Is there a set of requirements that must be fullfilled for those who wish to be picked to do a strip for night school? Or can anybody who admires your work and who feels like they would love to contribute just join right in?
I suppose I'm asking if I could do a strip, even though I've only just signed up for this forum.

Not really, it's for anyone who wants to help out ^_^ (Just wait till EEN notices your post now..., unless he already has ^_^)

Well, since my comics are currently on a brief hold, I could draw a page or so if more artists are needed.... do you give panel-to-panel directions for the page, or just a general script?

Oooooh new blood! (Insert vampire pun here/rip shot sound effect.)
First off thank you so much Arya for minding this thread while I was gone.
Second off I'm back now and script will be forth coming just as soon as I talk to Amelius tonight and get her okay on the latest pages. After that I'll be passing pages out to you. Generally I give out loose panel by panel scripts but I try not to be over specific and I try and give my artist a lot of wiggle room to use their artistic lisence and good judgment on pages.

You don't need photoshop. If you have access to a scanner you can draw it on paper and scan it. Or if you want to draw it on the computer you can use the Gimp which is free.

Whenever possible, I would be flattered if I could receive as script and draw a comic!
One last question though:
Is it necessary that your art style be consistant with everyone else who is drawing for Night School? I've done a few sketches of the characters for anatomy practice and have realized that my renditions of the characters (while perfectly true to thier designs) look nothing like what everyone else has produced. Is this a problem?

A quick note: If you do not have a scanner you can take a photograph of the finished picture. The best way to set the camera paralell to the picture, focus directly on it, then manipulate the shutter speed as to absorb as much light as needed without the flash (most likely you will need to set the camera on manual as your camera may be too smart for its own good unless your room is rediculously lighted). Manipulation of the Levels once the picture is on the computer can be very helpful.

Okay sorry I've been having some trouble. I wrote the script for everyone on my lunch break at work and I can't read the disks I put it on, and as per company policy didn't save it to my hard drive. I'm retyping the pages and most if not all should be out tomarrow.

never mind. I know who they are now. does it matter what they wear? can i draw them in any clothes?
|
|
|
Post by EEN on Jul 19, 2006 12:31:24 GMT -5
While naturally we give the artist a little flex room we also prefer they stay close to the clothing theme set out in the for the characters in their characters design.
So to answer your question, you can adjust their outfits but we would prefer you didn't stray to far from their original clothing themes with any new outfits as it makes it hard to for characters to be recognized sometimes with multiple artists doing their various versions of them.
