the images you have seen has problebly either been hosted on to many websites ( like i mentioned before with the avatar ) or the user who owns the picture has deleted it. there is no other way.

The image no found on photobucket is why I decided to use imageshack instead. I think it's from using too much bandwidth. But I only have a few images on imageshack anyway.
