I have trouble writing sounds. I would've put 'ay' in my last post but I was afraid it'd but mistaken for something like 'Aye!'

Sounds ARE hard....
I pronounce alot of things wrong such as:
Hermione: Her-moine (rhymes with coin) Sesshoumaru: Sesh-ee-oh-moo (I pronounce it right now, but that old pronunciation is just weird XP) Sango: Sayng-oh (rhymes with tango) Sirius: Sirus (not a hard mistake!)
And lots more. 'nuff said.

You got sango pretty much right. I've heard worse.
Sango: sahn-go
I used to pronounce Hermione 'herm-ee-own'

I love the books, and I think the movies are pretty good.
The fourth one looks crappy though. I saw previews, and Moody looks awful, and the golden egg is not hollow! NOT hollow!

Reminds me of MY favourite part of the movies: pointing out every single little detail and inconsistency between them and the books. Which is easy, considering that I've read the first four 14 times each, the 5th one 8 times, and the 6th twice.

Ha, that is my favourite part of the movies myself taimutsu. My friend and I always point out the discrepencies. We also laugh at horror movies. Our habits require us to sit in the empty part of a theatre if possible, it keeps people frm getting pissed at us.

Unfortunately, I have to sit with my family, so I bother them a lot.

I'm with Taimatsu...we have to wait till they're out on video so we can complain all we want. Same with the Lord of the Rings movies. (Don't get me started on THAT.)

Did anyone notice the suspicious lack of the entire first chapter of the first book? 4th movie pictures: The golden egg, NOt hollow, and NOT underwater Mad Eye Moody, he doesn't even deserve to be called that...

I haven't seen the new one, but I read an article that listed all the things they changed or left out, and it sounded annoying.

The fourth one wasnt so good. On one level it filled you with magic and wonder, but on another you were still thinking "why am I watching this terrible movie?". I didnt picture Mad Eye Moody anything like they depicted him, and Dumbledore just seemed like some big angry guy. I was still all envious of Harry Potter though. Even if he dosent want glory and tragedy befalls him around every corner. I want his glory and magic powers!

Oh... general forum rules... and I just challenged Ryoko's authority. But I consider her command to be that of equal to equal, not as mod to citizen.

.... I will start the HP thread in General... we should probably have this thread back on the topic of pronunciations.
I don't remember the mosquito's names... But I do believe I had trouble pronouncing them... How?

Yes, those are the ones.... is there a specific way to pronounce them? Or is it the same pronunciation as the plagues they are named after?

Heh, my brother refuses to call Tony 'TONeeus', he calls him 'TonEYEus' no matter how many times I explain to him and show him Amelius's posts. And I am proud to say that the only name that I was mispronouncing was Sanguine; 'Sang-gyoo-EENE'
