If Blaine found out...
THAT YOU MISSPELLED HIS NAME! XD He probably wouldn't care all that much, actually.
Yeah, it is kinda' like xkcd, but I needed some gimmick to make it unique. Not only is it ridiculously small, but I'm sticking to wordplay only. If I develop a plot, it's because I discovered a good long running pun.

your wordplay is fun.

Thanks. I've enjoyed wordplay from a young age. I'm sorta' programmed to find it funnier than it probably is. It annoys my coworkers, though, 'cause I tell the worst jokes. But it's a good way to get at 'em if they're annoying me, because you know what they say... "The pun is mightier than the sword." *dies laughing* Oh, I am terrible.

I do wordplay for the intent purpose of annoying people when they read things incorrectly. ^.^

Sometimes I do that too. Mostly I use it because I get such a kick out of it.

I guess that's one good thing about the English language. Its faults give rise to jokes.

*One obsession point for me* XD
And yeah, I am too. Almost exclusively with verbal torment, though. I don't know about you, but in addition to wordplay, a rapier wit in general con prove far more torturous than any physical aggravation.

i use both to effect on my fiance for the guy that thinks he's smarter than everyone else at work. i stream long runs of words that he will agree to directly and unintentionally contradicting himself.

Heh heh heh... I do that all the time with some friends of mine. One of them always says "Don't get smart with me." to which I gleefully respond "Too late; I'm a genius!" She hates it.

I would have responded with something along the lines of "Too late I accomplished that without you" to a couple guys at work. people who do not realize a college degree does not make your smart.

I like your response.
College doesn't make you smart. Learning does. There is a difference.

Certainly not. It is such a shame that such high value is placed on those pieces of paper. And that if it is so needed in today's society, why must it cost so much money and time? The world could be much better than it is. But only if people decide to start making sense.

Heh. Yeah. Poor Vidor must be getting chilly. If hell's doubly frozen over, there's bound to be some cold drafts in purgatory(or wherever it was he's supposed to be).

I used to believe knowledge was more important than a piece of paper. Tear. So I reluctantly had to accept, eventually, that a monkey with a piece of paper will get a better job. It's laziness? Why evaluate applicants properly when you can just look at how many pieces of paper they've got. MiniMel is so bad it's funny. I'm interested to see how the style develops. I don't recall any comics based solely on wordplay before, many have a page or two of it, but on it's own, I can't recall any.

Get me my horns, pitchfork and breifcase! It's time to play Devil's advocate! At least in defence of some of the peices of paper. It's true that college doesn't necisarally make you smart, and it's true that learning makes you smart, BUT generally, colleges are places OF learning. Lately in America that truth has been sadly warping, but it's still true. And as for nightreflection, looking at the peices of paper and not the qualifiers of the applicant, one of the big things those papers stand for is (if you're not obcenely rich) that you've come to that building regularly and you've done a steady job for a number of years. Sometimes people don't want a flakey genious, they want a dependable average person.
And sushiboy, you have a big point. As of now, America is the only industrialized country that expect its young people to bleed their way for such an important thing. In the European Union, fees range from $750 per semester, to 80 Euro per class (I'm not sure if that's the whole range, but it is for at least two countries!) In Europe and other places, they have it figured out. Colleges there are still more places for learning, instead of places for their ruling class- 'scuse me, I mean rich- to make connections so they can all get each other jobs in the future. (I HATE the fraternaty/sorority ideas. HATE them. Groups of people FREAK me out, so I'm pretty much screwed, future wise, since I don't plan to join one of those types of groups)
There are still many problems, but I do have to stand up for my path. Even if debt looms.
But, yeah.
Btw, sushiboy, I think you'd get a long with my orchestra teacher. He makes puns all the time. Real groaners, too. I think I might have mentioned this erlier, but I can't remember when.

Well, I'm in college. I know what I want to do, but don't know how to do it. College will help me either way, even if it's mostly pointless, or at best, too expensive. Even in high school, I saw the whole thing as unnecessary, but knew I needed to stay in school if I wanted a future. If only we could have robots do all our work. We'd all be artists. Or if only we could download skills into our brains, like in The Matrix. *sigh* Oh well... At least we've got it better than a hundred years ago.
I think you did mention your orchestra teacher at one point. If you write down some of his puns, I might use them.
P.S. I don't think the style of MiniMel will ever actually develop.

Ah, yes... having leisure time sounds wonderful... get the robots to do it! Exactly! We certainly couldn't have this conversation a hundred years ago, because nobody would belive I have anything of quality to offer in a conversation because I'm a girl! I'm so glad that I am able to express my opinion without being called 'crazy' because I HAD an opinion. Nowadays, people listen to my opinion before calling me crazy. ^^
Random pondering: What are ways that Blane could find out? Besides Zircron and his bad timing.

Hunting in the forest and coming across a meeting or being told by hector in an attempt to protect himself (if Blaine finds out about Hector first).

Actually, there are a whole lot of ways. Menu would tell him shamelessly. He may overhear any of the cabin residents. He knows what Charby looks like, so he might see them or a picture of them and recognise it, or someone may just throw a comment in passing about them. If Blaine ever finds himself around gramma's that could do Vic in too.
