Yup....I have it on my favorite list. Can't wait for it to get moving. Try to find the instruction manuel to your camera you won't need to wait for the scanner.

No problem. What was the make and model of your camera again? I used to know a forum that did alot with camera's. If I can figure out where the manual controls are I can tell you how to take pictures as good as any scanner. At least I'm pretty sure since your camera has pretty high pixels and stuff.

Hmmm......lets see if I can dig it up. *Searches BHphoto to see brands...recognizes one* ...... Konica Minolta ..... *google brand name. Found official site...search camera types untill I recognize one.* Ah, the DiMage s414 Now I need to search for the photo forum I used and see if I can figure out the manual controlls. Daggertooth

Took me a little, but I finaly got access to the forum. I asked about the S414 and got one reply. This is what he said:
Now heres how you want to take a picture of your drawings:
1) Set your picture somewhere flat and your camera directly infront of it and centered properly. I found setting or taping the picture to the wall and propping the camera on a chair or table or even a few books directly infront of it will work.
2) Make sure that whatever light hits the picture that it is even. No shadows or variations in light. Just moving things around should work decently.
3) Move the camera to its manual setting and simply mess with the shutter speed. This is a trial and error thing where you take a picture and look at it. If it is too dark then make the shutter speed slower. Keep doing that untill you get the color brightness you want.
Helpful tip: Use either a ten second timer or a remote trigger to lessen the hand shake affect.
