I do believe that perhaps a fan forum may be a bad Idea. It would split the members between both and perhaps kill off both forums. Am I the only one thinking this?
Also, brighter colours and more contrast can be very painful on the eyes. I like the subdued colours. But if you want them changed, then perhaps suggest what to?

I have a Proboards board myself, and my only complaint is that I -know- you can have more than one theme. Why don't we? The same old dull red theme does tend to get old after a bit. I think I'd visit more often if I weren't stuck with this one.
I like this one, I just want to be able to use something else. Black maybe? Or even something totally different, like...lime green!
Okay, nobody would use lime green, scratch that.
EDIT: I'm not saying to get rid of the red...just add other ones to choose from, to make sure I'm not misunderstood. /EDIT

I'll see what I can do. I'm not sure if I have those controls though. --- Ryoko Dragonez EDIT: I don't T_T If it is changed that will be up to Amelius EDIT 2: You can change it to default proboards settings in your profile. So that -is- another option if you are bored of this one.

ok, what ive been thinking of as a merit for a new forum is that we wouldnt get to bond with waiting for Amy. This will sound very mean but its true, she is almost never here. and a forum with another head admin would make it bit more rotation, frankly it has stood still along time and yes i think its partially cause people come here thinking of getting more contact with Amy and they dont get any. they get more attention on the drunk duck message thing...

There ARE those of us who can't make that thing work, though... Not that I need a whole lot of contact with Amelius-sama.

I think a new forum is a bad idea. It won't help anything, except make a lot more work. And you'd be an admin on this new forum? I spy a motive! Anyway, we have a lot of stuff on this forum that would take forever to transfer, if we even do. If you don't like the system, no one's forcing you to come here. It's not that i don't like the system, it's the layout, the colors are too dark, it needs more contrast. If dogs could use computers, they would get lost here. So just change your skin to default. But, last time I checked, we aren't dogs, and we have eyes that percieve color. So just change your skin color and be content. I agree with Ryo. A new forum would just kill both.

I do believe that perhaps a fan forum may be a bad Idea. It would split the members between both and perhaps kill off both forums. Am I the only one thinking this? Apparently =P I'll keep it just in case, like some sort of server crash (i have seen it happen before) Also, brighter colours and more contrast can be very painful on the eyes. I like the subdued colours. But if you want them changed, then perhaps suggest what to?
I'm not saying brighter colors, just something that's easier to read. Already did that, and it's not helping. That combo of blue, black, gray and purple is hard to watch.

Like I said, make a suggestion as to what colours to pick? (In case amelius gives the mods the power to make another skin)
Suggestions are always welcome --- Ryoko Dragonez

A monochromatic layout usually works, Just a matter of choosing the right tones. If you want you can take a look at these things: First we have black and white. Elegant, classy and easy to read. A little gloomy though. Next we have red on white. Make your forum look good at dinner parties with this set of RoW. Or you just like Mentos. Next we have orange and white. Big orange fan? Do you like orange soda? Maybe some juice? Kick around, have some fun and invite you friends over for a glass with this nice looking set.

My little pixel arts for emoticons still stand, too. I'm not a brilliant pixel artist, but... Well, go to Shippo-sensei's DiT forum ( moopsie.proboards61.com/index.cgi) and look at the emoticons I've done there. Just hit reply on any topic, or open a PM. I c'n do some for here (and already have drawn up a couple CTV ones, in fact).

Sorry everyone...I do try to keep up with things but I am working very hard on something that I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention yet. I've also been doing some traveling. I'm not even at home right now T_T It's not that I am ignoring this board (I tend to lurk because there's not much for me to respond to anymore, and when there is it gets buried I think) I've played with the colors a bit...it's a little dark because I have no idea what the code is for the gray shades. Sorry about the emoticons Darkfire, I keep forgetting to put those in. I'll try and set that up right now.
Please, don't think that I'm not here just because I don't respond to every topic right away... it's not that none have appealed to me, it's that even in my own forum I am shy and feel like I am butting in. I also honestly don't have much to say at times... but I do check in here as often as possible with the time I have to see what the buzz is. The problem, I think, is that we have over 500 members and not even 10% of that has posted anything since joining. I'm trying to help solve the problem with a button on the CTV site but I still haven't the foggiest idea of how to do that (both buttons on there now were premade of course) It's not that topics here are boring, it's just that we have known eachother for a long time now and we've had a lot of discussion in some areas, and it's starting to overlap. I don't want anyone to get the impression that I don't post because the forum's "not about me", it's about the community, and I don't think it's really even about the comic anymore (that's not a bad thing!) I just honestly don't have much to say sometimes! And I'm so eager to give you the news but I can't do it yet...and I don't wanna blow it.

I think it was pixelmage who had an exellent homepage for diffrent codes for colour adjustment for forums and simillar, i can ask her to send it too you ^w^ and amy I know you problebly have alot to do, and the moderator staff is here to make it easier for you. I hope youve got the mail i sent to you about some suggestions. and I dont think people think that you made the forum for egoistic purposes, you dont need to worry about that. but I think though that there would maybe be more attraction if you maybe wrote some message once in a while and it wouldnt be for instance in a thread like this. I dont mean its a bad idea that you responded here, I meant more like maybe welcome new comers or simillar. ( I think all of us should maybe work on that a bit better, we are quite good at making this forum a bit like a strong group having a hard time letting new comers in ) And sometimes Amy, it feels a bit like youre trying to please to many at the same time. its a nice trait but it can go bit wrong sometimes
>< I hope this didnt come out wrong, I tried my best to make it correctly.

We are guests at your house, you are never butting in, the topics on the user available boards are open to anyone who has something to say, that includes you (and your little dog too!). I had something else to say, but i forgot.

To get a shade of gray, the color codes are fairly simple, actually. Just make the Red, Green, and Blue all the same (I.E. D3D3D3, or 222222, or anything like that)
Amy seems to respond when response would fit, as I see it. That's a matter of opinion, though.
Purple, red...this certainly isn't the actual "Proboards Default"...the original default is grey...

Ah, well, Amelius, if you want to make a different color layout, you could probably make a new skin. I personally liked the red better... hey, if you needed any help, I would be happy to create you a skin! I've done several skins on different forums. Well, if you wanted.

I have to say this new layout is KICKING, but you might change the color for unclicked links. Right now it's a dark purplish-maroon, which is hard to make out on the purple and black. Merely a suggestion, should you choose to act on it. By the way, NEW CHARBY EMOTICONS ARE AWESOME!!!! ;D I wish I could use that Hexie-Poo symbol, though, he looks friggin glompable.

One easy way to find out the code for html colors is bring up Photoshop/Gimp/etc and pick a color, then look for the hex code (six numbers/letters), for greys usually all of them are the same.

Or, you could go Here, which is where I learned mine. I definitely like the new link colors over the old ones. I also think that the red one was fine, so you might consider making it again. Or not, it's your forum, after all.
