Previously Amy stated that all the magical races and demons on Earth are from after Lucifer's war in heaven where the angel's who fell but weren't bad enough to go to hell merged with living creatures on earth forming new lifeforms.
Therefore Benito raises and interesting question did said fall happen over 65 million years ago and he is a descendant of Dinosaur Demons? Or is there another reason for his appearance?

Hmm, now that is something to think about... He is indeed a demon, but not related so much to the dinosaurs...I'm not exactly sure when the fall was, perse, this is where religion and evolution seem to try and cancel eachother out. I'm not gonna try and re-write history with this, but this fall (in the comic at least) happened after most of the dinosaurs were already extinct, and humans were a little more "human" Previously, there was no real "evil" or "good" just survival, and after the fall most of the fallen just adapted to what they either first met with or recalled from the earth. But notice, not all things came from the earth, since I also have made mention to alternate planes of existence, which is where Benito's sort came from (and there also may still be dinosaurs in other dimensions as well) I'm not the type to buy into the "7days and BAM! Humanity" theory, it is too literal of a translation. I do have beliefs in religion but I also stay open minded about it. I can see where my particular explanation of my character's origin and the history of the planet runs into a corner...

Thanks for the info. While I understand why you weren't very specific it does narrow it down considerably. The first hominids that are 100% confirmed to be so appeared about 2 million years ago while fossils whose nature is in dispute put our genus emerging about 8 million years ago. The first true Homo Sapiens appeared between 200,000 and 40,000 years ago. The large 160,000 year disputed zone is due to disagreements among the palentological community about the accurracy of certain dating techniques and the level of pristinity of some dig sites. Either way our species is rather young as the average total lifespan of a species is around 1 million to 4 million years. For example the first T-Rex fossils date to about 68 million years ago and the last ones around 66 million. (This unnessecary useless fact is brought to you because I like it)

Makes you think that we are probably only primitive versions of what we will become.

Makes you think that we are probably only primitive versions of what we will become. Nice idea, but it doesn't work like that. We're not getting better, just different. So yes we're 'primitive' in that we'll probably either be extinct or completely different in 65 million years, but not necessarily 'better'. Basically you have to be careful using words like that. There is no "finished product". Unless, of ofcorse, you take the fatalist doctrine of faith. Amy: According to the ancient texts(some of them anyway) 'God' made humans to replace the angels lost in the battle between the morning star and himself. And a "Demon" is something that makes order out of chaos (ie. God).

Soap: You said we were primitive in the way that we will be completely different or extinct eventually. If you believe this then why would you not think that that is what I meant?
Then you said that we would be different but not "better" and that I should be careful using words like that when I infact never used that word.
How do you know that we will be different but not "better" and how are you defining the word "better".

I sense sarcasm, perhaps? To add to the argument, I think we will have to get better, as in getting along with earth and evolving to the coming climate change. Either we do or we die. We are primitive in that we have hardly gotten started yet. That's the biology meaning, at least.
Spamotron: that's very interesting. Where'd you find the info? If you've found a site I'd like to check it out.

I hardly ever watch the discovery channel. Sometimes I catch cool shows on animals though, perhaps on Discovery who knows. I was watching something with my dad about these squids that could change color really fast. They could do it so fast it looked like they were blinking ( ) And the females could store sperm from a few males and then choose which one would fertilize her eggs. That's cool. It really annoys me when sites have you register before you can use it.

What I want to know is how none of the vampires knew about Elites until that one that killed Roderike's dad. Unless, of course, Elites are a VERY recent addition to demonic races, but that wouldn't make sense cause there's so many Elites currently.

It's because the elites were still rather rare. There's a bit more to the tale of Cyril the elite, and it has a bit to do with the time the incident actually occured. I really can't answer that without giving spoilers though ^_^
