"I know the caves, yes." Kazia frowned. On the one hand, she didn't really want to get involved. On the other... well, a lot of the roads that way had gotten pretty overgrown, or new paths had been cut. She didn't want to leave the slave to the whims of his master if it meant getting them both killed. "I can guide you there. For a small fee." It wouldn't do to seem too interested.

Joshua dug into his money and pulled out a handful. He handed it over without bothering to count what it was, though it felt like about half of what he had left.

Burakki cocked an eyebrow.
"That was fast." He commented, "Just.... random amount handed over, there?"

Kazia was - somewhere in the distant, murky past - a merchant's daughter. She counted the money herself, deftly, and slipped it into one of the inner pockets on her pack. "Well, then. Shall we get going?" She made sure her torch was accessible as they approached the city exit. It wasn't dark enough to need it yet, but she liked to have it on hand for when the night started closing in. "You may call me Kazia."

"I've no idea how much one generally pays someone to guide them. As it's getting late, I didn't see the need to argue much," Joshua explained to Burakki with a slight shrug.
"And thank you, Kazia. I'm Joshua," he said to her.

"Sound enough logic, I just figured you'd ask or something." Burakki replied, "Name's Burakki, should you choose to use it. Nice to have you along. On the off-chance that you can tell when someone's using magic, don't mind me... All I'll be doin' on the walk is preparing things in case something happens. I'll explain later if it's warranted."

Kazia grunted in response to the introductions, though she filed the names away. They weren't paying her to be polite, after all. And she was less than pleased with the company. But money was money, wasn't it? It'd keep her in oil a bit longer. "Just keep your eyes open. We've got a bit of a hike ahead of us."
