Well, not to be left out of the trend ^^;;... Here is some of my artwork...
This is a really bad digital-camera picture that doesn't do the painting justice at all... The painting is about 3 feet square, and done in watercolour, guache and Ink. It was commisioned of me a couple of years ago and I made $250 (Canadian dollars) off of it.
This is the third painting I ever did, it took me about a month and a half. I still have it hanging in my appartment ^_^. Watercolour/guache on illustrator board - 8.5/11 inch
This was a commision done for a forum I frequent (Obviously going by the abreviated name of "CUP") It took me about 30 min to finish (Drawing/photoshop...I am terrible with photoshop >.<)
A recent doodle I did while bored. The guy on the couch is my brother. The one behind is our friend.
A doodle/photoshop of my D&D character. I got bored waiting for my D&D group to start (They dawdle X.x) so I drew this to entertain myself.
This is the horrors that happen when I play with photoshop. This image was done completely in photoshop. It's.... painful to look at...Let it serve as a warning to all of you who want me to photoshop things~! X.x
Many appologies on not being able to show more of my artwork. My digital camera is broken (Grr... mexico's sand messed it up pretty badly) and the other art that I have here is too big for my (crappy >.<) scanner. I do a lot of commisions... so I do not really have pictures of the stuff I have done.
I am currently working on the beginnings of a webcomic with my brother. So I will link you later (if you want) to the site (Once Keenspace sends the password....)

wow, that bird one and the frog are both fantastic! I kinda like the colors in the completely photoshopped one though so I like it too, it has a nice liquidy look. Cool D&D character as well ^_^

I work best with my brushes and watercolour (Or oils). My pencil/ink work is... unfinished in my eyes. I like everything to be uber-detailed. (My commisioners have to pry me off the paintings "It's good enough! It looks 3d! How can you still work on it!?) My hands shake too much for photoshopping >.<

haha I can totally understand about that, I've only ever done 3 actual paintings that I worked over for days, but they didn't look half as good as those. The only one I was ever proud of was one of a raven. also I'll have to compliment you on the work on that frog, for some reason those critters give me trouble when I draw them and they never seem to look right to me.

Just out of curriosity, why do you ask?

I was just thinking, i was looking mostly on your animals when i thougth about it. I tried to figure out if the frog on the snail was something you made without photo referanse or with, i didnt mean anyhthing mean if it soiunded like that... *sweatdrop*

It did not seem mean at all~! ^_^ Quite the contrary. I take it as a complement that you have enough interest in my art to ask questions about it ^^;;.
I did use a photo reference for the frog on the snail (As it was the third painting I ever did ^^;;.. I was not confident with my brushes yet). The photo comes from a National Geographic magazine (Sorry, I don't know the issue or date of it >.<). Because I do not have copyright permission on that photo.. I cannot sell the frog or prints of it T_T... Which is why I work from photos that I have taken myself now...
Anyways, enough rambling from me.

I have only once made a photo referance, it was when our teacher so nicely forced the task upon us to draw ourselfs in charcoal, by pen, and oil T_T - I look like a professor or something on them =_=
when looking at the king bird (?) it reminds me when i was working in a zoo, i have haunted that little pain many times lol

Is that the bird you were refering too?
And do not worry about your english skills ^_^... I've been speaking this language all of my life... and I still am 'good so not with the words and the putting togetherness"
--- Ryoko Dragonez
The other birds are placed in the image randomly. There is no spacial sence to this painting. Not the way I usually do things... but the commisioner specificly requested a composite painting. And since she was paying me... ^_____^ Yay. Money

are you making any other art forms? i mean like sculpture, ordinairy pen ( what is it called... ), inking etc?
|

Post by RyokoDragonez on Dec 9, 2005 15:20:47 GMT -5
Sculptures: I have done a few. The digital camera is broken though =( (Curse Mexico! Grr).
Inking: I have done a lot of work with ink. Momo and I are currently working on a comic of our own. I am the artist for it (because he cannot draw to save his life). So yes, I do ink work. I could probably get away with showing one of the pages from our comic.... He does not visit this site so ^___^ (We have not posted this anywhere else as we are trying to find a better host than keenspace... which is STILL makeing me wait *Grumble*)
Sewing: I am a professional-level seamstress. I have been sewing since I was six. Right now I am focusing mainly on costumes for the upcoming Fuyu Fest and Otafest in my area (Anime conventions). I usually do not enter my costumes in contests due to the fact that I am usually a volunteer at these events ^^;; (Disqualified for working with them! No fun!). I can post pictures of some of the costumes I have done in the past if you want though.
Another sewing venture I am working on right now is a clothing design company called Red Moon. Momo (my brother) and I are the masterminds behind these designs and we do sew all of this stuff ourselves (I am finally teaching him how to sew.)
On top of this, I take commisions (Yaay money). Yes. People do pay me upwards of $150 to make them clothing/costumes. If I am designing it for them it costs more. (Camera... broken... No pictures... *Sob*)
I am also currently designing a massive dragon tatoo for someone (Yaay money). And I do characatures of people who ask me to (^^ It is fun for me to do so).
So with all of this going on... (Plus activities that I like to do.. such as spending time with my brother or checking on the forums I moderate...) I have no time to get a 'real' job. (Oh yes... another time-sucking money maker... I am also a model, an actress, a voice actress, a singer and a dancer. I have zero time for myself).

wow, youre doing basicly almost everything i want to do. I have dreams of making some clothes and i have designes a dress for the Ball next year ( In sweden we only have one big dance when we quit school and I soo want something special to wear then ) - but my sewing skills isnt the best XP
I would love seeing any pictures of your crafts ^^ This is a art thread rigth? *smiles*
I could someday take photos on our projects at school but its not really anything intresting. we made moste self portraits now, and soon were gonna play some with clay. our teacher must have something for sticky stuff. Last year we almost only worked with papier masche ( the horror.. )

Eww Paper Mache... so messy. >.<
Well, Here's a sample of our webcom. Page one - template. I have reworked the art on some of the pannels since then..but I have to start with something ^^;;.. (Momo won't let me work on panels I have already "finished" He wants to keep the comic going at a rapid pace)
And now for costumes. I will select the best picture of each costume... there are multiple pictures, obviously, however that would just clutter up the board.
Inuyasha (I made this costume a few years ago. Wore it to a couple conventions and sold it this September at a charity auction)
Kagome (This costume was commisioned and worn by a friend of mine.)
Ragnarok Assassin (This costume was not finished at the time of taking this photo. But it is the best picture I Have of it. I am the one wearing it)
Custom (A custom costume I made for myself. I wore this a lot to school etc. The art teacher actually did a photoshoot of me in this outfit so her students could draw me ^^;
Mint - Tales of Phantasia (The girl on the left is the one in my costume. I made this costume based off of three, tiny pictures. Apparently it turned out very well.)
Mana - Malice Mizer (I made this costume for my brother. Yes. I got him into a dress. But he looked fantastic in this costume. People did not recognize him as being male. It was awesome.)
Annie - Rage of the Dragons (I wore this costume to Animethon '05. Embarasiiing. I only have photos of me beside Momo in it... so you also get another picture of his Mana costume ^___^
Needless to say, none of these pictures were taken by me (as the camera is not WORKING *grumble*) So rights go out to whomever took them. (I have nooo idea)

Well, if you will be feeding me ^______^. That might just move you up the list a bit.
But back on topic: My next costumes are pairs with Momo. We are doing a Ragnarok Online Pair (Male High Wizard for Momo. Female Alchemist for me), A Bleach Pair *vomit* (Soi Fong for me, Hisaki? For him) and a custom-designed Lolita/Aristocrat pair. We also may wear some of our own designed clothing to relax a bit. These costumes will be worn to Otafest in Calgary this May.
