Wow. Those are really awesome.
Not to steal your thunder, just a little story. My friend once had an art project in which she was supposed to draw her bed. Just her bed. She worked on that for four and a half hours. It amazed me.
Beautiful work, Ly. The sculpture's adorable, and the pictures are amazing.

Thank you! And don't worry that's not stealing my thunder... I like hearing stories like that. I had to draw mundane things all the time. Honestly, I was supposed to work on all of these for six hours. I actually did more like 2 hours on average.

Wow, I love the pottery! And the flowers. The flowers are yummy! *squints* Hibiscus, if I'm not mistaken? God, how I love those things.

Thank you! My teachers were impressed with it, but for a reason I didn't even think of... ("Wow! You put space INSIDE your sculpture! Most people don't think of that until they're much older!" to which I was like "...uh... it just wouldn't work the other way....") Yus those are hibiscus. They are the most common flower on my block. They grow well, and act as hedges here in my neighbourhood. I love Hibiscus as well.

Ooooh, lucky. You must like in a fairly warm climate, mild winters, lots of sun.... *sighs* I have terrible luck with the plants. My house doesn't have many good sunny spots, and it's too cold to leave them outdoors in the winter. I'm beginning to dislike the cold. It keeps killing my pets (yes, Daybreak refers to plants as "pets" O.<)
Dragons are cute curled up, and that's a really amazing shade of green. I noticed it right away when I was scrolling down the screen!

Yeah, that color of glaze just struck me. I had to add some blue (you can see it in the very strongly lit bits a little) but I got the color. and yeah dragons curled up are the cutest things...
yep, I live in a very warm place. It's been "cold" and in the 60's degrees farenheit.... it stinks when your plants die...

The cold gets to me sometimes... I like my warmth. But I have this nice new trenchcoat with down lining, cause I moves to somewhere where it gets a little bit colder for college. well, I haven't put any art for in a while. Time to put some up, I s'pose. Charcoal and gesso on manilla paper 18x24 inches Pastels. 18x24inches. One of my all time favorite drawings of flowers that I have done. and another pastel 18x24inches Also, for anyone curious, my devart account: lysinas.deviantart.com/ (it doesn't have alot of the stuff shown here yet... but it has photographs and a few things I won't show here...) And for whatever reason, I don't mind doing commissions. Free of course. *shrugs* Edit: I saw a fanart done one that artpad thiny online, and got really bored, and thought the fanart looked really nice, so I gave it a try. I was too lazy to get my mouse, so I used the touch pad on my laptop. Boredom and I, we're not friends. I try to avoid it. anyway for the bored themselves, here's a link I was prodded to post to it: artpad.art.com/?isi0vy6h09sAlso, please feel free to comment. I love to hear suggestions and stuff. I never take criticism poorly.

Okay folks, first things first. I am extremely sorry to bring my art thread back from the dead. Secondly, I'm sorry mods, but I gotta double post if anyone is gonna notice the sudden resurrection. Also, I figure it's been quite a while so it's ok. Now, this here was done for none other than Taimatsu. Simply because I owed him. Yeup. Also, I like the idea of imps. The lollipop was partially done by the gal quoted in my signature, she's the best ever. She's said she'll edit this, cuz she's a detail maniac. So it'll look even better when she's done. Any suggestions on the background are most welcome, I don't feel like it's quite done. (Edit: I'm pleased to announce, that amongst much complimenting, the gal who was editing it told me she couldn't fix it. "It's too perfect!" So yeah, it's done) Can be seen larger here: www.deviantart.com/deviation/28824045/

Oh my good lord. *weep* Now I KNOW I'll never be as good as all you guys!!! Maybe it'd help if I actually went to an art class, but all my friends who have it say it's boring and the teacher's mean.

Thanks! You don't need art classes. They help alot, but you could get similar results from drawing still lifes repeatedly. Spending hours on this stuff. Then, eventually you'll find you get really good. And you'll be loads better than me. Also, staring at animals and studying anatomy helps.
And Scaredy G: Thanks! ;D That's ok. Sometimes you can convey more in two words than in a paragraph.

^^ Thank you! I'm kinda pround of the fur. I wasn't sure if I could do it. ^^ And there's a trick I learned for the strong highlights.

meeheehee. Thanks.^^ Don't worry daybreak. Not bugging me. As long as you don't go creepy, I'm fine with it. ^^
Okay, tricks! The basic fur comes first (Here I learned from Amelius' Hair thread here. ^^ Oh, boy did that help) So the basics, I went and colored the main body a nice dark grey, and then went and zoomed in to like, 200%, and used a one pixel brush on multiply first, then screen, then multiply again. All I do in this stage is make lines (dull and long lasting. watch out for hand cramps!) then after that I carefully blur with a 2 pixel brush, and make it look like fur, and drag it in the direction the fur should go there. (Try to get the plain lines to do it, but it's not neccessary) ... anyway, after doing basic shape and lighting (lighter fur in areas closer, or where light is coming from.)
Then you make a new layer on top. (wheeee. I use so many layers it's not funny.) Select a much bigger brush, for a large area(front leg, arms, tail here), and small ones (lowest should probably size 5 pixels) for smaller areas(like the nose here). Make the brush white, and paint a white blob where there should be highlights. Then click the layer the white blobs are on, and change where it says "normal" and change it to "overlay". And you've got your strong highlight without messing up the rest! That way you can worry about direction and shape without having to think about the strong highlights. (I think that's it. I'll edit if it needs it)

*quietly gets out the good old thread resurrection tools, wondering why she's doing so* Ahem... It felt lonely in here, so I figured I'd post some stuff I'd done in pencil that hadn't taken 6 hours on large paper. So, unlike last time, I am not posting anything all that great. Sorry folks. Instead, you get to see what two pages of my large sketchbook (which I do not have with me. >_<) look like, and my most recent drawing so far. I swear I have a reason for this, I just can't remember it anymore. Oook, I don't know if you can tell... but I like squid. It's delicious, nutritious, and looks pretty darn cool. I drew this after watching a show on trying to find a live giant squid. (they found the larvae, which is what the squid in the front looks vaguely like... and yes, that is a wagon on fire in the background. I felt like nonsense.) And this... this is a drawing of my favorite stuffed animal. Technically it's a bead animal. Named him/it Seafoam because of it's color. (No comments on the name, please. Not even ones referring to Greek mythology, I don't need to hear it, since I have already. From friends dirtier minded than you. ^^) It's nice and big, about 2 and a half feet. And lastly, we have this. Probably took about 45 minutes... anyway, the important part here is the dragon girl is basically what I imagine what I currently look like in the free role-play forum style right now. ^^ Yeah... I'm done now.

*coughs* I read Tai's dream, and I decided I had to draw it. I had an interesting conversation with myself about it, as I'm sick. Anyway, he likes it and says it's right, so here's my humble and hasty drawing of that girl from his dream (Whom I keep wanting to call Violet)
