Anyone else read Treasure Island? I'm currently in the middle of it... (They're about to land) I'm also going to be in a production of it, hopefully. (Auditions Tuesday!) I think it's an excellent book. Long John Silver is the greatest pirate ever. (Charby's the greatest Vampirate, mind you) Anyways... That's all for now.

There are a really fun triology that Eddings made not long ago, called the singing dagger ( i think its translated too that name ).
It is about a incredible thief named altalus, wich comes in contact with a goddess and get to do some things. I dont know how much to tell since its really fun to find out yourself, i love eddings <3
Also Belgarath the conjurer (?) is also a great book, it was my first heavy fantasy novel! Its great and you can read it without starting with the first book eddings wrote, you could read the others but that would just get an more point of view of the other characters. It is about a young man named Garath, wich soon get taking care of and somewhat apprenticed by a god ( i think ) and get the name Belgarath instead- all of his 'brothers' also have the 'Bel' in their name. it is shortly a book about his life and its tragedys and successes <3 worth to read if you love Mages - same with Polgara ( its one Belgarath daugthers, its somewhat a sequel(?) )

CTV Should have a GIANT comic book for sale.
I like Robotech books, romance and giant robots, tis good eating.
EU Star Wars books, because I can obsess over them with my friend until the day that I die, and it reminds me that I hate George Lucas.
Any book by Piers Anthony, Incarnations of Immortality is a good series, but I`ve read all of nearly thirty Xanth books. I must have been quite the degenerate soul.
I`ve read nearly every book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ever, I really can`t say what I think about his writing, nonetheless.
I used to be able to check out three novels, read them all, and ride the bus back to the library the following morning!
G.P. Taylor is the worst author ever, that is a fact and can be proven scientifically, I would have said it differently if anything else was accurate.
The unabridged Odyssey which does not use anyones names, just the names of their fathers, that is a book that makes sadists flinch.

I tend to read books of a political nature: Animal Farm, 1984, Anthem, Farenheit 451, etc. I've tried to read Ayn Rand, but any book not named Anthem is just too wordy for my tastes. I've read Garth Nix, didn't really care for it except Shade's Children. That was an interesting read. I don't read books often, half of it's my inability to reach a library, the other half is having a near ADD attention span. I always tended to read newspapers more.

Well... I think I'll reccomend some manga: Deathnote: Amazing. Art, story, it's got it all. Naruto: Great plot, lovable characters. You can read it free online at: groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturnsOne Piece: Piratey Crazyness. Great, interesting plot. YuYu Hakusho: I loved this manga. The characters are creative, the story is pretty good, a fun read. Kare Kano: WAY interesting shoujo manga Fullmetal Alchemist: Very good plot, cute characters, lots of mystery. Scientific. Those are only a few, I'll reccomend more when I get the time.

Hmm, never heard of that one. But I do have a book to share with ya'lls. Ever heard of 'twilight'? Yes, it doesn't have a capital 'T', it's really spelled that way. It's a teen romance about vampires. You know, it's the kind of story that vampire-obsessing girls (like most of us here) can only dream about. Sigh... It's a really, really good book. Can't remember the name of the author.

I had 'twilight' literally shoved into my arms by a friend. It hurt.
It's next on my reading list, glad to see it's as good as she said.

My teacher is getting me to read "Gravity's Rainbow". He says that even he isnt sure exactly what it means. He wants me to tell him, and hes only ever recommended one other student read it in his entire teaching career. Im reading it for a school thing.
Of course I didnt have to read that book, but he made it a thing of honor.
I think I made the librarian mad at me though, because when I went in and asked for it, she said she had never heard of it. Naturally I had assumed that she had read every single book in her huge library, so of course my natural reaction would be "YOU NEVER HEARD OF GRAVITY'S RAINBOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Yeah, so after I finish reading this, im going to go back to get her to recommend a book for me to read and then ill be all like "WOW! I never heard of such a book! You are a really, really smart person!"
Anyway, so far the book appears to be about this guy who grows bananas during a period of war, who has visions and has only ever had one dream that he knows is his alone, and theres a giant monster that grabs people up with its tentacles and does cocain, and they need to negotiate with it.
Also, the book doesnt go in order. Its all over the place. Like.... one moment you see everyone evacuating, and the next they're thinking about evacuating before the monster even comes along....
