If youse been on DD lately, they're having issues with their server again but they are scrambling to get things fixed. Admittedly, this is a little bit of a relief for me because I only have one panel of art for the next page done, I'm on my way to the hospital again today even. Poor Nick's dad... he's having a rough time, I'm not sure I'm entitled to say what's wrong (and they are still testing to find out anyway) but we're hoping he will improve soon. But yeah, comic is delayed for a while I guess. But I'm still working on sneaky other things that can be done mostly without the computer so....we'll see!

We'll survive. Not all the good comics are on DD (Just most of 'em). Don't see how knowing what is wrong would help us much. We'll keep him in our hearts and in our prayers. If you are unsure about what to say, just leave it to Nick, but your private life isn't a show, so don't worry too much. I like the Duck. It goes down a lot, but it's real old-school, and it's raised a lot of d*** good comic artists, so it deserves a lotta leeway.

No worries. As I stated before, family comes first. There's no need to tell us anything more about your personal lives than you feel comfortable with; just know that we understand. So set Charby aside and go to the hospital. Besides, we've hardly got the right to complain about DD having issues when it's already given us so much, not to mention the very fact that the internet even EXISTS is largely taken for granted. So, yeah. No worries.

*sigh* that darned button was a pain to arrange on there, guess I'll have another go at it! :'(I feel bad for that Modest Medusa comic, the artist tries so hard to get up in the top ten and the downtime really took a toll on it. Bad enough that, but then some jerky-jerk(not the comic's author, thank goodness they were nice enough to say that other people had problems) suggests that Charby didn't have any problems at all or I had mine fixed first, and it's suspicious that I was (briefly)#1 again after MM had been for months... the idea of DD favoring me is laughable! But it depresses me that someone would suggest that. I've got enough personal problems and had to deal with DD's problems myself as well (when I had to upload a bunch of images again) to deal with people and their conspiracy theories about how DD does me all these favors and that's why I get anywhere near successful Especially because the problem wasn't "favoritism" but that entire comic's account was made after Jan. 13, which was the last off-host backup of the site that was filled with image-breaking bugs, it's a wonder they even could recover the account for comics made after that date at all! And yet I'm a bad guy because my account was made back in 2006. Nice. It's as though people don't think I actually read other DD comics and see the nasty things they say in the comments to comics I read... makes it hard to leave comments of my own without feeling compelled to address these people, and I HATE arguing on the internet!

Well, I've gone through a lot of DD comics, and yours is graphically, one of the best. I won't say the best as that would be biased, but the quality has gotten that good. I'm quite sure you've got the best backgrounds I've seen for starters and your lighting and expressions are so lifelike it's almost believable. You can actually picture how these monsters would look in real life. ;D Sadly, with fame you will always get people who don't realise what it cost to get there, or that you may not be there just to flaunt. But to be honest. If you wanted to play king-of-the hill, you'd have had a lot more for sale and your own web site a long time ago. If you reeeeeeally want to leave comments that bad. Make a *gasp* second account. If it's against the roolz, ask the mods for permission, I'm sure they'll understand. Try not to get too worked up about it. We luvs ya. And you can't please everyone, so stop worrying about it. (Yes, I know, you can't help it, so worry less ok!)

Forgot to mention, it's not just your graphics, your story, characters and humor are all very good, it's just most people judge comics by graphics (not really top on my list).

hehe, you're much too kind you know Yeah, I'm always hearing some wacky conspiracy, something about how I must cheat the system or DD favors me. I do tend to feel a little guilty though when my comic is up in the ranks while another is trying so hard to get to the top. I'm like "Popularity, meh, whatever. I only want people that are enjoying it to read it" while these poor people empty their pockets and spend hours trying to spread their name through social media just for a scrap of the attention they deserve. On the one hand, it was touching that so many people were checking back during the downtime, on the other I did feel guilty that some comics got hamstrung while the system tried to decide if they existed or not I've actually kinda let this one roll off for the most part, usually I lose a good amount of sleep over stuff like this. I only lost a couple hours while the initial stress tried to work out of my system, but it did make having to run an errand in the morning a pain when I didn't get to sleep and had to wake up early! Hehe, I suppose you're right about the second account. I don't think they mind if it's a second comics account because you wanted a different author name, but I know they frown on using it for cowardice. Not to say that leaving comments under another account would be cowardly, some people do that to victimize other comics thinking the Admins can't tell it's connected to their other accounts. HA HA! People.... I dunno, I kinda like to let people know it's me commenting though, if I've expressed that I like their comic already. Unfortunately people think then that they are obligated to go through my comic and comment... it's nice of course, but I don't expect it of people and it's certainly not what motivates me to comment on other people's works. Haha, it's nice to post in my forums again! Sorry about the ranting, I just needed to vent. I was holding my tongue (or fingers, rather!) to not address the person slinging accusations myself, but I decided not to dirty the comment grounds of another comic. I'd rather take the squabble outside, hehe.

Ranting is the best part about talking!
I agree that CTV is just about the greatest comic ever created graphically. Not just "just about..." it is the greatest. I've been reading many comics, both web and otherwise in my life. Somewhere in the triple digits. CTV is the most impressive work (as of the later pages) I've seen in any work made unprofessionally. Obviously some things, like Neil Gaiman work ranks higher, but they have years and the best tools to work with. Your dedication and skill is something that is very much admirable, and something far FAR too many people overlook.
I admit that it was the1truesushiboy that brought me here (after a lot of nagging) and I'm very glad I've made a home here.

One down, seven billion to go. Although these types of conspiracies are certainly annoying, and to you, I'm sure aggravating to a degree, I think it's funny that they even think it's a reasonable concept to believe. But I tend to take things drastically less seriously anyway. But, although there are many a great webcomic on DD that I read and love, it is truly my belief that CTV belongs on top. I'm definitely biased, but I've got reasons to be. I don't want to just repeat everything Nightreflection said, so I'll just say that I agree with him. Don't worry about ranting. This is your forum after all. We're interested in what you have to say.

Ahhh conspiracy theories. It couldn't be that CTV is one of the oldest longest comics on DD that puts it in the top ten. all those 5's from back in the day have to count for something.

Well, I just thought that if you used another name you would have to worry less about them worrying that god had just commented on their thread and they'd better listen up. You wouldn't have to worry about them worrying that you had worries about their comic.

I hope things get better for Nick's Dad and for DD. Ignore the paranoid kids on DD that have a chip on their shoulder for not being in the top 10!

It looks like they're making a whole new website for Drunk Duck, perhaps even nixing the "drunk" part. Maybe the site will run better sober?

Well, we won't know for sure until it launches. But it's good there is so much input from the users at this point. I predict the site will run slower than expected because they can't possibly test with DD's normal amount of traffic, plus avatars are disabled. Also, I'm not sure if they are going to host all adverts on-server or not. Makes a big difference. There will also be a veery buggy time just after changeover. They can't possibly spot all the bugs, especially nowdays now that programming=clicking 1,000 different checkboxes in some programming language. That and the general attitude nowdays is not very dedicated to keeping things tidy. So be prepared to hammer them to fix the bugs when it finally goes live. Maybe good time to get a mirror up?

Oy yoy yoy...it's slooooow today. They were planning to get the new site up this week but I think they had to delay. Oh man, the redesign has just brought out the worst in the worst people though.
I'm verrrry worried about what will happen with my PW ads. They don't make a ton of money but every little bit counts, and so far I haven't heard one way or the other if the "ad agency" will allow them. I hafta ask, why did they feel compelled to ask the ad agency in the first place? It's like telling the concession stand at the theater that you have gum in your pocket, even if it's not something they sell in the concession stand they still are gonna tell you that you can't have it!
They don't care if our piddly Project Wonderful ads won't interfere with theirs, they just don't want what they think is competition!
Too much bespeaks of knowing all about coding and what will fix DD"s bugs and reader experience, but at the expense of the creator's ability to do their job. *sigh heave*

Well we've had our say. All we can do is wait for the chance to 'I told you so'. We might get a little effect if we spend ages de-rantifying their forum for them, but at this point I imagine most of what we will do will be drowned in a torrent of rants. It's not over when it's over, we can always petition for changes after the move, although it is best to get as much cleared before the start as possible - not from an efficiency point of view, but rather because it will be a bit harder to get a response afterwards, although we will know what needs work, so we will have less to chase, and we can tackle one at a time. As with all projects there WILL be major bug fixes and function changes after go-live, it's a fact of life, like the morning after the night before.
