Well, its a bit of good and a bit of bad, so I'mma putting it here. XD
So, if ya read the complainery thread, you know my car was stolen sometime wednesday night.
Thursday morning, we filed the police report. Mom called our mechanic, as he sometimes has cars he's selling for fairly cheap. He says he's got a car for about 800 dollars that needs new tires.
So, Friday, we go up to where his shop is and take a look. The car is a 92, two years older than my car.... But in much better condition. Less miles, handles better, runs quieter... has working ac...
So, I love this car. We take it, he puts new tires and new brakes on it, and changes the oil. It all comes to about 1000 dollars. We go ahead and get it licensed and insured.
Saturday, I'm at work, and the cops call me. They have found my car.
...
In someone's yard.
With a passenger door that gapes open about six inches.
And plates that aren't mine.
And a radio that doesn't work.
The car is just drivable enough condition to take it to the scrap yard when it's open. So, I might get back some of the money the new car cost, which would be nice. As I'm broke now.

Yay new car!
Boo being broke!
All things said and done it coulda gone a lot worse, and I'm glad things worked out for you in a manner of speaking. Working windows, working ac, new/better radio and sound systems, no problems with overheating.... am I forgetting anything?

I still hope they catch the jerks who did this, though. I mean... good grief. What a jackass thing to do.
