How does magic work in CTV? What sort of bonuses come from using magic amplifying devices such as Hexavier's skull pendant? Does age bequithe more power to a sorceror or do they gain their power in a pound for pound trade with sacrifices of some kind for increased power. Does greater knowledge allow you to channel greater levels of magic? How long does it take to become profficient in magic?

Maybe different magics work different ways. According to Kavonn there are at least 'Light' and 'Dark' types of magic. (Just my guess. I'd like to know too.)

I find it an interesting point to note that when Mye got her wand, Kavonn said that he hardly recognized her magic. Although this may simply be because of the strength of it, perhaps her innate magic and that of the wand are different in a fundamental way.

It was brought up in the comments of the most recent page (#888 Fowl Deeds) that Mye's magic is far worse without her wand, and yet she has centuries of experience and how Zerlocke, who is so much younger than Mye is able to turn his drawing pad into a lemon simply by reciting a spell? Why couldn't Mye get by on simply saying the spells out loud?
Quoting my own comment:
"If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say that magic is naturally a gift of certain beings, more so in beings that are innately magical. Vampires, for example, by default, have magical talents. A zombie, however, is a body that has had magic used on it, so as to reanimate it. This wouldn't make Mye an innately magical being, but when she and Hex absorbed the master and his powers, she gained certain abilities. The difference here, though, is that their powers are directly linked to and amplified by their respective talismans, thus when she lost her wand, she lost potency in her magic.
Now, as to how magic may be learned, as opposed to a natural gift, I am unsure of any definitely correct explanation, but if all that there was to some magic was an incantation, then shouldn't normal humans be able to do extremely powerful magic easily just through memorization? Perhaps words are merely a focus for an "internal" magic to be given a function? But how would somebody go from normal human to sorcerer? Where would their magic originate? How would one gain power? My mind is boggling!"
So, yeah. Could a human just pick up a book, read an incredibly long and complex incantation perfectly and, say, summon an apocalyptic demon hoard? Or would he need magic of his own? And if magic is needed to perform magic, how is it gained?

Myths are very broad and there are all types of magic in them. I am guessing that Master had bound the twins to their talismen meaning while they were more powerful with them, they were weaker without. Also, Mye hadn't been without her wand for very long (10 years at most if I remember right) meaning she did not have long to learn how to do magic without it as opposed to Zerlocke who's allways had to work from scratch.
