What exactly are the different kinds of creatures again? I know there are humans, demons, and fay, and possibly monsters, but my problem is, how does one tell the difference? Because Monsters/Fay seem to have varied opinions on demons. Also creatures appearantly, as in Kavonn's case, don't need to be born a demon A.) to become a demon or B.) to wield supernatural abilities.
I'm pretty sure you answered a question like this before, but for the life of me i can't remember what you said. Sorry.

hey that's ok, I don't recall a question like this either... anyhow, along with demons (which I will say are those that look most monsterous) sprites (like Foomy) lycanthropes, vampires are in a different class as well. goblins, of course fae were mentioned, zombies, dragons and elfin sorts, and also different humanoid species. Those classified as "demon" aren't all necessarily from Hell, but rather more just beings that are either evil or have a darker side than other creatures and aren't really animals or humans. Blaine classifies almost all these as "demon" because first, it sounds evil (villifying the enemy more) and he doesn't want hunters hesitating to figure if a creature is evil or not. and the elves do find demons unnerving, even though they are given to do dark deeds themselves, and have a bit of discriminatory ferw of them. The "demon market" was originally the Forest People's market, but the name had changed due to demons being more frequent and horning in on business. but demons there seem to be of the intelligent and rational sort, there to make money rather than eat lesser creatures...

What was Kavonn before the hat? Did he always have supernatural control over his hair?

Kavonn was a normal human boy previously. Upon putting it on, the hat forced a few changes in him, changed both his physical appearance and gave him eternal youth. It gave him the staff, made from the hat itself, to protect the both of them. His hair-control, however, is not a result of the bonding with the hat but is rather a side effect of wearing a hat that is constantly giving off magic energy, much of which Kavonn's hair retained. He found out he could control it quite by accident.

indeed it would, and very slowly (unlike with Tony) he would lose a bit of his power, and may even weaken without the hat. Not enough to become feeble and revert to being a mortal, but just enough for a noticable difference.

What about elves? how can you define an elf from another forest person? If you compare Mikko to Saddick there is quite the difference so I would Just like to know the relation. I would also like to know what kind of special abbilities they might have as well, and what the CTV definition of an elf is (im not a big elf fan im just curius).

Differences between elves are pretty much divided into different species of elves, which is based on their way of life, location, and who the interact with in the area. Mikko is not a "true' elf but an elf-like parasite, and Sadick is mostly elf but also part something else (lets just say Mrs. Porter wasn't exactly faithful...) They have a small amount of natural magic abilities, such as projecting illusions and such, which they use mostly for pranks other than practical use. Telling elves apart from demons and other typse should be a bit easy, elves tend to be either more delicate or impish, there is an abundance of elf-types on this page in panels 8 and 11 (and 13 there is one far in the background) you can see they come in many sizes, and they don't have tails and with the exception of Fay, no wings. There is also a lot more mythology about elves that I've applied to them here too, but I can't recall enough of it at the time to explain it now...

Have we seen any goblins yet? and if not will there eventually be a situation regarding goblins? I just noticed that was one of the different kinds of demons and it made me curious, though having a species of demon not native to the area our heroes reside in might represent how well you knew this world.

so far no, but the alp is sometimes considered a goblin (as in the term of being a goblin is any small variety of either fae or demon that works in the area of tormenting humans but not killing them) and even one of the alp's names with a suffix means "hobgoblin" (while the other is "nightmare") I did list a few that are not in the area, and did forget a few (such as trow and water-dwelling fae, trolls, brownies. bwcas and others) the Each Usige that Q owns isn't even from around the area either. Some of the demons and fae in the comic have hitched rides from their original home or are just passing through. Kelwood is very popular with them for some reason (mostly because of the quiet location) Of course when I list those things, it is of what we have seen so far and may see sometime in the future. though we haven't seen any trolls yet there has been a mention (though it was a joke) and probably wont, they do exist in their world, as do a few other things. I'm always open for suggestions on what other beings to add in though!

indeed, some of them are (because a lot of myth where demons anf fae fear either Christianity or some other religion was mostly church propoganda anyway) Their religious beliefs are both similar and different from human's, depending on the type it happens to be. A lot of them have a polytheistic religions. A few that have monotheistic beliefs are either those who were raised around humans or were once human. most of the elites are on a somewhat religious standing (though this will be gone over later) Some of the demons do have a satanic religion, and there are even some cultists. For the most part, our main cast is either moderately religious to one belief or another or they just acknowledge a higher power but don't do much about it.

According to the encyclopedia mythica, The Phooka is a harmless Irish kobold who appears in a great diversity of animal shapes. He can be seen in the shape of a dog or horse, usually pitch-black with fiery eyes. As an apparently tame and shabby pony, the Phooka offers careless travelers a ride on its back. But as soon as the traveler mounts the horse, he is in for a hell-ride through marshes and thorn-bushes. Then suddenly, he is thrown into a ditch or mudpool and the chuckling he hears is the Phooka galloping away. Sometimes he appears in the form of an eagle and carries people away on his back.
